We ended up not using their services again and from using others I found much better rates & workmanship. |

Description of Work: Happy with the service, arrived on time and even wore booties in the house to prevent tracking dirt in! My ac hadn't been serviced in years and I did have some extra service performed. There was no pressure and the price was reasonable.

Description of Work: The Sila rep. arrived at 11 o'clock as arranged and knew where the equipment was, so the call required nothing of me. He was finished tuning the house AC in a half hour and then accepted the same payment for tuning the unit at the barn. Both systems worked hard and flawlessly all through this past summer's hot weather.

Description of Work: Sila performed an inspection and cleaning of my heating system (Lennox, bought from Sila approximately 1-1/2 years ago). They are prompt, courteous, professional. I am, however, troubled that each time they came to check out the (relatively new, and very expensive furnace), they found an issue with it. First time they said the pitch of the furnace was off, and it was leaking, this time that a water valve was plugged and the furnace did not turn on until it was cleaned out. I was hoping for a trouble-free system for years, what with the cost of it and my keeping up with maintenance.

Description of Work: Spring A/C tune up. It went very well. The tech did a thorough job, going thru his check list, plus he took a look at a couple of connections that had been beaten up by the harsh winter, and made some suggestions and minor adjustments to seal the A/C electrical connection at the siding. I was afraid there would be an extra cost, but he did that extra work as part of the deal. He answered several questions about the A/C unit and I was quite reassured by his helpful answers. We've had Sila out before and they are reputable and do a good job.

Description of Work: I purchased the service for a furnace inspection as it was my first full winter in our new home. The gentleman who came was very nice, but what happened was I was told the boiler had to be shut down due to high CO2 levels, and before I knew it I was on the phone looking at a $12,000 heating system replacement. I ended up calling in two separate plumbers to look at the unit, and both concluded the unit was fine, it was being properly vented through a clean chimney, and that the CO2 monitor directly above the unit was working and would easily pick up any dangerous levels. Overall, I feel like the inspection was mostly designed to get me to make a very large, unnecessary purchase, and since that time I have heard a number of similar stories. Inspections are certainly important, and CO2 levels are of course important to monitor, but be wary of being scared into replacing such a big ticket item.

Description of Work: I was having my heating system reinstalled and had them come out to do a quote. They were very professional and thorough, even coming out a 2nd time to walk through the proposal. In the end, didn't go with them due to price but definitely quality service!

Description of Work: I specifically bought this service b/c I have a running toilet. However, on arrival I was informed that they don't do toilet repairs (he said Angie's list made them put that in), but he could try to make an adjustment using the existing apparatus in the toilet. This appeared to work but 2 days later the the toilet running was back to what it was. After the hot water tank flush (that i wasn't really interested in) he showed me two parts that appeared to have some buildup. Since the HWH is 5 yrs old he recommended that I replace it. I was told of the bad things that could happen if I didn't do this and how it would end up being much more expensive. I was asked if I was sure I wanted to make the replacement and I said yes- this cost $280. After he left I realized I felt that I was scared into replacing the parts. I usually don't pay to fix something until it breaks.
