Description of Work: We called Sila to get a new gas furnace and air conditioning system added to our forced hot air system. They came out the next day, gave us a quote, and got the system installed in enough time to qualify for the MassSave incentives. After their installation, we noticed a small gas leak involving a connection between and old and new pipe they installed; they promptly came out to fix it after we called, but that took two visits because they didn't thoroughly check the whole pipe or use any instruments to see where the leak was coming from. That's my only subtraction from their grade, but a big one because gas leaks are something they should be able to handle.

Description of Work: I got one of the special deals for a $59 boiler inspection. The person was nice but ultimately took a cursory look (the whole 'inspection' was 10 minutes tops). I don't believe he checked the burner as was stated on the coupon. Would not recommend.

After looking into the issues you have stated in your review, we have found that our technician Ryan had spent an hour and thirty minutes on the maintenance of your hydro-air system. He determined from the maintenance on the equipment that your system is between 15-20 years old with some mechanical issues that he had reported on the ticket that was left upon completion of his service. The repairs they recommend are to provide you with long-term solutions instead of bandage solutions. Our goal is to be proactive and eliminate emergency situations in the future. It was communicated to our technician that you did not want to move forward with any of the recommended work. Again we appreciate you giving Sila the opportunity to service your system. Description of Work: I purchased the deal through Angie's List for the $59 furnace inspection. Everything was fine, no work needed. He detected a gas leak but it turned out it was coming from the hot water heater. He fixed it by tightening the fitting by hand for which he charged me $90. I certainly appreciate that he found and fixed the small gas leak and I was told in advance it could be as much as $90, but for the one minute of work it took he charged me an effective rate of $5,400 per hour.

Description of Work: They came and inspected the furnace. Since they found it was old and should not be used, they did not clean it. They put a danger sticker and left. It would have been good if they had given a coupon for using the cleaning service for future instead of not doing the service at all.

The technician stated that your system had burnt wires and a cracked heat exchanger and recommended a replacement as a solution. We did not want to provide you with a short term band-aid repair because that is not the proper solution for a system of your age. At Sila we provide our customers with long term solutions and provide warranties on all the work we perform which is not something we could have offered you due to the condition of your system. We hope you understand that the recommendations our technician made was to benefit you in the long term because putting money into repairing a system of your age and condition is not the appropriate or beneficial solution for the customer at all. Description of Work: I purchased the electrical home inspection for $39.00 he spend more time than the 30 minutes and charged me another $90.00 he should have informed me before this I would have declined this service. Then whey I got the estiment. It was 14,000.00 twice the cost of another one from Angie's list real rip off

Description of Work: The technician that showed up was great and really explained everything to me so overall I would rate a B but the one slight issue I have is around communication when purchasing a deal. I purchased a deal and selected my top 3 dates for service. I waited a while but the company did not call to schedule the appt. I then received an email from Angies List that said we notice a date has not been scheduled would you like the company to contact you to schedule a date which I selected that I did but still did not receive a call. I finally called the company to schedule and was told that there are 2 different systems so they never received my requested dates etc. Once I called them everything went smoothly but there is a gap in communication when using the online system. I would use this company again but would just call them directly.
