We asked for a quote and Jim gave it to us right on the spot after measuring out the job. I asked for the angies list discount and he redid the calculations and we agreed on the price. I didn't want him to start until I got a plumber sorted out which took a while. Jim would periodically call me to see if I was ready which I appreciated--he even tried to help by suggesting a plumber he knew. When it was ready he cam and completed the job at the time agreed upon. I ended up asking him to do some additional work, which he quoted an additional price for which I felt was reasonable. I was very happy with the quality of the work. The invoice he gave was the exact original quote + the extra work I asked for.

My wife and I were very impressed by the resumes of both the owner and his assistant. Future users of their services would be well advised to note their backgrounds. We parted friends.

We were in the process of purchasing a new(old)home with a 203(k) FHA renovation mortgage. Jim worked within our lender's strict guidelines to become a validated 203(k) contractor. He gave us an estimate, pre-purchase, for $2350 for the panel & service upgrade. I was impressed with his thoroughness and price, so asked him to perform the work. Once he began, I asked him about the dryer outlet in the basement. He gave me a price of $350 for that addition work and materials. All work was performed during the time he laid out and for the quoted price. Jim was very reachable by phone any time I had any questions. I would work with him again.

Jim was very easy to work with and did a great job! He responded to my email request quickly and we set up an appointment for an estimate within days. He completed the work the following week over the course of 2 days. He explained everything very clearly and his estimate was right on, about $200 lower than the other electrician we got an estimate from. He cleaned up after himself meticulously and left our rooms as he found them, only better! I will definitely work with him again in the future!

Returned my call right away. He came to do an on-site estimate, and his thoroughness earned him the job. I was confident that the job world turn out well with no surprises because he spent the time figuring out exactly how he'd do the job. When I balked at the high price, he came back with a great option to do part of the work now (install the new box and circuit) allowing the flexibility to finish the job later if needed (upgrade service to 200 A). The job went very well. He was able to start in a few days vs his competition's couple weeks, he showed up on-time, got the job done in 1 day rather than his promised 2. Cleaned up well. No problems with job. Would have liked to see him spend more time labeling the circuits... I'll have to do this on my own by trial and error. Probably skipped this in order to get done in 1 day (it was a long day...he spent over 10 hours at the house). Overall, very professional, very good work. Would use again. I found his prices a little higher than the average.

I was looking for someone close and he either answered immediately or called right back. I thought he was expensive but he came when he said and did the work. The work was excellent and did not take excessive amounts of time. He performed efficiently and effectively, but I felt he was over priced.

The job went well. Jim and his employee were punctual, careful and neat. They explained everything they were doing. When Jim found a few areas where we needed additional work, his charges for this work were fair.

Very professional and thorough in explaining what he would do and he repeated back to me what I asked for so that I was sure it was understood. It was a complicated job. I didn't go through with the work because it would cost more and take longer than I'm ready for at the moment.

Jim responded quickly to my phone call by returning my call, inspecting the work site and providing me with a verbal estimate. He prioritized the work by immediately replacing and installing the smoke detectors first and then returning on two occasions to complete the other items. His estimates were right on target. Jim Kept me informed about the work and the charges. He was easy to work with, and I would readily use his services again.

Jim responded promptly to our query, came by and gave us an estimate to which he stuck - had the job done in one day, successfully the first time and recommended further safety measures which we agreed to. Overall he did a great job, and our basement electricity is on good footing again.

It was a little hard to schedule a time for him to come, he kept saying he would call me at the beginning of the week to schedule. But on that Monday, he would push me to the next week. Once we had a set time, things went very smoothly. He was a half hour late, but called to let me know. I am extremely happy with the work. He also cautioned me ahead of time about the problems he might run into, which I appreciated. Thankfully, everything went smoothly! He was a little expensive, the price for the sconces was fair, but he charged me for swapping out the toggle switches as a completely separate project, which was like $150. I thought that was a lot since he was already there to do the scones, and it took about 10 minutes. But overall, I was very happy with the end result.

I called Jim and he responded quickly. We set up a time and he showed up promptly. He clearly explained the work he needed to do and gave me the estimate then and there. I was surprised how much it cost ($495), but I think it was a function of both the additional complexity of the fireplace, and my lack of knowledge about the cost of electrical work. Nevertheless, it still seems a bit on the steep side (I'm marking the price as "fair" on the grading system). I got home and the outlet looked great. The hole in the wall was patched, spackled and painted. I'll probably have to go over it again with more spackle, but otherwise it was fine.

It definitely went well. The lighting in the hallway has vastly improved. He picked it out for me and it was excellent choice. I will definitely use this company again.

Jim came as scheduled for the estimate. A few days later I called him and he gave me some numbers and we talked about scheduling. He did the job with his assistant with no problems and charged me as estimated. There were no problems. His price was also lower than that of a few other electricians I researched, and he also did some nice extras like installing some light fixtures in the basement.

Generally happy with their work. They were able to give me a quote on the spot and at what I believe was a reasonable rate. In a couple of cases things weren't wired right intermediately through the process (a live-in renovation) and they came back quickly to resolve the issue. Cleaned up a lot of legacy wiring and brought everything to code. Felt comfortable having them work without my being on-site.

I called JDO Electric for estimate. Jim picked up the phone himself. Said he was tied up at the moment but would call me right back, which he did. We then scheduled to get an estimate that Sat. Very prompt and professional. I had gotten other estimates and although he was actually higher than the others, he would be able to do the work that week and the price ended up matching another estimate. He knew I was concerned about getting a smoke certificate from the fire department and was able to schedule and complete the work within a few days. Once the work was completed he was diligent about getting the work inspected by the wire inspector to ensure compliance and helping me secure the smoke certificate. I had called other electricians who never returned my calls so it was great to have Jim and his guy do the work

It was so quick I barely had time to digest what was being done. But it was done well. And afterwards I had a question on a Saturday night and JDO answered the phone and was very gracious, even though the problem was not of his doing.

They were very prompt, reliable and did good work.

Fantastic. We're not handy people, so they could have fed us a line but they didn't. The two of them were there for a good 2 plus hours, did a thorough diagnostic and performed the work quickly, cleanly, efficiently and politely - all for a very fair price. Highly recommended.

Jim was busy, so it took us a week or so to get a date on which we agreed, but he always showed up when promised, and really knew his stuff. He solved two difficult problems. Very professional in appearance.

Jim was very responsive and organized - he came when he said he would (a big plus already!), worked cleanly and efficiently, and kept me apprised about likely costs at every step. He was also happy to discuss the likely cost and impact of more wide-ranging repairs (which in the end I chose not to embark on). He did a very good job with all of the various items listed above and left the areas he worked in clean afterwards. I am very satisfied with all the work he did, and with the overall experience that I had. He will definitely be my first choice to call again for any future household electrical projects.

I called several electricians to get estimates and JDO was the first to call back. He came to the house within two days, gave a reasonable estimate -- slightly below others -- and indicated he could start the work the following week. It took two electricians two days to finish the job, but they did a great job.

It went better than expected. I would highly recommend.

Jim DeOliveira, the electrician and his assistant were very professional and performed very clean work. They were able to come out on a Saturday on somewhat short notice. They finished the first part of the job that Saturday and returned the following Saturday to complete the second part of the job. Their fee is approx. $95/hr. Jim was also helpful in finding a couple of other issues that needed to be addressed for safety purposes. I would highly recommend!
