My furnace broke down in the middle of winter, and A/C had not been working well for years. I needed the furnace and AC to be replaced. They came immediately to bring temporary heating for my entire house, then promptly installed the heater and A/C. Very professional from the sales rep. to the technicians, I was impressed. The representative arrived in a timely manner and we spoke until my wife arrived a few minutes behind the representative. The rep was very knowledgable. She had wonderful presentations and with the little survey she took told us everything we wanted to hear. Here she got a little pushy wanting us to commit to a contract even before the numbers were out. SO, the representative then measured the house, windows, doors and even checked on the exposure of the house before making her recommendations. I was a little confused why the other quoters went as far to even measure the ducting size and checked to determine supply and return ducting and she had not, especially in the dormers. Anyway, after the measurements we were provided some reading material while she prepared the numbers for us. Then the hammer dropped north of $7000 for a 13 SEER 2.5 ton unit. The representative even offered higher SEER rated units. I think I said WOW outloud. After a little conversation I shared that I was willing to pay up to $4500. All that presentation of warranty, quality, service, on call personnell and I felt like the price for their overhead was being passed onto us. There was an additional charge after the first year for their service calls and maintenance. Overall a great presentation. I think they went to the same training class as our window salesman. The representative did say she would present our figure of $4500 to the boss but it didn't look good. I received an email the next day that didn't even come close to breaking $6000. I replied back at my dissapointment stating again I would come down to $4500 but as of this review haven't received a reply. Just to make sure I wasn't to far out of the box on what I expected to pay for a unit I called a cousin of mine who is in this field of work. He confirmed to me that the price range I was expecting is spot on for this area. Thank you for your time and consideration.

The tech trouble-shot the system and found out that the repairs were minor. Did not try to sell me anything but made only suggestions. Very quick on servicing the unit. Would definitely use them for future work.

Gary was great to work with. We had a fairly complicated problem to solve, with a home HVAC system that was far from typical, and Gary was both patient and creative in helping us come up with a solution that dramatically improved the air quality in our home. Pricing was fair, though not cheap, but in this case you certainly get what you pay for.

. We have Hurley & David to fix the problem with the furnace. They did an excellent job. They came in January. The price was reasonable. They are very quick and prompt to come. The people are very friendly, they didn't have the part they need and they run to the hardware store to get it for us. They took care of everything that day. They were very polite and explain the different action to take care of this problem. They weren’t pushy. They just gave us a really good overview of the things that needed to be done.

Our old system was failing and they were able to schedule an installation immediately. They arrived on time and had a new system installed all in one day. The workers were courteous and explained everything. They took all the old stuff away and left everything neat and clean.

The tech was extremely personable, helpful, well informed and friendly. He performed a very comprehensive safety check on my gas furnace and provided a wealth of pertinent information about gas furnaces and what needed to be checked periodically in order to ensure safe operation. He was very well connected to his company and its services via an ipad and phone and was able to document and obtain the cost for a modification to my heating unit. I was very pleased with the visit.

I called for a service visit. They were not able to come out until between 4 and 6 pm. I contacted another company which said they would be able to come sooner so I went with them. The receptionist said that their policy is to not do any work on rental properties unless they were owner occupied. I just have a duplex and they said they could not work for me. I contacted the company based on the Angies list reviews which seemed good.

Called for a furnace cleaning to try and get 1 more winter out of my tired beast. the tech was on time and prepared with all the needed parts and tools. He spent two hours going over and cleaning every aspect and was candidly honest about the state of my furnace. While making it clear it should be replaced he did the best he could in the mean time. Based on this experience i will most likely be calling them back in the spring when it comes tome to replace the system

