Derek was the service rep on both visits. Very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and polite. I was glad they sent him both times because he knows my furnace and it is cost-efficient not to waste time on someone new coming up to speed. The first visit was for AC -- Derek correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed it on one visit. The next visit was for heat -- the motor wouldn't engage and he again figured it out and was able to repair it in one visit. He even did a lot of extras, like replacing filters, cleaning lines, and checking the entire working operation of the system so I wouldn't get blindsided by something else. I like how he wrote up detailed notes and posted it in a protective sleeve attached to the furnace so anyone else working on the unit in the future would know exactly what was done and when. An extremely professional outfit -- from the scheduling (they called back right away), to the visit (they were punctual), to the estimate (no extras or padding), to the execution. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants a professional job done once and for all on time and on budget. They are not cheap, but they are not overly expensive. This was quality work priced accordingly -- which is a fair bargain. P.S. They also offer discount coupons, which is nice.

I found them on Angies list. They are very good. They are very responsive and friendly. They appear to be extremely competent. They were very nice when we first hired them to fix the heating and air conditioning system. Previous residents of our house had done terrible things to the heating and air conditioning system. We had them fix it rather than replace it. There was a tremendously dirty nest. They removed it and cleaned it. They upgraded the filters and fixed some of the problems. They were competent and skilful. They were definitely nice. They are expensive but they are worth it. They are the only contractors that I know who call us in advance to give us an update on their time window and inform whether they are late or not.

They were fine and they did a good job. Their price was a bit high.

I like them a lot. I have a service contract with them. They also come whenever I call them due to any problem. They came out once and fixed something that actually was not the problem. Then they came back to repair the problem and did not charge me for it. I signed the contract with them because my experience with them went well. They are responsive and courteous.

We got three estimates from three different companies. One company just sent us a letter with their hourly rate and no total cost or time estimate so that didn't really help us at all. Unique Indoor Comfort's proposal was competitive with the second company's estimate. But what set them apart was Dan Harris. We scheduled a 9 AM appointment and Dan called me 8:45 to let me know he was stuck in traffic and was probably running 5 minutes late. I know how bad morning traffic can be on I-93 going into Boston so I told him that I appreciated his call but that I didn't think running 5 minutes was a big deal (I guess I am used to Comcast who regular are late or never show up even though they have a 4 hour window for their appointments). Dan said he hated to not be late for appointments so giving the customer a call to let them know was the least he could do. To be honest I don't think I ever have got a call from anyone running just 5 minutes late but I really liked the gesture. 9:03 AM Dan knocks on my door. We walk down to the basement and look at the existing furnace, walk around the house to look at all the registers and the return. Dan was really friendly and honest about the work we would like to have done. He explained the flaws with installing an AC unit using the existing ducts (for forced hot air). He gave us different suggestions for how to improve the performance of both heating and cooling. Dan gave us tons of helpful advices and recommendations but without to trying to steer or force us in any direction. Later that day he sent us three different proposals. One for each solution that we discussed and he left it to us to decide what route to take. On the day of the work Dan shows up on time with one of his guys, Jimmy, who did the actual work. Jimmy, just like Dan, was a really nice guy. Dan checked in the same afternoon and inspected the work performed. Overall we are really pleased with the work performed and the service provided. I would recommend Unique Indoor Comfort to anyone looking to do HVAC work on their house.

In the end, I'm happy with them even though they took 3 times to try to fix the job. They were able to step up and make me happy.

They came in, they wanted a big advance before they did anything. They are now charging me more money because of a part that they didn't put in. They are lying about a part and they are frauds. They are trying to charge me the $337.80 for a part that they didn't put in.

Dan at Unique Indoor Comfort provided me with a very complete estimate for replacing a boiler and did a great job at answering all of my questions. He took measurements of the condo to make sure the sizing was appropriate whereby all the other contractors just looked at the previous boiler. Unfortunately, I ended up going with another contractor due to the price but I felt that Unique Comfort would have done a good job.

They did a great job and we thought they were great. Our air conditioner died right when we went away on vacation. We conducted all of this by phone and by having a neighbor let them in. They told us we had to replace a major expensive part and it happened to be the only weekend that it was really, really hot here. They came as soon as we called them; I believe it was on a Saturday or Sunday. They gave us an estimate, which was expensive, but we believed them and we approved it. Then they found they could do it for less money so they charged us less than anticipated. When we returned from vacation the air conditioning wasn't working so we called them and they came instantly, again on a weekend. It was just a fluke problem and had nothing to do with the part they had replaced. They fixed it for free and wouldn't take any money. We have nothing but high praises for them and would never use anybody else but them. They were very responsive.

Steve found that the pilot flame was not strong enough to generate the proper voltage out of the pilot sensor. He removed the pilot tube, cleaned out and reinstalled. Boiler has been working great since the repair. Steve was very professional and only charged a minimal fee.

My husband and I were very pleased with the responsiveness and thorough explanations given by this company. However we did choose to go with another company who's estimate was below what we received from Unique. I would recommend Unique as one of the 3 companies to interview if considering heating and/or a/c work.

