I've called Sila before to work on my HVAC unit and realized they offer plumbing services when my tank-less water heater stopped working. They were able to come by that day I called to see what was wrong. Once they were onsite they deterimed my hot water valve stopped working and were able to replace it and got my hot water working in no time.

They arrived on time, they were very efficient, the owner took about an hour to perform the service and I was pleased with they work. They are professional and the technician was good.

Angie's Listers, beware Sila's tune-up deal: it's a ruse to get them in the door so they can break your out-of-warranty unit and sell you a new one. We hired Sila for a tune-up of our central air conditioner at the special advertised rate of $69. The system is old, but had been cooling our house perfectly for several very warm weeks prior to the tune-up. The technician reiterated that the unit was old and we should start considering replacing it, but said that it was still working well at present. Within hours after the technician left, the vents began blowing warm air. When we checked the unit, the fan was not rotating and it was making a god-awful noise and emitting a burning smell. There were also two small washer-like parts sitting on top of the switch. I called the alleged 24-hour hotline and left a message to which I received no response. Only after repeated calls the next morning was I able to speak to someone and get a commitment to send a technician. The technician who came was able to fix the unit quickly. He said that the surge run capacitor had failed by total coincidence for reasons that had nothing to do with the tune-up and he should be charging us $125 for the visit and $335 for the repair, but because the previous technician had forgotten to replace the washer-like parts (totally unrelated), he was going to "give us the benefit of the doubt" and comp the visit and repair. He then said that because of the unit's age we were going to continue to have problems with it and shouldn't continue wasting money on maintenance because systems this age commonly fail shortly after a technician touches it. Shouldn't the technician have advised us of that before he opened up our unit and took our money? I asked. Nope, he said. We'll definitely take his advice and not waste any more money on Sila's services.

The tech arrived early and performed the repair quickly (was at our house no more than 30 mins). The repair cost $335 with an additional $250 tacked on for the visit and diagnosis, which I find completely ridiculous. The usual call out/diagnosis fee is $125 but because there was high demand following a heat wave, they doubled the fee. I find this a highly repugnant way to treat customers (particularly established customers like ourselves) and I will take my business elsewhere. Gouging customers is a short sighted and offensive business practice.

Needed someone to be responsive and accommodating due to family issues. Sila came out the day I called and provided me with a quote before they left. They showed up at 7:30 the next morning and were gone by 3:00. Companies that I had called several days early could not start the work until July, August and even September. Others called back days later only to be informed.that the work had already been completed. The entire experience was most satisfying. The installation technicians were great laboring outside in 90+ degree weather. They were very helpful and courteous. Sila may be a little more expensive but the satisfaction of having the job done right and quickly made it worth while. Thank you.

Sila sent a service technician out to diagnose an issue with our HVAC system (not producing A/C). The technician originally diagnosed the problem as faulty wiring and a bad thermostat (which was brand new a few months ago and was running heat just fine) and said that it would cost $625 to repair. We had already had done repairs on our home and we asked the contractor come out 2 times to ensure it wasn't an electrical issue when we had the new thermostat installed a few months ago, so we thought our contractor had installed it incorrectly. However, when the Sila service technician purchased a new thermostat and installed it, he then subsequently said it's a problem with the condenser. We now have reason to believe that it was never a problem with the wiring/electricity, but an improper diagnosis by Sila to start. It was completely unreasonable to expect us to pay $625 for a faulty diagnosis and a repair that did not result in repairing the problem. The technician proceeded to tell me that his next hunch was either the motherboard or the coolant, but that he wasn't sure. When I asked him about the cost of each of those repairs, he quoted me anywhere between $700 and $3500. We asked him to stop right away because we had no confidence he had any idea what he was doing. When we asked for someone from Sila to come out and perform a diagnosis, we wanted to hear what the problem is and weigh our options. It is a TERRIBLE customer experience to expect the customer to be ready to foot a $3,500 bill without being able to properly diagnose the problem and give us our options.

