Bought the BIG DEAL burner cleaning/inspection for $84.50 plus $45.00 because it is an oil burner...still a bargain. Scheduling was a tiny bit of a challenge at first because I live a good distance away from their location (45 minutes or more), but I'm impressed that they undertook the work...especially at that price. A bit of miscommunication about unlocking the bulkhead for (possibly) an earlier arrival necessitated a return trip and another tech arriving at 3:00, the original appointment time. Derek was polite and his behavior very professional. He performed the work and gave me the pertinent information and instructions. I have an older system with a less than dependable bleeder, and so he showed me where the reset button is and how to use it. He did this just in case a bubble in the fuel line caused the system to shut down. I remember jokingly telling him not to say things like that, because it'll happen. (Something Derek reminded me of later) It did happen...hours later...and wouldn't reset. I called the office and left a voicemail on the emergency line and Derek called me within minutes. I tried to reset a few more times with him on the phone, but had no luck. It was almost 11PM at this point and he lives hours from here. I told him it could wait until morning, that we have a wood stove and were willing to camp out in the living room for the night. Derek was here by 7:30AM and did whatever was necessary to restore our heat...and we each learned something about the weird intricacies of my healthy, but rathered elderly heating system. Bumpy, perhaps...but things happen. What was important was/is the level of service and the timely response of a good natured technician. I would hire Unique Indoor Comfort again...and intend to, especially since they now know my oil burner better than anyone.

They did a good job. They were on-time and thorough.

Went very well. Attic Air Sealing went on at the same time and mechanic adjusted his routine to facilitate the draft test. Very amenable and professional.

Overall it went great. When I called the phone was answered promptly & an appointment scheduled. The morning of my appointment they called to say they were swamped with emergency no-heat calls and could I reschedule. This was unfortunate because my wood pellet stove was not keeping the house terribly warm in some of the coldest days we'd had this year and it was having venting problems to boot, but since I had heat and others did not I rescheduled for two days later. The day of my (new) appointment I was called to say they were running early and could come an hour early if I was available, which I was; they also told me that Peter would be the one who came to the house. Some people will just show up early so I was appreciative of the call. Peter showed up right when they specified he would. He put plastic covers over his shoes to avoid tracking snow, salt & sand around my house, which was a nice touch. He got right to work. He was concerned that my system didn't look like it was in very good shape, but tested it out & told me what was important and what wasn't -- the rust in places was not a problem given that the flames looked right & so the burner was ok on the inside, etc. He answered all my (new homeowner) questions about running the system, when to do maintenance, when I might consider replacing the system & with what. When he first saw the furnace he said I'd probably have to replace it right away but after running it he said it was ok to go for now, especially as a backup. I found this company to be courteous, prompt, and responsive. Peter was knowledgeable, willing to answer my questions & not swayed by his first impressions as he gathered more information on the system. He was courteous and pleasant to have work at my house. I am confident that my system is safe to use through this heating season, and I will contact this company when I am ready to have my A/C inspected for the summer.

I purchased their "big deal" through Angie's List in October of 2010 for Unique Indoor Comfort to check and clean my furnace. They were very prompt and courteous in responding to my call and setting up the appointment, and the young man who serviced our furnace was prompt, clean and friendly. The technician supposedly cleaned the furnace and claimed to check it, and promptly told me I needed to replace the furnace and that I should call his office to schedule an appointment to have someone sell me one without really looking at the system carefully. Yes, the furnace is old, but seemingly in good working order. They did find a dead bird in my flue, which I had cleaned by another company (another story), but this past week when the furnace died on my on the coldest day of the year so far, during a cold blast. Needless to say, I was frustrated and panicking that I should have heeded the advice to purchase a new boiler. I called Unique Comfort to have them come out and look at it, and they wanted to charge me $230 just to show up (it was a Sunday). I called another heating company that came out promptly, didn't charge and then told me the heater was dirty and needed an adjustment (despite Unique having cleaned it only three months earlier), but did not need replacement. Heater is working great now - much better than before - no thanks to Unique.

Great overall experience, I would recommend using this company. They are very knowledgeable and the tech and office personnel are very friendly. The tech answered all my questions regarding my forced hot air system and even gave me an estimate for some potential future work. Price was fair, I only wish I saw the 1/2 off a furnace cleaning. Another company I found on Angies wanted 100 dollars more for a simple cleaning.

I'm very happy with their work. The estimate was clear and easy, they explained to me exactly what my options were in language I could understand, and I was able to schedule the work to be done within the same week. On the day of the service, they actually arrived about 30 minutes early to start working, and were done several hours earlier than expected. Once they were done they walked me through everything they did step by step. On the pricier side, but worth it for the quality of work.

My heater stop blowing heat, and my house temp. got down to 35 degrees. I called them up and they said they could respond in a few hours. I had used them before so i used them again. When the tech arrived, his name was steve, he discovered that my heater had shut off because the vinyl tubing on the pump had frozen, causing condensation no to pump out, and the system had shut off on the overflow safety. This was because the tubing had been put pumping water directly outside. Steve had said he thought that was odd, but there must have been a reason for his company to do that. I said i don't know why they did it. He said he could move the tubing inside and would drill a hole in the wall and lead the tubing to a sink in the other room. I asked how much it would cost and he said it was $150.00 an hour for labor. I told him i couldn't pay that now but i would call them in the near future and have that done. In the mean time, he bypassed the safety valve so I could have heat. I would use them again.

