Designer fantastic and had good advice, didn't try to oversell or upsell in ways that were not valuable to us. Product is similar if not the same to more expensive vendors we've used in the past.

They did a very good job this my second time using Closets By Design. I recommend them to anyone wanting to utilize every square inch of space in a closet. It's a good investment for people who won a house or a condo. Because you'll get your money back when the time comes to sell. Because you have built-ins. Plus the cost is not that expensive by any means.

Very informative meeting/ consultation!

After filling out the online form requesting a consultation, I was called within minutes to confirm the choice of time. The designer, Nicole, arrived promptly and made great conversation while she worked. I was home alone with my two little ones and she worked efficiently around the chaos to take measurements of the two spaces. We had just moved in and gone from a walk-in closet at our other house (designed by the same company) to a reach in closet. Nicole worked with the designs to maximize our space. After approving the design on paper and answering all our questions, she called the office and booked an appointment to have the install done within weeks.

Great! We had quotes from other closet companies, but Closets by Design seemed to be the only company who actually cared about our business. Cindya came out to our house and measured and then sat with me for at least two hours and answered every question I had. I didn't want to sacrifice my dream closet because of $$, so Cindya worked with me to get what I wanted and within our price range. The installer was great, very professional and cleaned everything up when he was done. We had one issue with the wrong knobs installed on drawers, but that was corrected within a week or two of the installation.

Cindya came to our house and was very professional and patient. She came up with some great designs that would work for our closets. We were able to negotiate a price that worked for the both of us which we appreciated. Mike arrive the day of, and completed a two day job in one day. Overall, very pleased and just had Conday come back and price the rest of our closets in our house. They will be back in our home next month to finish up the remaining closets.

My experience with the closets by design was an absolute disaster! Their customer service is beyond horrible! They never return phone calls! And customer satisfaction is not something that they care about! Way too pricey for the quality that you get! When I was unhappy, a manager and the designer came back to review the work that had been done. They then proceeded to humiliate me in my own home, blaming me for having not carefully checked the hand penciled design graph before signing the contract. I believed with 100% confidence that the verbal description by the designer of what our closet was going to look like was going to be true! Unfortunately, it was nothing like we were told it was going to be! It is a totally useless closet space! Thousands of dollars were spent for nothing! They were willing to redo the closet as described in my original consultation at a managers discount of $600. That is after I spent over $5000! I was not willing to give this company one penny more! Working with Closets by Design has been one of the worst decisions I have ever made financially!

I used the Shirley, MA franchise and had an absolutely awful experience! They ignore your calls to the point you have to call them 10 times just to pick up and then never return your calls. The worst customer service, completely unprofessional and extremely overpriced for the quality of work and service provided. They also cancelled on my twice with less than 24 hours notice and they took 2 months to do an installation that took a whole 30 minutes to complete. Save your money and look elsewhere! I wish I looked up reviews before hiring them!

From the moment Annabelle came into my home, I knew I made the right choice in contacting Closets By Design. She took the time to find out exactly what I really wanted, then came up with the perfect design. I was even more excited because the color (Summer Flame) matched a new bureau I had just bought perfectly! When Jeremy and Scott showed up to do the installation, they were extremely professional and even went out of their way to finish off a section of cabinet so that it looked like an actual piece of furniture. I was in contact with Jenn, the manager, a few times as I had a couple of questions and she was always courteous and gracious in her responses. I would highly recommend Closets by Design. As you know, a girl can never have too many clothes or shoes! My newly renovated walk-in closet has become my favorite room in the house!

They are very efficient. They custom design to fit your needs. They are also very responsive with phone calls. They have good product and the cost seemed very reasonable.

Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. To start, the installation crew was very messy, and it soiled the walls and carpets in my daughter's room while it worked. Also, the crew used low-grade finishes and parts, and the overall product was found lacking.

This was not my first home to have custom closets installed, but my first time using Closet By Design. To sum it up, this was a hack job. Terrible from the designer to the administrative support to the installation. They were not able to handle a simple walk-in master closet. On the day of the installation, they sent one installer, no helper. It took him an hour and a half to unload the truck. I had 8+ closet to install ( my entire home ) most were double closets. By the time he unloaded, he was exhausted. It was downhill from there. The designer never suggested that I remove the baseboards so there were huge gaps from the closet system to the wall, which they filled in with plastic fillers. It was cut so poorly to the baseboards, so sloppily, I was shaking my head in disbelief. I could not believe the wasted space. They admitted to cutting my husbands system too small, so they were going to fill in the space also with fillers. Then the shelf fell on on wall causing my wall damage. All the re do's I won't go into... The entry closet was a joke. My "experienced designer" only made it 11" deep. But my closet was 29" deep so when it was installed you could not even see the closet system and the shelves were so narrow on top, I could not fit a decent sized basket. All my complaints were handled, by Jen, the sales manager after many screaming matches. She was really unprofessional in the beginning, but seemed get it together in the end and tried very hard to make things right. In the end I ended up with a closet system that is a joke and a a hack job. This is company franchise is not experienced, or on their game. I called the company's owner, he never had the courtesy to call me back. Stay away from them. They are so book up because they do not have the staff to install, or they have to come out repeated times to fix all of their mistakes.