They have been terrific in terms of giving estimates. I think I got them off of Angie?s List. The guy who came out was very professional and very knowledgeable. I haven?t had them do any work but they do a great job up to the estimate part. We haven?t decided yet whether to have them do the work. It is just a matter of whether I want their product or another product. There are two different kinds of air conditioning products you can buy, and they sell one kind and somebody else sells another kind. I do feel that if we decided to go with the kind of product they install, then we would go with them. They gave me references - although I have not checked them - and I liked that about them.

The estimator came on time, and prepared detailed proposals as promised. Once agreed, the work started the next week and fit in the time frame indicated. They cleaned up well each day, so our house was never in particular turmoil.

The guy listened what I told him about the problem, and checked for a while, then wentout to make a call. After that, he told me the control board is dead, and let me change it. But I just changed the board 3 month ago. I let him check whether the cable is not connected firmly. It turned out one cable is loose. It seems the guy is not fully professional.

We aren't inclined to hire a contractor we have to chase for an estimate.

Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Calling their toll-free number was a little round-about because it routed me to a central location and receptionist, and then out to the appropriate office with another receptionist, but it wasn't any more difficult than a voicemail system. And, they then gave me the direct number, which I hadn't seen prior. Once I got a person in the local office, they were easily able to set up my appointment within an acceptable time frame, at an acceptable time of day. The repair guy showed up and was right on time. He was actually a bit early and had to find parking (I saw his van driving around) and was still on time, so that was great. The guy himself was young and a bit unprofessional, but never rude or disrespectful. But, he went right up to work and finished the job quickly. He seemed more authoritative/professional by the end of the visit, and was fine with the Angie's coupon I gave him. He also told me about my unit once I asked, and offered a new filter, if I wanted it, which was a nice touch. The billing went through a few days later, and all is well. The HVAC system seems happy still. I'll definitely call them again in the spring for another maintenance.

The tech (Steve) arrived promptly at the appointed hour and worked independently for the most part. He was courteous and seemed to know what he was doing, although I wouldn't say his knowledge of the equipment was particularly deep (this may come with experience, as he was pretty young). He pointed out a component that might fail in the not-too-distant future, but suggested that since replacing it was quite expensive, I needn't have it done right away. Rather, should things go awry in the future, it would likely be that piece that was needed. He also said that the heat pump should be serviced -again - when cold weather arrived, but it wasn't clear to me why this single service visit shouldn't have sufficed for the year, i.e. both heating and cooling functions should be checked at the same time. At the conclusion, I presented a coupon I had for a $30 discount on a "service" call, and he initially maintained that it didn't apply to this initial visit, but when I expressed some annoyance at that, he quickly reversed course and gave me the $30 discount. Unique was pretty good, although not noticeably better than other companies I've used in the past.

The technician, Steve, showed up right on time. He explained what he was doing and why, made recommendations for improvements without being salesman-pushy and always explaining pros and cons. Once finished, he cleaned up thoroughly. Great job - I'll use them for any HVAC work I need in the future without hesitation.

They were very punctual on both occassions and worked with my schedule. They offer a service plan that I took out as it covers everything, soup to nuts and as we have just moved into a 15 year old home, goodness knows when things may start to go awry. About a week after the intial inspection to give me the service contract they came out and did the cleaning and repaired quite a few other things as they went along, such as adjusting vents in the attic etc. If you are looking for a company that really looks after their customers, and is not taking you for a ride, this is the one.

I woke up this morning to water, which had spread into a pool in my furnace room and which was seeping into my garage. The water pump on my air conditioner had gone. I called the evil empire of National Grid, only to be told they could not see me until Friday and today was Monday. The man on the phone for NG had already laid out a cost that made my mouth drop. So I went to Angie?s List. I called Unique Indoor Comfort at 6:15 a.m. and less than 15 minutes I had received a return call. Unique Indoor Comfort kept in contact with me throughout the morning, and by 11:30 a.m. Steve from Unique Indoor Comfort was at my house. Steve was prompt, professional, and clean. He had the replacement part in his van. He installed it right away and tested it quickly. I was very impressed. I would certainly use Unique Indoor Comfort again.

Hank came 10 minutes before the schedule time (8 am) which is great. He's friendly. I explained to him the problem. He checked the heat pump and A/C condenser. Then, he checked the thermostat. He found the problem with the wiring and configuration. He asked me who installed the thermostat. My contractor did not install it correctly. He asked for the manuals. He fixed the wiring and configured the thermostat for heat-pump use. All works were done in less than 30 minutes. Everything was done professionally.

We called to request a quote for air conditioning in our house. The person asked for a description of the house and the work. We mentioned that althought the house is an old farmhouse, it had been renovated over time and that the house currently has a forced hot air system for heat. They also asked square footage so they could give us some numbers right away over the phone. ( without seeing the project ). The quote was $26000 because they said for anything over 3000sq ft ( we have about 3200) they install two systems. We had also used them in the past to install a high velocity system in our old house 10 years ago. I am so disgusted, so far all of our other quotes have been around $6000-$9000 .

I called Unique indoor comfort just because of their high ratings at Angie's list. Appointment was quickly made and technician showed up on time. At the end they also honored Angie's list coupon without any hesitation. A few days later I also received a company follow-up and appreciation letter. Overall I'm very satisfied with the entire experience.

Great experience. I needed to have them come back when I was able to get access to the roof since the compressor was not working after the thermostat was replaced. Each of the 3 technicians that came was very professional. And Brent -- the person on the phone was very helpful and flexible. This is a great company and I will likely call on them for future maintenance.