He cleaned my heating apparatus very thoroughly and judging by what I found afterwards, my former HVAC company never did that deep of a cleaning on my 22 year old system. The ONLY thing I have been dissappointed about is that my system is old and there have been recalls by the manufacturer which I was not informed of until it was too late (back in the 90's). so the system is on it's last legs. That being true, I was promised a follow up call from Unique Indoor Quailty (sales or tech ) to discuss Steve's recommendations. To date, I have not heard from them. If I was going to have to get a new system I 'd hoped to do it before the Federal Energy Rebate program ended on 12/31/2010. But my system is running fine and perhaps the energy rebate program will be extended another year. I do not have the resources to purchase a new HVAC system with out some financial help from the government.

Can't get very far with a company that doesn't return calls.

The technician was prompt, friendly, and professional. He explained the procedure for cleaning out my furnace, the length of time, and described the other types of service that his company offered. I stayed downstairs with him for a brief period of time watching him work without any hint of him feeling annoyed. If I had a question or concern, he didn't hesitate to answer me. The entire process took about 45 minutes. He reviewed the receipt with each of the items that he inspected and checked off. I found this experience with Unique Indoor Comfort a positive one. And yes, I would call them again if I needed their service.

Very prompt with estimate and Nick listened to all my concerns and drafted up a detailed plan. The price was comparable with other estimates that we received and as they carefully listened to our concerns during the consultation, we decided to let them do the work. They scheduled us shortly thereafter. When the work began I reviewed the project with Nick, who had no recollection of one of the items that we discussed (a damper to control the air flow to the second floor). At the end of the day, the work was finished with the exception of the humidifier. Nick informed me that the office would call me to schedule that and when they came out to do that work, they could install a damper for the second floor if we still wanted. The office never did call to schedule and after several attempts to contact them, they finally contacted me. I was told that there was new office staff and they had lost my number. They finally scheduled the work, but no further mention was made of the damper. The system works fine, but the humidifier causes the fan to run more than it used to, and I called to inquire about this. My call was never returned. So even though the system works and their work seems to be on par, I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY FUTURE NEEDS including services. I am not sure if their "new" office staff is the problem, although my call for service was 3 months after the installation, but their lack of response is completely unacceptable. Certainly my business was not of great importance to them.

Overall - they were scheduled to perform the work between 10-12. No one showed and no phone call. When we called they had emergency work that came up and had our wrong contact info. They said they would be by at 3. We left to go get lunch and got back at 2 and the guy was there waiting for us now an hour early. The service man was professional and nice. He cleaned the heater and determined that we were were missing a part. This controls our heat and hot water - called it in and said we would not be able to get this part until Monday (its Friday) and we had a house full of guests and now were without heat or hot water. The company was unconcerned so we took our business elsewhere.

After receiving a phone call from my tenants that the heating system wasn't blowing hot air, I made a phone call to Unique Indoor Comfort after reading the positive reviews I found on Angie's List. The receptionist was informative and helpful, immediately letting me know that they had a technician in close proximity to my residence that could be dispatched within the hour. I purchased a great "Deal" offer on Angie's List for services, the technician was at my residence within the hour, the job was completed quickly and problem solved. The technician followed up with me through a courtesy phone call and my tenants were warm and happy!

Did a great job. Adjusted several things that I didn't realize were amiss that should result in much better heating.

After having a good experience with Unique Indoor Comfort for a scheduled maintenance appointment I decided to use them to get a quote for a new water heater as well as a gas furnace. I scheduled an appointment and the gentleman that came out was on time, professional and polite. After spending a few minutes discussing options and taking measurements he left me his contact information and said he would be getting back to me with a quote. I haven't heard from him in 2 weeks via email or phone so I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I called and they were at my house within 1/2 hour and fixed my furnace within an hour. And on a night that is going to drop to 34 degrees, that level of service was awesome! Great experience...will definitely use them again!

Unique showed up on time, the guy was knowledgeable, professional, and quick. Gave our unit a little attention and now we can rest more easy!

I purchased the Big Deal through Angie's List. It went great. He was very friendly and courteous. He spent 45 minutes working on the boiler and seemed to do a thorough job.

These folks were a pleasure to work with. They were polite, prompt and depandable. The person sent out here to do the work was knowledgeable and professional. Did his work neatly and well. I will call them again.

Technician arrived on time. Cleaned my gas (steam) furnace. Peter worked quickly and explained what he was doing as he went along. Also gave me some valuable information on my gas hot water tank.

Steve showed up 5 minutes early and explained the routine maintenance he would be preforming on my heating system before getting started. He was extremely informative, very neat and tidy (he even put shoe protectors on while walking through the house!). After he was finished he gave me tips on the heating system, explained what to do in the future and how to take care of it if any problems should arise. I was extremely impressed by his efficiency and professionalism! I would definitely use this company in the future!

Calling for a maintenance visit had been on my "to do" list, but the situation became urgent when the system registered an error code and stopped working, leaving us without heat or hot water. I believe it was Jim who answered my early call, took the info and then called back within a couple of hours to let me know a technician was on the way. Peter was awesome - worked quickly and explained everything thoroughly. Sure, there's an $89 service fee, but they are upfront about it and within 4 hours of placing the call, I have heat and hot water again!