I’m writing this recommendation because my husband and I were so impressed with the performance of Sila Heating and Air Conditioning that we want to highly recommend their services. We had a ductless air conditioning system installed in our family room and central air conditioning in our second floor. At every stage of the process from sales through installation, we were so impressed at how knowledgeable, competent, polite, and hardworking everyone was. They came on time, cleaned up after themselves and kept us informed of progress. They also communicated where they would place equipment to ensure that it was acceptable to us. We were amazed and thrilled with them as a company. Again, we highly recommend their services!

Sila's technician Tony has expertly performed the annual maintenance for several years running. He explains the tasks he is doing and he is skilled with features of a UNICO system. He used his measurement instruments to check the components in the attic and outside.

The team came in exactly as scheduled. Finished the work in 2 days instead of planned 3. The house was left clean. No surprises, no drama. The house is now cool. I went up to the attic just to look at it and it was so well organized as well. I’m just impressed with everything. Start-to-end it was a great experience. Big big thanks to the team!

Ken was excellent: personable , knowledgeable, informative. We discussed some existing issues and if they required attention considering cost/reward. One issue was that the home has one zone heating for both floors that, in the cold weather, yields significantly different temps (10 degrees or more and what the ramifications would be to convert to a dual zone system. Ken was indeed informative yet in no way attempted to push me into something that was not absolutely needed. Sila was in my home several months ago to work on my boiler with very positive results. It was due to that experience that I had them back today and why I would not hesitate to call them back when needed.

Guy did a great job diagnosing and addressing the issues with my HVAC system. He was super knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended!

John Gulstrom was here this morning to do a tune-up/check on AC. This was his second visit here and Both times I have been extremely impressed with his professionalism and quality of work. Both times he took the time to explain exactly what he was doing and why and offer options regarding the equipment. The information I received from John will allow me to make crucial and timely decisions about the need for an upcoming replacement of the heat/ac unit. This information is invaluable and allows me to feel confident that when the time comes, John G and Sila will make the transition to a new unit worry free.

Sila's prices are definitely not the lowest but in the end, I paid the premium for a job well done. I am impressed with the professionalism and punctuality. From what I saw, the job was well done and left the place spotless. This was for a rental unit that needed an immediate response in the winter months.

He was a little late but called in advance to let me know he would be later than scheduled and then called about 30 mins before arriving. All went well and he fixed a blown fuse.

Sila's technician, Sam, came out and took extra time to unclog a water line for me. So, I'd say he did a thorough job.

Sila was incredibly helpful during this time consuming, difficult, complicated, and incredibly frustrating process. In addition to all the usual things a contractor would do as part of installing new gas appliances, Sila's technicians and staff also spent a lot of additional time customizing invoices and estimates to meet the excessive demands of the insurance companies that were paying our claims; doing research; advising us, etc. I also appreciate that technicians in the field are empowered to work with customers to find solutions in-situ. Every house and situation is different. While we did not end up having to pay out of pocket for the cost of replacing our gas appliances and boiler, we have used Sila for a lot of other work that we have paid for, and will continue to use them. While you will not get bargain basement pricing from Sila, they know what they are doing and when you are dealing with gas and plumbing, that's what you want.

Their service is flawless and their pricing for the unit was good. The service contract has been going up in price but I would still recommend them and I would use them again.

There are several layers of sales people involved here, and information was not getting from the person who handled the online chat, to the person who called to follow up, to the person who took my follow up call. I think the in between person who called me when I was about to go out with my fiancé was probably the correct point of contact, but couldn't actually call them back without being redirected. There was also something that felt a lot like an up sell in the middle of the call about getting a quote for the work I was interested in, but I never had time to clarify and wasn't able to get the person to understand I needed to talk another time. When I called back after several hectic days, the people who answered the call had forgotten I existed again and started setting up a new customer profile all over again. This was generally dissatisfying because of the apparently good reputation of the company and their advertised areas of expertise. I just can't actually work with people I can't even reach.

Sam was on time & went about checking the units inside & outside. Replaced the a/c filter

Not good. The repair was minor and I hired Sila because they offered a generous coupon. They did not accept the coupon and I ended up paying way more than what the job required.
