I called E.F.Winslow early on Monday afternoon on Martin Luther King Day regarding a leak in our hot water expansion tank. Water was leaking out and getting progressively worse, though not serious at this point. As I have used this company before, they had my information on file. I mentioned that it was not an emergency and could wait until the next day, but the dispatcher said someone would be there that afternoon. Around 5 pm, I received a call from the serviceman, letting me know he would be arriving shortly, and he did. Very prompt. He worked on the heater for about 1/2 hour - 45 minutes. He replaced the old rusted out unit. He also inspected the heater and noted that one of the pressure relief valves was rusted out. He explained why this happens, explained to me how to prevent it, and replaced it with a new one. He showed me the rusty valve.He submitted a bill to me and I paid him, he was gone in one hour. Service was quick, efficient and professional. I should mention that I was not given a quote prior to work being done, nor did I ask for one.

Everything was scheduled by Winslow and everything went well.

Estimator is very knowledgeable and professional, offering several optional solutions. Professional installation job was done but a few pieces of old piping were left behind.

Very well, he came, diagnosed the problem and fixed it.

The initial impression of EF Winslow was very professional. We had 2 different employees come to give estimates for the work. This was a good experience. Once they sent the employee for the job, he was extremely unprofessional, rude, arrogant, and aloof. We did not feel comfortable with him in the house and were not confident with his work. He was not flexible and said switches could not be placed in logical places as it was too much work to snake the wires. He did not walk through the jobs when he was done, he took all the instructions for the fans and was just plain rude. We called to complain to the main office and they didn't apologize. We tested the switches and to our horror, two switches "arced", live sparks. We called back and insisted they send someone new to fix the jobs and check the work done. They ended up sending the same guy, he was horrible and extremely rude. We sent him away and called again, they sent another tech out and he was slightly better, but still very unprofessional. We wrote a letter to the original contact who had said if there are any issues, please do not hesitate to tell us .... Well, we did and no one acknowledged our letter or the unprofessional manner of their employees. $2200.00 is quite a bit of money to spend to be completely dissatisfied and you pay up front. We would NEVER use or recommend EF Winslow's.

Winslow responded quickly and completed the work in one day. They diagnosed the problem correctly. Workers were very professional.

They were awesome. Communicated clearly with each other and with me. See above. The initial repair person and the plumber were both outstanding. I am grateful to have found them.

They provided their estimate when they said they would.

We have used them throughout the years and they are very good. I will use them again in the future.

The plumber did a great job. He drained entire heating system, replaced tankless hot water heater with new gasket, repiped, replaced a back flow assembly, auto vent and temp mixer valve. Not only is our hot water heated more efficiently, the radiators are hotter and, best of all, the oil burner comes on less often! He called 10 minutes before arrival-- a nice courtesy -- and arrived on time.

They are great. I have worked with them. I recommended them because there is nothing negative about them. They are reasonable. They did a great work. Every Christmas I have pipe blocked due the roots. This time, after they told me what to do and I did it. I have had no trouble since then. I did not have to call them to my house for this Christmas. They charged something for the first 15 minutes because they had to come out here. It takes half an hour or more to come out here. They only charged for the time they were here. Things are really expensive here, but they are terrific. They were perfect. They were polite, and they got it done. It worked well and I had no trouble. They gave me advice on how to prevent the problem from happening again, and it happened never again.

They were very good as far as working things out and presenting the proposal, but I thought it was too high, so I didn't do anything more. They seemed very good and professional. I had no real problem except for the price. I might consider contacting them again in the future.

On the plus side, the plumber arrived on schedule several days after my call. He couldn't figure out how to secure it either, and spent quite a lot of time trying different methods. Finally, he secured the faucet so it doesn't "flop", but also doesn't swing between the two sinks; it's fixed position is centered on the left hand sink bowl. I can pull out the spray nozzle to add water to the right-hand bowl. But I'm only marginally satisfied. I had several other small tasks to assign him, but decided not to after this performance .

They were very prompt and did a good job. They came at the earliest and the quality of the job was good. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

They arranged a convenient time and were right on time. Brien was very professional and answered many questions as I have not had septic for many years and needed a "refresher" on some of the basics. As we purchased this house recently and wasn't sure where the septic tank was, EF Winslow pulled the records from Town Hall eliminating a step for me. All in all, they were great.

A job well-done by a man who takes pride in what he does. Brian methodically located the tank, neatly carved away the grass, opened the tank , pumped away, tested the flow, and finally replaced the grass in such a way that you could hardly detect the disturbance. I can't imagine how he could have done a better job.

They came, listened, got their equipment, cleaned out the line, billed and left. fast, friendly, done.

I needed service on my central A/C. I called several companies and E. F. Winslow was able to schedule an appointment within a couple of days as opposed to several weeks. The company told me to call the morning of the appointment for a time frame. I called and was told to expect the service tech between 12-2PM. The employee called me @ 11:45AM and arrived @ 12:00PM. I explained my concerns and he went to work. Upon completion of the maintainance he explained the work and answered my questions. All work completed satisfactorily, in a professional and timely manner.

They are excellent. They maintain our heating and air-conditioning unit. We continue using them because they are always here on time and they always call back and confirm that they are coming and the date that they are coming. Their work has been excellent.

It was nice having one company that can do all this and they did a good job. (Often a furnace guy won't do other plumbing.) Only uncomfortable thing was their service man asked my wife to go to Home Depot to get new hoses for the washer, leaving him alone in the house.

Everything wnet smoothly from my first meeting with the estimator until completion of equipment installation and duct cleaning.

I have never used them. They were friendly when they came to give the quote. They have a vacuum center, and I was pleased with the service I got from them.

I asked the technician from Winslow to get back to us with a price to replace our furnace. They did and quoted a price of $6000. Since I was in the building business for 40 years and the price seemed excessive I decided to obtain additional bids. I researched other contractors in the area for the quality of their work and contacted four other companies for bids. The first two companies through the door inspected the furnace and told me the same story - "we would love to sell you a new furnace but there is nothing wrong with either your heat exchanger, or your furnace". After receiving a bill from Winslow for servicing, I decided to have an independent check on our furnace as to the question of whether CO was leaking into the heat exchanger. I called our local fire department in Chatham, and they sent several members of the force out with equipment to check CO concentrations both in the air and in our blood. No CO was found. When I confronted the individual in Winslow's billing department with the facts of the matter I was told that if we presented a copy of the report from the fire department and pictures to substantiate that we hadn't installed a new furnace that they would remove the service charge which we had paid. In my opinion Winslow used questionable data to attempt to spook my wife and myself into selling us a furnace which we didn't need. Hours of our time, local contractor's time and the fire department's time were wasted as a result. Based on the facts of the matter and Winslow's unsympathetic response to our complaint (which wasted hours of additional time in procuring the report , sending it, and photographing our furnace) I would certainly never use this company's services again.

They were professional. They arrived when scheduled and submitted estimates in writing in a timely manner. I would recommend and use again.
