Work happened quickly, and very friendly to work with. It was expensive and a mask was not worn by them (it was initially, but only covering mouth), so bringing down to a B.

Horrible experience. Technician came for routine tune up and installed my humidifier filter incorrectly, so water dripped all over my HVAC system. Caused a part to stop working, in the middle of January. A repairman came and charged me over $800 to repair the part, but reinstalled the system incorrectly and caused a gas leak in my home. I had to called Eversource to come red tag my unit and had no heat in my home with infants for days. Finally Sila came and repaired my system properly, but offered me no recompense for my trouble. Their own emergency technician acknowledged they had messed up.

I got a year's contract for the maintenance, after they installed the water heater and automatic shut-offs for the water heater and washer. It took three visits to just do the regular maintenance, because they were unprepared for our configuration, and in one case sent an electrician, rather than a plumber. They refused to renew our service contract, and were less than pleasant about it. Since they created the configuration (I was please with the installers and their service), they should have been able and willing to do the routine service.

Sila got right back to me with a call from an administrative person who spent a long time on the phone gathering my information, then could not process it and turn it into a service request. Keep in mind, this information had nothing to do with the plumbing issue I was calling about. The person on the phone could not input my address. I get mail all the time. My building is more than 30 years old. There is nothing amiss with my address. He told me he would call back the next day, then never did. I had a similar experience several years ago: Sila kept me on the phone for 45 minutes while going through all of their required questions, keeping me waiting, then told me they couldn't do the job.

Sila Heating and Air Conditioning is the only service I found that can service my Buderus oil burner. John was the tech this time and he did an excellent job of taking care of the burner and then explaining the problem that arose with my chimney liner. Since I didn't have heat or hot water until the liner was fixed, I had to use a company I didn't know as an emergency repair. I was able to speak with their tech using the information provided by John and therefore felt comfortable with the costly repair. John even came back after his last call to turn the burner back on. I have the warranty on my burner so I pay a discounted price and have the coverage if I need it.

I had a great experience and always have with Sila. On the first cold day of the season I became aware that the pilot light on my gas boiler had gone out sometime over the course of the summer. It wouldn't stay lit so I called Sila as I have a maintenance agreement with them. They sent a tech out the same day and he quickly resolved the issue and I had heat again. I've tried a couple of other companies in the area and have been unimpressed with the folks that were sent over. I have always been pleased with the folks that Sila has sent over. I use them for A/C as well and I am similarly happy with those services as well.

The job was fairly straightforward and I had already procured the sink and most of the additional supplies but the job required some replumbing of both the water supply and drain. The master plumber worked efficiently and professionally and the job was completed in a few hours. The cost was determined from a standard table in a notebook but does not take into account the complexity of the job or whether materials are supplied by owner. Since I supplied most of the materials (plumber supplied valves and pipe and drain fittings) the price seemed rather high for around 3 hours work. However, I've had no professional plumbing work done recently and thus have nothing to compare it to. The plumber was very pleasant and professional and the work of high quality. I have no other complaints.

We are overall very happy with the project. Sila had to install a high velocity air conditioning system in very limited space. They provided a timely quote and showed up and did the work professionally and on time. There were a few hiccups, such as the installation of the hatch to the attic space, but Sila’s carpenter agreed to fix the problem at no additional cost to us, so I consider that to be excellent service. After two weeks, the system has been performing exactly as we hoped.

Technician didn't show up and didn't bother to call me to say he won't be able to make it.

They came in and gave us an estimate. Two guys came. Only issue I had they left saw dust on my grandchild remote car. I expressly asked them to keep it cleaned. But I do the job..

Technician was very professional and communicated well what he was going to do and what he found along the way. He was on site for 90 minutes. In the end the technician said there appeared to an obstruction in the line toward the air handler (inside the house). He recommended to not further pursue a repair but rather consider replacing the 20 year old system. Seemed reasonable. Then the bill: $685, for 90 min of work (no parts/materials, no refrigerant) I called customer service and they explained that the charge for the electronic leak detection ($265) was on top of the standard labor charge of $90 per 30 min. (plus a $150 service call charge). I felt like I was being charged for labor twice, for leak detection service and diagnostic service at the same time. In other words the labor rate that includes electronic leak detection was $178 per 30 minutes, not 90 per 30 minutes.

Tech was nice and knowledgeable, and didn’t mind answering my questions :) System now working well!

No issues at all. Sila is professional and does good work. They were on time, respectful of social distancing, and left everything clean.

The service was excellent! The technician (Nick) was very professional, knowledgeable, expeditious and courteous. I have family members with compromised immune systems, so it was very important to me that he wore a mask, used hand sanitizer and respectfully followed COVID-19 social distancing during his visit! He clearly explained all of my options after diagnosing the issue and thoroughly answered all of my questions. I couldn't be happier with the service!

First time I used Angie to find any professional home service company. Sila is the prime example of a COMPANY NOT TO HIRE. If you are even thinking about using this company DON'T. The Sila plumber shows up on time, sloppy and mumbling. I can hardly understand him and no attempts were made to discuss anything. Totally non-communicative. Had the problem solved in ten minutes. I said really? For the last four weeks I'd been plunging the toilet, using consumer grade chemicals and professional even used a gas-powered blowout plunger. Toilet would clear and four or five days later would be backed up again. But the plumber absolutely assures me its fixed and they guarantee their work. OK. Then he gives me an outrageous bill of $330.00 for his ten minutes of work. We negotiate and a simply expensive price of $205.00 is agreed upon. Guess what. Five days later the toilet clogs up again and overflows. Emergency call is made (weekend so they put me off to Monday morning. The Sila plumber shows up on Monday morning on time and fixes the toilet yet again. Now he holds up a small artist paint brush and pieces of a plastic bag and why did I flush it down the toilet this past week. He was advised if he had done the job right in the first place he would have removed the items the previous week. Then this plumber had the audacity to tell me that my guarantee was now void and they would charge me if they to come again. And the guy was arrogant and condescending the entire time. This is a disreputable company and Angie's List should be ashamed of having referred them to me. Don't do Sila. For anything.!

The technician was very nice, but the estimate was for over $6,000 for a simple water heater replacement. These water heaters run under $2,000 at the most expensive, so that would be over $4,000 for labor. Not sure why the price gauging, but next day was able to get another plumber to do the replacement for under $3,000, with labor, removal, new reputable unit with lifetime warranty. I'm sure they would have done a nice job, but I don't take kindly to being taken advantage of.

From the start the Project Manager, Dale, was very responsive and took time to explain any questions I had. Two day install went smoothly except for a syncing issue with the nest thermostat. Bobby’s install team actually finished on day 1 but Sila sends a foreman and independent technician to check and make sure everything was installed and is working properly. Thermostat issue was a bit more tricky than expected but the entire team communicated smoothly with each other and the technicians, Brian and Kyle, made sure everything got resolved before leaving.
