I've just moved to the area and didn't know where to begin to find an electrician; thanks to Angie's List I found a good one! Jim returned my call promptly and managed to find time for my project more quickly than he'd estimated (just two days later). There were three chandelier-type fixtures to be removed, which he and his assistant did with the minimum of mess and disturbance. The new fixtures were put in right away and look beautiful. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. The price was less than I expected it would be. I would not hesitate to recommend Jim and JDO Electric to anyone.

I called the company at 6:00 in the evening figuring I would leave a message. John personally answered and said he would be able to come out the following day. He came out at the appointed time, quickly got to the root of the problem, and was able to expalin it professionally as well as briefly. He fixed it on the spot and charged fairly for the service. I will definitely do business with him again.

We'd saved up a number of small projects, and while Jim was here, had him look at a ceiling fan in our son's bedroom. The fan was 12+ years old and we could no longer change some of the light bulbs without twisting the entire socket. Jim said the old one was no longer safe and advised us to get a new fan. When Jim took down the old one, we discovered that it hadn't been installed/grounded properly (the previous owners were DIYers). He explained the steps that would be needed to install the new one which could include opening up a bigger hole in the ceiling until he found the right anchoring point. I felt confident that I knew what to expect going into this project and there were no surprises. He and his assistant were on time, professional and clean. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone.

Heating system was not working in my tenants apartments. I searched Angie's list for an electrician in the area with high ratings. Jim was responsive to my initial call, accommodated my schedule by doing the installation on a Saturday and was very helpful in showing me and my tenant how to use the settings. Professional, helpful, timely and knowledgeable. I will always call JDO for my electrical services from now on.

He did a great job! He was available on short notice, was informative and straightforward with me about the existing state of the wiring, and proceeded to rebuild and rationalize the breaker panels so that they now make sense and are not likely to burn down the house, at what seemed to me a very fair price. He and assistant Chico also traced and labeled all of the new breakers.

Overall, everything went very smoothly. Our condo solicited bids for updated electrical, new meters, and new circuit boxes in March. We selected JDO based on their fair price and also on their professionalism to submit a bid in a timely manner and follow up on the progress of the decision. Jim from JDO let us know when the work would occur, did the job when he said and was done in a week. Everything was done quickly and neatly without any surprises. We are extremely satisfied.

I called this morning and they were here within 4 hours. The repair for the dishwasher ended up being much easier than expected and he was done quickly and efficiently.

The work went smoothly and without any surprises. JDO was responsive to initial communications, the work to be performed was clearly described, the work was scheduled and performed promptly, and the work was done exactly as expected.

Jimmy was fantastic, very punctual response, and did everything to perfection. I have already scheduled him to come back for more work. We live in an old tudor that has tons of character, but a lot of old wiring. I bought a new chandelier for our dining room that was very expensive and I was anxious about having it installed, especially with the crumbling old wires our original chandelier hung from. Jimmy's expertise put me at ease and he did a fantastic job installing it, along with another light fixture, and even did some extra work on the spot I requested. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing electrical/lighting work.

Jim was responsive, very good with the woman living in the house, did good work in a timely manner. We would hire him again.

I originally called Jim just as he was leaving on vacation but he let me explain what I was looking for and then called me back promptly after he was back in town. I appreciated not having to "chase" him down to follow up -- he called when he said he would, before I could call him. Jim purchased the four replacement smoke detectors and installed them without any problem, even though one of the units was in a particularly hard-to-reach location. He also took time to explain what he was doing, and responded to my questions in a straightforward, professional manner. If he doesn't know the answer, he checks it out and gets back with the information. I'm happy to have found an electrician I trust and feel comfortable working with, and will definitely call him the next time I need electrical work done.

We called J>D>O> Electric. The boss came to look at the work to be done and gave us a price. In his website he sya he gives a 10% senior discount. When asked for it, he said he gave us a good price... Not sure about pricing, did not interview other electricians He sent his helper the next day and the job was done in about 3 hours

Jim was very professional and thorough from the beginning. I was impressed with how long he spent just evaluating the job, and his price was much more reasonable than several other electricians I had do estimates. He was always prompt and efficient. My only regret is that the light switch is a little too close to the doorway making it awkward to reach coming in, but I can only blame myself for not saying something. I would definitely work with Jim on any of my future electrical needs.

Jim was great! He offered us suggestions, evaluated the situation on the initial meeting and stuck to his estimate! He has great follow through and was extremely accommodating! He was also more forth coming with information when we initial met. Not like some that just wanted to price out the job and leave. I know nothing about electrial work, but I knew what we needed and he was able to provide that and educate me at the same time. I will definitely use him again on any future electrical projects both personal and for the building! A true find!

I had multiple small jobs for my condo that needed to be completed. We went through my list over the phone, which Jim then gave me an estimate. He and his guy did an excellent job.

- We tripped a breaker that powered our bedroom, library, and front porch. - We couldn't get it to come back on by moving the breaker switch to the other side. - We scheduled an appointment with J.D.O. Electric to diagnose and fix the problem. - He worked hard to set an appointment time that would accommodate our busy schedules. - It only took Jim and his assistant a few minutes to discover the source of the problem. - When Jim stepped out on the front porch, he said he could smell smoke. - He lifted the lid on the outlet cover and smoke poured out. - The outlet had gotten wet and had started to smoke. If the breaker had not tripped, a fire could have started. (!) - Thanks to Jim, I now know that when it snows, the outlet can get wet through condensation if it is encased in a snow drift. - To prevent this in the future, we need to remove all snow from around the outlet. - Jim even gave me a lesson in how to "exercise the breakers" once a year. Jim and his assistant were knowledgeable, efficient, clean (they even wore those blue-hospital-shoe-cover-thingys) and friendly. We had power restored in 15 minutes for $ 220 ($195 Base Labor Fee + $25 Materials) I would highly recommend Jim and his team to anyone who needs a good electrician.

I called Jim in the morning after I noticed some outlets were not working (and flipping the circuit breakers did not appear to work). He came the same day, during the time he said he would (end of the day), and fixed the problem quickly without making me feel like a moron (I swear I had tried all of the circuit breakers, but he showed me one that was off). He also replaced some smoke detectors ( I had the parts already).

JIm was great. He made three visits to cover different projects. When I had a problem with one of the circuits after the first visit. I called him up and he came right back that night and stayed until it was fixed. Very professional and first rate.

I have used Jim in the past and, once again. he responded quickly to my e/mail about some wet wires in the basement as a result of a plumbing problem. Jim was helpful in coordinating with the plumbing schedule and stepping in when he could do the work, He inspected the area, reported what he felt had to be done including some small additional work and completed the job in short order. I have a lot of confidence in him. See my previous reports.

Did a great job, but it was hard to get him here to do job because he was always busy. Other than the wait, I would recommend.

In the beginning, there was a mix-up but he had permission from my husband to do the work. I gave him an unfair rating across the board at first. Now the grades accurately reflect the work.