I was very impressed with the service I received from Hurley and David, from the sales, to the installation, to customer service. When I called for an estimate, they sent over a sales representative right away, who measured the square footage and calculated the right size furnace for the house. The sales representative explained all of the options, discussed the benefits of working with Hurley & David, answered my questions, and provided an estimate. Since the existing furnace was having issues, I wanted to get the furnace replaced quickly. Despite the fact that it was their busy season and also the week of Thanksgiving, they were able to schedule the installation right away. On the day of installation, the workers showed up on time, and they completed the job very quickly (about 2-3 hours). The installers were knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer any questions. The only minor issue after the installation was that some of the gas pilot lights weren't relit. When we noticed that the water heater and oven didn't work, we called their customer service, and they sent someone out right away to correct the problem. So far, the new furnace has been working great, and I have no complaints. It's a comfort to know that they guarantee all of their work. If ever there was a problem with the furnace, I know they would be able to respond very quickly to address the issue, which is very important during the cold weather season. Unlike some other companies, Hurley & David seems to really want new business, is customer focused, and they are grateful to be of service. Based on my experience, I feel very confident in recommending this company.

Perfect. Scheduling was easy, they are very anxious to keep customers happy.
Description of Work: I had a 2 year old steam boiler in my mother's 85 year old home, that was overfilling. I realized, after speaking with a few knowledgeable heating specialists that while steam boilers appear simple, they are not. The control systems can be complicated, especially on units that have an auto-feed added to them. Hurley and David's technician spent time diagnosing the problem and found a faulty low level sensing unit that needed replacement. Since it was late in the day (they scheduled their work to accommodate my schedule as best as possible), he had to come back the next day to install the unit. When he did he also cleanded the system and tightened valves on the radiators taht were leaking. NO problems since he fixed the boiler. I signed up for the "club", and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Hurley & David. As a final note: I was on the gas company's maintenance program. They send repairmen three times and were unable to resolve the problem. I dropped this program in favor of Hurley & David's, after the above event.

He came at 8 a m put his little booties on. introduced himself. we showed him downstairs. did not see him again until he was ready to leave. I have no idea what he did while he was here.

He was very nice, on time, I guess he did what he was suppose. How would we know? But our furnace was fairly new so there really should not have been any really problems. No service ever took place. I called the company and told them that I would be looking else ware for services needed.
Description of Work: I called and made an appt to have Hurley & David service my furnace and an additional appt to measure my house for a new up to date furnace. The day of the service I received a call stating that Hurley and David would be unable to keep the appt and wanted to reschedule. I needed to have the furnace looked at and at first they wanted to reschedule 11 days after the first appt, unacceptable. I found another company showed up the next day and are working as I write the review. Secondly, the other appt to have the house measured for a new furnace that worker called and asked me if he could come by a day early to do the estimate. I told him that no one was at the house and I wanted to keep our original day and time. He called me back later that day and said he had a personal thing he wanted to do and could take care of me on Sunday, anytime. I said that I would call him back if that could be arranged. Unfortunately I forgot his number on my desk at work and was unable to call him back. The problem is that he never showed up on the Saturday the scheduled day nor did he call me to check if Sunday would be OK.

