Description of Work: I purchased this Big Deal so that my tenants could have this service before they signed a new lease on August 31st. The provider, Sila Heating called to make an appointment for last Monday, August 25th, then cancelled (because 'we can't make it') but they did not call back to reschedule. This is my second request for a Big Deal refund. As I said in my other request, the providers offer A BIG DEAL, but then don't have the capacity, staff, commitment to follow through. Please issue a refund at your earliest convenience - as expressed in your 30 day refund guarantee. Than you.

Description of Work: Replaced 2AC units. Asked them to do it urgently because the house was stifling hot and prople were preparing for a wedding. They said they could do it but there wsd no cooling until after the wedding. Then, if we got one room comfortable another wsd like a refrigerator. They instslled two new kinds of thermostats so now we hsve three kinds of thermostats on one floor. In one case no new thermostst wsd necessary but they instslled a new one right above the old one, punching a hole through extremely expensive, irreplaceable wallpaper. They msde sn appointment to improve the flow to the excessively cold room but canceled at the last minute and it wss weeks before we could reconnect. They msde some adjustments and apologized about the wallpaper but lefy me with three different kinds of thermostats , including two sitting right on top of each other for no good reason. They know how to get the air flowing but should not be turned loose on sn elegamt home. | |

Description of Work: We were extremely happy with our initial diagnostic technician, Brian, who visited us twice a couple of days apart to help diagnose our problem and worked with us on deciding the best solution given our needs and circumstances. Brian was very knowledgeable and professional and we very much appreciated the care he took both in explaining things and helping us with pricing for a new A/C unit (which it turns out was the best choice for us). The installation team was also very thorough and professional, and appears to have done high-quality work, including a few extra details that we needed for our particular situation.

I took a look at the work ticket from that visit and would like to remind you that we did make repairs on a burnt wire at the furnace door switch. We also provided you with recommendations for repairs that will resolve your issues in the long-run. We do not like to make bandage solutions and want to avoid emergency situations. Description of Work: They diagnosed and replaced my ailing HVAC system with a new high-efficiency one, as well as diagnosing and fixing the condensate drainage system. Description of Work: Over the course of 10 days, and 3 visits, the Sila technician discovered the source of a long-standing coolant leak in our A/C system, fortunately easily accessed in our upstairs neighbor's utility closet. He fixed the leak, retested with a pressure check over several days, and completed the job with a full day visit. Overall I am very happy with the work, and impressed by the technical skill and professionalism of Sila's staff.

Description of Work: Replaced a coil and diagnosed problem. They did a great Job. Brian was very knowledgeable and helpful. The cost is the only negative. They charge a good deal more than the competition. They were however able to come out within 48 hours of my original call vs the market's wait time of 2 weeks plus.

Description of Work: *I am locked into a service contract which is the reason I will use them again. | | |Purchased a big deal for $89 in Jan 2013. Upon inspection & work performed, was offered a 5 year service contract for $2188 which included the work performed that day. The technician was there for a couple of hours, very professional, sincere & really made me feel good about Sila & was looking for a long positive vendor relationship. Total out of pocket was $89 plus $2188 = $2277. |In August, I contacted them to check out my AC. At that time I was informed that the service contract that I had purchased did not include my entire HVAC unit - only the heat. Needless to say I felt duped. But as I was already in a "service" contract for heat, I decided to have my AC reviewed by Sila if Angie was running a big deal with Sila. "Fortunately" ( or so I thought) there was a special offer for AC tune ups. The Technician arrived on time and was very professional. He also offered a service contract, so I considered it. The cost was $2004. I purchased it and the technician left. I put the paperwork with the other service contract & noticed this contract was for 3 years & not 5 years. I called Sila immediately & asked if it was a mistake & was told they no longer offer 5 year contracts. I requested a cancellation. It took a while, I did get a refund of $1083. ( keep in my out of pocket for this date was $1010 ($921 + $89 for the big deal). As I wanted for my records a detailed invoice since the Big Deal included "x" I wanted to know what cost $921? 10 months later, & several emails & calls, I have not received the details I requested. | |I am still irked about the Full Service Plan invoice received in January 2013 whereby it states "terms of full service plan" and both the Cooling System & Heating System is included. : ( | | | | | |was told originally "everything is covered - even if you want us to come out & changed your filters on a monthly basis, we'll do it) | | |

I have pulled your file and took a look at everything in more detail. To be clear it is 100% correct that we no longer offer 5 year service plans and that was put into affect after your service call in January. To clarify your visit in January: the service plan your purchased on your heating system which totaled $978 (for the service plan portion only) does specify in the upper right hand corner that the agreement type is for the furnace only. To clarify your visit last August: the service plan your purchased totaled $1,083 (which was credited). You paid a total of $2,004 and the remainder cost of $921 was for installation of the humidity removal pump with safety interlock, the installation of a trap assembly to create drainage clean out, and chemically washing the outdoor unit. I am glad we were able to credit you the $1,083 for the AC service plan and I hope this response clarifies everything a little better. I would be happy to scan and email the service tickets we have on file which explains exactly what I stated in this response for your records. Please feel free to call the office at 781-438-4114 and ask for Marisa who is the Service Plan Manager and we can email everything in question over to you. To be clear the service plan you have on the heating system covers all parts and all labor, 24 hour emergency service, and a seasonal maintenance and inspection.
