Description of Work: They installed a 40 gallon hot water heater. The technician did a good job. However, the salesperson at the company tried to pressure me to upgrade to a 50 gallon tank for $300 more. This was completely unnecessary and isa blatant example of "bait and switch".

Description of Work: I purchased a new heating system from Silas this year and was so impressed with the quality of service that I decided I would replace a hot water tank from them . In Sept. I called the office and gave them the necessary information they requested. Sure enough the water heater was delivered and installed by a professional, courteous, man. He removed the old hot water heater' I called Silas to find the correct filter for my furnace , as it was not available at local stores. They had the filters shipped to me in a few days . They are courteous, prompt, truthful and I highly recommend them to anyone who does not want any headaches. In fact , I did recommend them to a neighbor . Thanks for your service.

Description of Work: We had a cleaning done and it was straight A s. The Tech. was well trained, professional, pleasant and did his job flawlessly.We needed parts so he put them on order. He was not available to put them in. The company sent someone who did not know how to put the parts in or get the furnice working.. He spent a long time on the phone trying to get instructions on how to fix the furnice. I finally got on the phone and asked that they seng someone with expierence and knowledge.I did not feel comfortable in my home with an unqualified tech. I kept feeling things would go wrong and we would end up with carbon manoxide. We should not have been put through that.I was very worried and felt bad for the replacement tech as he felt uncertain and tried to pretend he knew what he was diong as he called to find out how to do it. Shame on Sila I would much rather have waited for a qualified person. That is why my ratings look odd 1st call great. 2nd awful should not have happened. The office did help when they realized it was truly over this mans head.

Description of Work: Sila came out two times to repair our relatively new AC (which never functioned adequately when installled by someone else). Unable to repair it after 2 calls, Sila suggested we buy a whole new system for an estimated $15,000. At that point, we asked yet a third party to come in, who ultimately fixed the existing AC system, for $1000. The Sila repairmen were very professional in their demeanor; they simply gave up too early and apparently did not have the expertise to get our system running.

Description of Work: The technician came out to clean/inspect the AC system - he was here on time, was very professional and did a good job. As a result of his work in the basement, the pilot light on our water heater went out and could not be restarted. The original technician came back out to help get it started, which he did at no additional cost. Unfortunately, it went out again, so the company sent another team to inspect the issue. We ended up needing a new pilot light which they installed and then did a full check to be sure it stayed on. They charged for the labor and equipment, but removed the service call fee since the issue could have resulted from them servicing the AC. They were a pleasure to work with.

Description of Work: Service person was polite and very thorough. He found serious problems my former HAVC people didn't bother to look for or address as being potential problems. These should have been addressed 4 years ago when they installed the system. I feel I got a very fair price to repair the damage caused by my former HVAC people's poor service. I also bought a 5 year tune-up (2x year) plan and a 5 year parts and labor warranty for what it would have cost for just the service plan at my former HVAC Co.

Description of Work: I noticed a slow leak on my water heater on Friday, September 28. Went on line to check out Angie's list and call Sila Plumbing late in the afternoon. They told me it was too late to pick up a water heater but they would get one for us early on Monday morning and be out here by 9 a.m. on Monday, October 1. Jim arrived promptly at the time promised and was very professional in the way he installed the water heater. We were very impressed and would definitely call this firm again for any plumbing work. Description of Work: I should explain: Our most recent service ($260/worth) came under the service plan we bought when we first used Sila over a year ago. They did our iniial repair on a leaky a/c unit quickly and well, and so we signed up for their regular service plan. We've now called them three times. Each time, they come within hours, are incredibly polite and efficient -- and they correctly diagnose and fix the problem. Wonderful service and we are thrilled to have found them.

Description of Work: I'm not sure. The seviceman was very responsive, but he told me that the a/c fan was replaced before and the wiring job was done poorly I really couldn't verify that the fan and capacitor that were in there were really bad and needed to be replaced as opposed to just having to re-wire the parts ththat were there. I did verify that the fan was repalaced. I subsequently saw a scam that was going on for exactly this issue.

Description of Work: This company is made up of a group of professional, caring techs and support staff. I'm writing this additional report because I've been asked to by Angie's List "submit a report".

Description of Work: I called them because my AC was icing up. Though I was not an existing customer they dispatched a truck that arrived within three hours of my call. The tech. "Bobby" checked the operation of the system and told me that it was properly charged and that all I needed to do was to set the fan to run continuously. I am very pleased with their service and plan to become a contract customer.

Description of Work: Sila responded to an emergency call on a Sunday morning. I got a call back within half and hour and the service man arrived an hour later to fix my central AC during a heat wave. He quoted the emergency visit rate to me on the phone, mentioned two things I could check on my own, then gave me a service time that was beyond my wildest dreams. He was prompt, professional, friendly, and treated me with respect and intelligence. Not all technical service men treat women like they have a brain; this guy was certainly the exception. He explained the repair, answered all questions, and was simply terrific. I would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: It was hot day and our air conditioner was out. I called them that morning and they were there in the afternoon to repair. They diagnosed it quickly and had us up and running in an hour. Great Service!!!
