Jim's schedule was very tight, but he kept in touch til we could find a convenient time. I had what another electrician had estimated at 2 to 3 hours of work. Jim called ahead to tell me he was on his way, arrived on time, and completed everything in just under one hour. He was very capable and efficient and easy to work with. I'd recommend him without hesitation.

Jim was very professional and did a great (and quick) job. I am always worried about how much a contractor is going to charge, and I was really pleased by the cost. I wanted to find a good electrician to use in the future, and I plan to use Jim if I can.

The whole process went well. The JDO owner electrian made an initial visit to check out projects listed in our request. He pointed out some needed code fixes. The estimate listed each project with the price so that we will have a good record for tax purposes. The electrician who worked with the owner electrician was also very good.

Jim came out to my home within a few hours of being called. He's always courteous. His prices are very reasonable. I will call him again in the future.

It went great even though it took 3 hours. Jim arrived for what was supposed to be a quick job but when he took the cover plates off the wall he discovered a slew of odd wiring decisions made by the previous owner. He troubleshooted like an expert and was able to get both the switches working as well as fix the poor wiring setup. Would definitely use his services again.

Jim came for an an estimate and provided very helpful guidance and suggestions, and was responsive to emails & calls to discuss scheduling. On the day of the work, Jim and his assistant were professional and friendly. Jim was very clear about the work to be done up front. They finished up and cleaned up well. Jim took the time to walk me through the details and maintenance of the new smoke/CO alarms. Prices were not cheap, but not out of line with other work we've done. Would definitely work with them again.

My house is 100 yrs old and a switch leading to the basement had to be replaced. The person who replaced it was not an electrician and installed it incorrectly because the wiring was a bit confusing on the newer pilot toggle switches for installing in an old house. The problem was searched out, the wiring safely connected and all is FINE. I would definitely recommend this company to my neighbors and give them an A+ for fast fast response and problem solving!

All 6 smoke detectors had gone off 3 times in the previous 24 hours for absolutely no reason. Called Jim first thing on 8/31/15 and he came by within a couple of hours. He recommended that they be replaced with a better type. He returned later that afternoon to complete the work. He also recommended that I return the 6 smoke detectors to the store where I bought them and I was able to get a full refund. I can't say enough good things about Jim and JDO and would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend him.

This was a small job replacing old wiring which he seemed happy to do. On time, understood the request, repeated it back to me at length, to verify his understanding. Was able to do it very soon, when he appeared with his helper. Once again, very clear about scope of work and price. Made helpful suggestions, wasted no time (seemed very busy with appointments), very agreeable. Work looked excellent, actually did a little more than he promised to do, clean-up excellent. Highly recommended.

I had this service done in 2012 for $75 by another electrician. Called JDO for to schedule another inspection (due to a different insulation job), and he wanted $350 to do the inspection. I knew this wasn't a reasonable price, so I told him I'm going to shop around. Then he started dropping the price, down to $300, but this still wasn't reasonable and I didn't want to do business like this. I got the work done for $125 by another Angie's List electrician. Approximate Cost: 350.00

I had a bad experience with them. They worked the whole day. At some point I had to leave. The job was almost done so I left my check. When I came back home, the ceiling had a crack and nobody was even there! I understand that working in our attic is difficult but if one makes a mistake, then an apology or at least an explanation is expected. At the end of the day I called them but they ended up yelling at me. They said that the crack was not a big deal and should be expected during renovation! Next day they called to apologize and offered to come back to fix it. I declined.

The reason why I used them was because they are all ?A?s? on Angie?s List. They have good reviews. I was satisfied when they did the inspection.

Overall Jim was great. I was able to schedule a same day appointment for him to check out my house. Later that night he provided me a reasonable quote for the work required and we scheduled the work to be performed within the next couple of days. Jim came after the huge snow storm despite limited parking and was courteous with tracking snow into the apartment. Jim took approximately 4 hours to complete the job and the end product was quality. I would recommend him for future electrical services.

Jim did a great job. He came when he said he would, was very personable, very professional in his work, and did a careful cleanup after he was done. When I had problems with the new thermostat, he came back twice, once at night and once on a weekend afternoon. He contacted the company that made the thermostat to get answers and really persevered to get it working. I would highly recommend him.

Jim made the trip out to our place the day after we called him despite the horrible Boston weather conditions. He communicated with me ahead of time to make sure he had what he needed to get the job done in a single trip and so I would know when to expect him. Once on sight he was professional (wore booties to protect floors) and explained to me the problem and what he was doing so I knew what was going on. He did the job quickly and cleanly and things have been working great ever since. He even called later that night to make sure everything was working. Highly recommend.

Jim came to our house twice to review the job - many electricians will not do this. I reached out to several others and they just gave an email quote, which is fine but that doesn't really do either side any good. Jim made the extra effort to come out on two Saturdays and make sure he understood the job and could give accurate pricing before he came to actually do the job. He and his assistant, Chico, were very prompt and professional and both are also just decent, down-to-earth guys. Each piece was installed with great care and everything looks amazing. I would use JDO again without hesitation.

I got 3 quotes from 3 companies that were reviewed in Angie's list. Jim was the only contractor that actually wrote down what I wanted and provided a quote against what we had discussed. While not the lowest quote, I went with Jim because of his professionalism. I made the right choice. He showed up on time, got the work done in the timeframe that he had described, and the work was done exactly according to the quote. I highly recommend Jim, and plant using for all future electrical work in my house.
