An estimate was set up promptly, and the company representative was friendly and knowledgeable. He left me a packet of information describing two different systems, and told me any installation would be a month away. I really liked the product he was selling, but in the end, it was just too expensive. Also the estimate didn't include electrical. I did not want to have to get estimates on an electrician too, and I wanted the system operational when the A.C. installer left.

I wanted to get a ductless AC system installed but the estimator kept insisting on installing other types of AC. The estimate for the AC he gave was 3 times what I wanted to spend and he refused to give me the estimate for the type of ductless AC I wanted. Extremely unprofessional.

The inspector only made a visual inspection of the plumbing connections under the sinks and of the Washing machine hoses. I expected more in the line of a pressure check to see if anything leaked. He also checked the water levels in athe toilets and made an adjustment to the fill level. The best part of the inspection was the draining of the hot water tank. There appeared to have been a lot of sediment in the tank. Overall, I didn't think much of the inspection and wouldn't pay for this type of inspection again.

Everything was well handled, from the initial contact to the final cleanup.

I will begin by saying that I wish the technician had been as professional and helpful as all the people I spoke with on the phone. His attitude - overall - was not helpful, and his tone was very argumentative and cocky. The visit was for a tune-up on both AC units, and while most items on the list provided by Sila to Angie's List were performed, there were a couple that were not (noticed after I reviewed the list). Also, essential things, like cleaning the condenser coils outside, were not done. The technician claimed they didn't need cleaning, even though he barely looked at them (and they have been exposed to the elements, grass clippings, etc. for six years). I realize that part of the point of a visit of this sort is to identify areas that may need further attention (and hopefully get extra business), and I am ok with that. However, most of the technician's comments were not helpful or constructive, and his descriptions of what needed to be done - even after I asked clarifying questions - were extremely vague (as in, "it could take me an hour, but it could take four. I don't know.", to mention one). So, in all, while some things he pointed out seemed reasonable, others that might have been as well did not, since the way he was communicating did not appear forthright and just made this feel like an unsolicited sales call. A small excerpt of the dialogue, in response to the "I don't know how long it will take" line: Me: Have you seen issue X before on other units? Him: I see all kinds of issues with different manufacturers. Me: What about this particular issue? What kinds of things have been the problem? Him: You see a lot of things in 28 years. This is just one example. Again, because of the lack of useful answers and the overall tone of the technician, I did not feel like I could trust this service provider and frankly could not wait for the visit to end. There was one thing that he actually addressed, and that I am glad he found, but that's it. Also, to give credit where it is due, he did write a more detailed estimate at the end, just before he left, but by that time the damage had been done. This visit was most certainly not worth the money, and their labor rates - a whopping $160 per hour - are ludicrous.

The whole process went very well - starting with when I purchased a discounted voucher for the service through Angie's List's "Big Deal". I purchased a voucher online and was instructed to call Sila to schedule a time for the service. Within hours of purchasing it, I received a call FROM Sila to schedule the service! That was a welcome surprise & excellent proactive customer service. I also received a reminder/confirmation call the day prior to the scheduled service. The service technician was the same guy as the previous year - very friendly, respectful & polite. I appreciated the fact that, although he was running late, he called prior to his scheduled arrival time to let me know he'd be about 15 minutes late. He answered my questions about the filter and went about his business efficiently. Sila (formerly Unique Indoor Comfort) installed our A/C in 2008 & has serviced our A/C annually 3 times so far. We've never had any problems with the system, so we've been pleased, and we have always received great customer service from them.

id thorough job with analysis and recommendations. Performed installation in 1 day. The outside work was done very well. System works great. Price could have been lower but there were so many good reviews, we felt it was best to go with a firm that woudl do it right and pay a little more.

I had water seeping out onto the concrete floor of my unfinished basement from under the heating unit. I thought that it may have been ground water due to snow melting and rain. However, John B., after investigating, found that a torn tube was the problem and was able to fix that up pretty quickly. I asked for an A/C check-up (they were having a special) and this turned up the need for a condensation pump replacement. I was impressed by the professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail that John provided. I feel confident that I will get great future service on the maintenance plan that I have signed up for.

