Description of Work: I had an electrical problem that made me concerned about safety: a light that worked intermittently and flickered on occasion. JDO was busy with a big project but came out on a weekend to diagnose and fix the problem because he knew I was worried. He reviewed our electrical setup in general (in a 90 year-old house) and we engaged him to come out a few weeks later to upgrade circuit breakers and install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.Very professional, punctual, and knowledgeable.

Description of Work: I had JDO provide advice upon reviewing my electrical system after water damage as described in my previous review, and they did an adequate job. I would hire Jim again.

Description of Work: I contacted Jim because I lost my dining room lights and some outlets. Checking on my circuit breaker box in the cellar, I saw sparks and heard sizzling. I called Jim and he made a quick appointment 1st thing Monday morning. He arrived promptly, was courteous, and examined the circuits and explained to me that they were old, deteriorating and a danger. He was able to get the dining room back up quickly, and made an appointment to return 1st thing next morning, after he would purchase the replacement breakers. Again he kept his appointment promptly, and he and his team had the whole box retrofitted, cleaned, rewired and organized in about 2 1/2 hours. As a hotel general manager I am used to dealing with outside contractors for specialized projects. I would hire Jim again in a heartbeat. He was professional, friendly and competent.I felt the cost was fair considering the work done and that he was willing to come quickly considering the situation. I sincerely recommend him to anyone seeking an electrician in the area.

Description of Work: I have commerical fire panel and smoke detectors installed through the home and apartments. At first, I thought I could just swap out the old and replace with new. However Jim came out and was nice enough to say I would need the whole system replaced. Jim was very flexible and prompt with his estimate, but upon his arrival at the job site he mentioned my job exceeded his scope of work. But he is referring me to companies who specialize in commercial fire systems at affordable price. Jim is very professional and will use his company for future electrical work.
