We're pulling out the knob & tube gradually (as money allows), and Dan was able to help us set priorities for the work, privileging those areas that presented risk. + -1 moreDan was professional and courteous from start to finish. He even agreed to come by very early so I could get the estimate before I had to leave for work (and he was right on time). Good experiences on both occasions. The work is very well done and finished properly. His solutions were aimed at finding the least invasive and costly repairs (for example, he could have just punched a bunch of holes in the walls and ceiling to install the bedroom light/switch, but instead he used a scope to avoid destroying the drywall). He was replacing a hanging light in the bedroom (hangs from a chain hooked to the ceiling and plugs into a wall), and he even patched the holes from the chain hooks! He finished both jobs on the days scheduled at the estimated prices. He even suggested a less expensive alternative for something so I could still have it done within my budget. I would (and will) continue to use him as my electrician.
Description of Work: Two separate occasions - installed an outlet in our kitchen, and overhead lights in our stairway/landings; and installed a light fixture in our bedroom with dimmer switch, and replaced all outlets in that room.

He was very personable and I felt very comfortable talking with him about the work to be performed. I needed some old knob and tube wiring replaced, an outlet secured, and an outlet in the kitchen upgraded to GFI. He came and did the job a few days later. He and his partner worked quickly and efficiently! Got the job done in about an hour and even threw in a little extra work and materials for no extra charge. I will definitely have Dan back to do some more extensive electrical work in the near future! He seems very honest and fair! Call him-you will not regret it! Thanks again Dan for a great job!

They took the time to show me all of the install and how to work all components. They also left full instructions and a number to call if I had any questions or problems. I would recommend them for any electrical job.
Description of Work: Santana Electric installed an electrical circuit and outside box for my portable generator in case the electricity went out. The job was completed in about 45 minutes - 1 hour and professionally done. They showed me how to work the system and also suggested a solution to keep my portable generator safe and secure during use and in off hours.

Description of Work: Needed an outlet for a generator, a transfer switch and a couple of additional outlets in my garage. I was contacted within hours of submitting my request on Angie's List. Description of Work: I can't say enough good things about Santana Electric. Punctual, courteous, friendly and very accomodating. He replaced electric built in heater mechanism in our four season porch. It was an old unit that required an extensive search but he found one and installed it. It is working great now. He repaired our dimmer switch in our utility room. The big job was moving a chandaleer from our old dining room to the master bedroom and replacing the old chandaleer with a different light light fixture. Due to a miscommunication on my part Daniel Santana thought he was just REPLACING the chandaleer and not INSTALLING it which meant a half hour job turned in to two hour plus job. When we both realized my mistake I offered for him to come back another day to do the installation as I realized he had planned his day and time for a replacement not an installation. Most people at that point would have been at least annoyed and upset. His attitude and demeanor remained courteous and friendly stating that he was there to do the job and he would do it. This meant he had to put on his protective gear and go up in the attic filled with insulation drill a hole in the ceiling and run wiring to the bedroom. When he departed it was complete and we couldn't be happier with the new lighting in our bedroom. I would recommend him in a heartbeat to family and friends. Any future electrrical needs we have will definitely be handled by Santans Electric. My score for him would be an A+. Regards, Charlie Hague

+ -1 moreCalled Santana on Monday, November 5; he returned the call that afternoon and we scheduled for him to come out on Wednesday, November 7. He called on Tuesday, November 6, stating he had an open hour and could come out. He came within 15 minutes of his call, quickly identified the problems, replaced the light switched, identified and repaired the problem with the outlets, and did all this in less than an hour. He also gave us a price on some other work we want done, and we will schedule him to do the work.
Description of Work: We called Santana Elecctric on Monday, November 5, 2012, because of a problem with a light switch and an outlet in a bedroom we are using as an office.

+ -1 moreI had met Dan, his father and one of the grandsons when I had my bathroom remodeled so I was familar with their work. After several emails we settled on a price and a time. The three showed up on time and the work went flawlessly. The gazebo was prewired and I had the wires exposed when they arrived. Watching Dan and his family work you knew they had done this before. They dug a trench between the garage and the gazebo; installed a GFI electrical box on the garage to tap into an existing box and ran the underground line out to an electrical box outside the gazebo. They then completed the connection to the gazebo. As this was being done, Dan was installing the fan and electrical boxes. In about three hours the job was completed and they cleaned up. I was completely satisfied with the workmanship and quality of the products they used and would not hesitate to recommed them to family and friends. They are very easy to talk to, professional, knowledgeable and neat.
Description of Work: Assemble and install a provided combination ceiling fan and light kit in a gazebo along with the controlling slide switches and additional outlet. Also run an electrical line from the garage to the gazebo installing an outside receptacle along the way.

+ -1 moreDan Santana happily returned messages and emails for two weeks before our appointment date. I needed some 240v. wiring done. He showed up on time with his father and apprentice. They performed what was required in less than a half-hour, having already obtained the necessary parts and prepared what was needed ahead of time. When the 8' x 20' rented walk in freezer that they had wired failed to start, Dan even did some trouble shooting, pointed out the broken parts, called the nationwide rental company's manager, and facilitated its repair with an HVAC specialist. All this for less than $200, which included parts, labor, and concerned follow-through. Finding any kind of contractor in the Pioneer Valley is a crap shoot. But for once, I was shocked not by the poor service rendered, but by the overwhelmingly quick and high quality of Santana's work. I can't recommend them highly enough.
Description of Work: I needed an 8' x 20' rented walk in freezer that was trucked to my driveway hard wired to 240 volts.

This was not even on the list of "to do's" but he saw the tape over the doorbell and offered to fix it without additional cost. Came in and got right to work. I would CERTAINLY call this company again if needed and would give it my highest rating.