I couldn?t keep up the schedule and when I could make time, they were very sweet to arrange the technician to come immediately. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

The review of the house was done in a most professional manner, and although my house is not built like most standard houses, Steve from SILA addressed this nonstandard configuration in a way that showed me he well understood the irregularities that needed attention for designing the AC system and determining the capacity needed for my house. This was the main reason I chose SILA vs. other 3 vendors (plus they had high ratings and many reviews in Angies list). Their quote was slightly higher than the other vendors, but I believe it was well worth it. Steve and his team appeared always on time for work, were courteous and maintained the house clean from debris. During installation we had few additional requests which they addressed to our satisfaction. The job was completed on time as planned and without any compromises compared to the original design. The system was started up with no glitches. Since the installation was done in April, I could not evaluate its performance in a hot summer day, but based on what I have seen so far, I am very confident it will perform as planned. I would definitely use SILA again for future projects.

They were good and professional. I have been in business all my life, so I know when somebody has taken the customer service course. They phoned in advance and told us when they were coming. The person who came did not park in front of the garage but away from it. He made sure he greeted me professionally. He was really well trained in terms of the customer service and did a good job. The price was great; I use a special coupon from Angie?s List, so I don?t know their normal price actually. I would use them again in the future.

Great experience from beginning to end. Their prices are high, but they are worth it.

There was an issue with the gas valve. On the first visit, the guy didn't address it. On the second visit, the problem didn't occur when the guy was there. It's an ongoing problem. I can't blame the second guy, but the first guy didn't suggest any way to fix it. I liked that they sent another guy out. The first guy didn't do a thorough cleaning of the furnace. The second guy thoroughly cleaned the burner chamber.

We were looking for good reviews for our specific problem, and they came and did the job. They were professional. They are a little more expensive but they are definitely a good company. I would recommend using them. They did a repair job when we called them initially, but something else broke at that point. We called them back and they found that something was broken because of their negligence, so they fixed the problem for no charge.

It went so well it was actually boring. They were easy to schedule, came in on time, did exactly what we hoped they'd do and charged us exactly what they'd estimated the job would cost. Nothing much to talk about, but I'd definitely have them back.

Sila was fine. The person who came and spoke with us was confident, which was nice. The workers were fine, no problems. Sila did a good job.

They were very punctual, very helpful, and did a great job. We had to change a few things around from what was in the drawings and worked with the contractor to make sure that all of the equipment was placed properly. We had different options and I cannot remember exactly what we ended up spending. We were very happy with them.

Without coming out or taking any info other than the square footage of our house, the rep I spoke to said it would be $15,000. I was extremely shocked since that was $10,000 more on the estimate than the three other contractors who had come out to the house, so I thought there must be some mistake. I repeated that we already had the duct work, we just needed the condenser and coil and that estimate was $10,000 more than the other three I have, and he replied that it would be $15,000. Yikes! Get other estimates if you are considering using these guys.

The furnace decided to take a break the coldest day of the season. It needs to be mentioned that this older piece of equipment was regularly serviced by a different company whose attitude is best described with " be happy that we are willing to write a bill for you'. Prior to calling Unique Indoor Comfort I had already paid more than $400.00 for the same problem which was not resolved. The Unique Indoor service man showed up within the time frame given by the manager and did a thorough examination of the problem. It turned out that the Gas valve was the culprit: it was sticking and after each heating cycle failed to turn on again. Based on the advanced age of the unit I requested to talk to someone who could give me an estimate for a new unit the next day. The broken gas valve received a temporary fix. The next day, I received an estimate and the recommendation to get the valve fixed as the unit was otherwise in good condition and replacement of the furnace with a new one would not result in improved performance due to limitations of the system. In addition, some adjustments to radiators were made. The next day, the gas valve was exchanged and the unit is in perfect running condition ever since. The bill included two service calls.

They did everything properly and timely. They were very personable and cordial. They seemed to know what they were doing, and they did.

It went very well. They were very knowledgeable about energy efficient heating systems. They left their work area cleaner than they found it. A couple of architects who are friends of ours looked at it and said it was some of the cleanest best plumbing work they had seen. It looked great to us. The work was clearly done in a very craftsman like way. The workers were very professional and very clean and direct about what work they needed to do. They were installing the furnace in a 100-year-old house. They connected the new and old equipment, which raised some challenges, and they were very flexible. Some of that adaptation was more complicated that they expected and they worked until they got it right even though they worked beyond the scope of their bid without any additional cost. They bid on giving us a great heating system and that is what they did. They were not the low bid but it was still a good price. I would use them again in a minute.
