Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical

Harry arrived per appointment. He did a check on heating system to confirm operability for upcoming winter. He explained the relationship between roof equipment and condo equipmentI I mentioned to him that my condensate line from AC was trickling water during humid weather. Within minutes he replaced a coupling, and leak stopped. I was very pleased with his quick fix on this, He made Sila look very good in my opinion. Nice to see staff capable of heading off a problem.

I called up Sila and spoke to a representative who set me up for a diagnostic appointment for plumbing work for $89. I was led to believe this visit was necessary to diagnose the problem. This appointment served no purpose other than give me a quote for the job which could've been done over the phone. But the kicker here is that the quote was not even remotely close to other quotes I got for the same work. I'm not exactly sure what their business model is. I guess to just take advantage of people who don't get multiple quotes and then pocket the diagnostic charge for those who do. Seems like a unique approach but guess it's working for them.

Great no problem’s a great team to work with

I was charged $350 for a quote for HVAC duct work in my home. I was told that 50% of this fee would be credited toward the completion of the job if I decided to move forward with it, which I fully intended to do. Two days after completing a home visit to assess the situation they told me that their installation team declined the job. They just refused to do the work, but they were happy to keep the full $350 for the quote that I never received. Their billing department was unreachable and has not returned my call. My only recourse at this point is disputing the charge with my credit card company. I feel like I've been scammed and will certainly never be calling Sila again.

Its hard for me to tell if they did a good job. He seemed a legitimate and I had n problem with the furnace on the winter time.

They came within less than 2 hours of my posting the job to Angi, identified the problem successfully. Professional and friendly. Would definitely hire again.

The guy did heat exchange inspection and tell us to replace the whole system due to the crack. He then spent half of the time on quote. It is estimated roughly 20K to replace the furnace plus the AC. We did not take it because that is far away my budget. So we switched another contract for installation with much less dollars. During the furnace replacement I noticed that my heat exchanger has no crack at all and I was cheated to replace the whole system. Not going to hire Sila for another time and keep out of my Sila. The guy also charged my 285 dollars for the service though half of the time was all about quote and he made long time phone calls during the service. Really unprofessional.

Pro: responsive Con: no price transparency They were the first to respond to the Angie's List inquiry, which was great. And they had availability to come out that same day. However, they refused to give any kind of price quote over the phone, not even a wide range. They wanted to come out and do an assessment for $89, and would only give a price quote at that time. I got them to tell me what their labor cost was ($90 per half hour), but they wouldn't discuss how long the job was likely to take, or whether we could at least put an upper limit on the job. If they came out for the assessment and ended up quoting some outrageous number, I'd still be on the hook for the $89 assessment. For such a simple job (ended up being about $300 plus materials), this was a bit silly. I already had all parts onsite, and could provide descriptions and pictures. I ended up booking with MJ Eisenhauer instead, as they gave me a fair price range in advance, as well as explaining what would affect the final cost. Maybe Sila's approach would make sense for more complicated jobs, but for simple stuff, I would look elsewhere.

Problem turned out to be with the gas meter not regulating gas pressure correctly. Had to have gas company replace the meter. Ended up cancelling appointment which was scheduled for the next morning. This was 1 of 2 companies (out of the many I called) that had any availability and was able to schedule a service appointment. I was grateful for their responsiveness.

Back in 2019 I contacted Sila and Jake the General Manager regarding pricing concerns. I spoke to a few customer service reps and every one of them gave me a different price regarding a tune up on my heating system tune up Fast forward to 2021 and as a regular customer I had an Angis Coupon and was told by several customer service reps that I could use this for my heating system tune up. Once again they told me I could not use this coupon and I would have to pay full fee. I even talked to one of their Management Team Reps and they would not budge on price. Unfortunately this seems to be an on going problem - you speak to a rep - get a price that is agreed upon and then they change it- Not a good business practice. I really have some concerns about Sila and their accountability.- A REAL DISGRACE

We just had our electrical panel updated. Mario and his team were fabulous! 5+!! I will recommend Sila to everyone because of the great experience we had. Fast service with with the best guys doing the best job at a fair price. What more could you ask for!!

First technician (maybe Dave?) diagnosed heating problem, shut off the unwanted heat in front rooms (because it is summer), and provided options for full repair, but we did not have time for repair that day. Following week, second technician (Guy) came for annual AC checkup, and was also able to recheck the heating problem and review options. We discussed plans to fix the heating problem along with annual heating checkup in September, and revisit the AC next year. Both technicians seemed knowledgeable and professional.

They said the coolant was overcharged and drained some off. Cleaned things up a bit and everything seemed to work well for one day. The next day was very hot and the system has never worked well since. It can't cool us below 80 degrees. I called twice and was told I would get a call back but never did.

Was quoted $420 to replace a thermostat. I declined to be robbed blind and decided to end that service call after paying $210 to diagnose the problem as a bad thermostat. Thanks the last service call I’ll ever make to Sila.

They were good, on time, professional and the price is good.

Excellent. Received a call by 9 AM and was told someone could be at my house by noon. Then, the office called to confirm the time and informed me of the plumber's name. We discussed the problem, and I was actually happy when I found out I could actually replace the toilet - since it was quite old. The work was completed by midday in a very professional way. I was very pleased with the work and will definitely use this company again. I am not sure about the total price - it might have been high - but not unreasonable.

David was the best engineer that I’ve ever had. Polite, professional and friendly - just a great guy. I will use them again for certain.

Job went very well, all issues resolved and unit working just fine. Technician was professional and explained the operation of my system and gave advise on optimizing operation. Company communicated well and met stated schedule. Very satisfied with service and especially technical service, learned a lot.

They were excellent and even replaced all the duct work in my attic, and built a cement slab and put an outside unit on it as well. They did all the gravel and cement and it took about 2 or 3 days.I would highly recommend them to anyone and will continue to use them as well. .

Everything was performed on time. Just a bit expensive, but it was overall a great experience

Good, friendly crew, installed system in one day, then final tune up was done two days later with another technician who explained operation. Very professional.

John G from Sila was a true professional. He called to say that he could do the service call on Friday evening instead of Saturday citing concern that we had no heat and the temps were going to dip that evening. He quickly identified the problem, expedited the parts delivery and even serviced our 2nd furnace which we did not realize was having issues until he inspected it while on site. He stayed late on a Friday evening to get the job done. John G and Sila provided top notch service and I highly recommend.

Fantastic! Brian MacFarland was able to diagnose the problem promptly. He had all the parts with him so our heater was up and running very shortly after we made the call. We will continue to use Sila for our a/c and heating needs.
