Response from Hurley & David Inc
Thank you for the very constructive review. There are many different types of systems of many different vintages installed in the Springfield Area. Each type of equipment, vintage, and manufacturer has different sequences of operation, parts, combustion technologies, etc. In fact, a lot of the new equipment has trouble shooting codes that require reference to the manual. Since there is such a variety of equipment out in the world, we encourage our technicians to consult manuals, manufacturers, and other available resources. (Much like a doctor would consult medical texts and journals to help formulate a diagnosis and course of treatment). Looking into your history it looks like you have a high efficiency wall mounted boiler. These systems have the most variation across the product category and usually require reference to the manual for trouble shooting codes and to decipher how the individual manufacturer has the control scheme set up. Further complicating the service of these systems, many have 3rd party controls specified by the installing contractor. We do specific training on a number of these models, but we focus even more on how to find the answers. The end result is that we get the heat running and do the repair properly, and because we have Straight Forward Pricing, if a technician is having trouble with a scenario or needs to spend time with manufacturer's tech support department you do not pay for that time, only an agreed upon rate for the repairs. If you have any specific concerns about your service, please let me know. Thank You, Gary T Woodruff - Residential Manager.