From time to time, especially when the weather first gets hot or cold and in cases of extremely hot or cold temperatures, the demand for repairs for people who have heating or air conditioning that is broken down increases dramatically, usually with little or no forewarning. We try to leave adequate space in our schedule to meet all of the demand, but sometimes demand is even larger than what we can leave open. When this happens we attempt to reschedule appointments for homeowners who have systems that are working. We should have asked your permission to reschedule the appointment. I apologize that our client care representative did not work with you to schedule an agreeable time to schedule your service (even if that meant not rescheduling and another customer who called after you and did not have heat would have to go without service). We will do better in the future and I thank you very much for the feedback. Your feedback gives me the opportunity to address this issue and make changes to our procedures to ensure client satisfaction in the future. Our Comfort Advisor having a personal issue should have called our office to attempt to handle the estimate at your home with another Comfort Advisor or to ensure that our staff connected with you to schedule an agreeable alternate time. We have had a discussion with the comfort advisor that was scheduled to come out to your home that he should have reported his personal conflict to his supervisor rather than trying to rearrange the schedule on his own. I am truly sorry that he took it upon himself to try to reschedule. His behavior was outside of our normal operating procedure. I have already changed our dispatching system for estimates to prevent this from happening in the future. I will be sending you a letter to ensure that you get our apology directly. I called H & D to follow up on a disastrous experience with a different HVAC company. Their technician was prompt and professional in their initial visit in the Fall of 2011, and I liked that they charged a very reasonable, flat diagnostic fee of $99. They needed the outside temperature to heat up in order to do further work, so they returned in June of 2012. In June, they made multiple visits trying to fix the mysterious problem of boiling/surging noises in our upstairs A/C. They worked with different hypotheses, but could not identify the problem. The technician they sent was very polite, communicated well, and was clearly committed to resolving the problem. A follow up call put me in touch with their Service Manager, who was professional, collaborative, and available throughout. He took the problem to a staff meeting for additional ideas, and was honest about the fact that no one in the company could explain the origin of the noises (the trouble started the day after an installation of an evaporation pan, by a different company).We agreed that I would pay the flat charge for the multiple diagnostic visits ($600) and that he would send a tech to try a solution, despite not being able to diagnose the exact nature of the problem. He agreed that he would work with me on price if the attempt failed.On 7/2/12, the same technician who had been working with us came to install an expansion valve, hoping this would treat the symptoms (I liked the consistency of this; other companies have sent different techs each visit, which was not ideal). It worked, and again they were right at their estimate of $640.I will call them in the future without hesitation, and will confidently refer friends and family.
Description of Work: Diagnostic work on our upstairs zone of our central A/C unit. After not finding the source of the surging/boiling noises in the refrigerant line, they suggested a potential remedy.They did additional testing for the source of the problem and, failing a clear cause, chose to install an expansion valve.

With the exception of having to wait through a hot muggy weekend for the service call, everything went extremely well, and was very happy with the work.. My wife was impressed with the boot covers the technician wore whenever he came in the house. Was able to use the Angie's list coupon to save money.
Description of Work: Called Hurley and David on Thursday May 24 because Air Conditioner Compressor wasn't turning on. The soonest they could come was Tuesday Morning. The came and found that the disconnect box had shorted. Replace the box, and checked the system. Everything was fine after that.

We got them from Angie’s List and what we saw said they were excellent. We had some problems that showed up but it was nothing on their part. When we are getting a major renovation of our heating system, things like that occur. They were real prompt to come back when we had a little issue when they replaced the furnace. There was too much air flow going upstairs so they came in and put a damper to control everything at no charge. Their policy is ‘it is right or it is free’. They went the extra mile and made sure we were happy before they were done. Their price is a little high but it is okay as we do not mind paying a little extra for the quality of their service.
Description of Work: We used Hurley & David Inc. to get our heating system replaced. We have them come in and do our annual maintenance on the equipment now.

We have just moved to the area and knew that the gas boiler would need to be replaced in the near future.I had looked up Heating contractors on Angie's list and had seen the positive reviews that Hurley and David had received. The next week I saw an ad in a local newspaper offering an $89 special to inspect air conditioning systems. I planned to call to schedule an appointment, but before I could we had a couple of warms days over the weekend and turned on the central A/C. It wasn't working so we called Hurley and David on Monday morning. They sent a technician, Adam that same afternoon, who found and corrected the problem immediately, Apparently a swtich had been installed backwards. Adam continued his inspection, cleaned the unit, set the thermostat, and said that he would have someone contact us about getting a quote on the furnace and hot water system. The bill was $89! We thought that since this was a service call, we would be charged accordingly and we very much appreciated this. Adam explained the service contract options that were available but did not pressure us to purchase it. We did so anyway. We look forward to doing more business with Hurley and David in the future. We were very impressed with their responsiveness to our need especially since we were new customers, and with Adam's professionalism and follow through. We have a representative coming out on Saturday to look at our furnace. Being new to the area it was a pleasure to find Hurley and David.