They came on time. They called that they could be there early. They did what they said they were gonna do. The guys were professional.

We had closets by design do our master bedroom closet few years ago and the designer was outstanding! Came up with ideas and even advised on some color options for the bedroom and bathroom (we had just bought the house) to make everything flow together nicely. Based on this experience, we opted for them to come out and help organize our entry hall closet. Unfortunately, the previous designer no longer was with them. The new person came out and was very pleasant and professional. Came up with ideas and took multiple measurements to ensure that it fit. She sat there for more than an hour to draw the design and go over it with me and then I felt that there was a bit of a hard sell. Also, every time I would say let me think about it, the price would come down further. She finally left and after reviewing the idea called her back and we paid a deposit. I was called a couple of times before the install that the original design could not be done and had to modify which ended up being somewhat minor, but annoying. Finally, on the day of the installation, he arrived on time and looked at the closet for several minutes to try and figure out how to take out the old shelving. I am a little handy and had to help him and show him how to take the shelves down to minimize damage to the walls. Then, he started putting up the new system on top of the dirty floor which I cleaned when he stepped out to get supplies. Once, he completed the job, we noticed that he had installed incorrectly and had to move a couple of pieces which left some more holes in the wall. Finally, he asked if he could use my vacuum cleaner to clean up and then he left. When I looked at it, was not what we had originally imagined. Couple of pieces did not come to the ceiling to maximize use of space. The trim at one end was done so poorly that I could have done a better job with parts from Home depot. Contacted the company and they were responsive, but the reason I was given for not going to the ceiling was to save money (about $20). Finally, we rescheduled for another person to come back and address the issues. The second installer was awesome!!!! He was the installer that had done our master closet and remembered being here. Took several minutes to go over my concerns and then got to work. He checked in along the way to make sure we were happy about what he was doing. He was meticulous about clean up and covered up some of the screw holes that were left behind by the previous installer. Now it is MUCH better, but still a little annoyed that it does not go all the way to the ceiling even though that was the impression I was given at first. In the end, I am conflicted. The first time we used this company it was a great experience and end result and that is why chose them again without hesitation for the second job. Now, I am not sure if I would used them again or not.

When myself and my husband bought our house last year we were thrilled with the walk in closet in the master bedroom. Its a rare thing in these old houses. However it had been outfitted by the previous owners with a rough frame to hang clothes on. So we always knew we would be upgrading this. We saw Closets by design at the Home Expo in Boston and organized for them to come by and provide an estimate. We both have office jobs so it was an evening appointment. A lady called Eva arrived and quickly got down to work measuring the space. I thought that she would just measure and then leave and email us some mockups and a price a few days later. This was not the case Eva sat and drew out every wall to scale and then asked us to decide on the spot what we wanted and where. It was obvious she was under pressure to make a sale that night. It took 4 hours for her to do a detailed job. She was excellent but in this day and age with all the technology we have, to make someone sit and draw out everything seems like a waste of time. It was 10pm before she left! So Eva made her sale and we scheduled our date. The price was pretty high and we had friends tell us that a regular carpenter could do it for much less but we didn't have a recommendation so we went through with it The guys arrived on time and did their job, quickly, without hassle, no complaints. The finished product is BEAUTIFUL and is the envy of all my girlfriends So great job Eva and the guys, but Closets by Design as a company you guys need to move into the 21st century

I was very impressed by the responsiveness of the team. They reported to my house on time the morning after a snow storm. They installed an entire walk in closet and spent time with me making minor modifications to the original plan. They even trimmed out a few areas to make it look better although it was not on the plan. I priced out closet from three different vendors and they all came in about the same price for the same design. I went with Closets by Design based on work they had done for a friend of mine. The closet is great. It is what we were looking for.

. Update- Dec 13. One of the drawers completely fell apart. Left a message for the office, hoping they will come and repair it for free. So many problems. Designer visited and seemed competent but unsure about pricing. I never got a complete invoice despite asking several times. Paid deposit but it took over 6 weeks for the closets to be installed, and not all closets were and quot;readyand quot; so the initial installation was incomplete. Was given a time of 8-12 for installation, team arrived at 9:30 and mentioned I was the only customer ( so why didn't they arrive at 800 so I could get to work? The company was completely unresponsive to concerns about an 8 week delay in installation and missing pieces of the closet. Installers left a mess-- they had no cleaning supplies and and quot;borrowedand quot; a broom but there was debris all through the closet. I refused to pay the balance because the entire closet was not installed, but they billed my credit card ANYWAY without authorization. 2 weeks later they came for final installation and again left a MESS. Please use another closet company, these folks charge a premium price and DO NOT DELIVER. They are unresponsive, and not care about their customers.

The sales rep was extremely pushy, calling every couple of days for updates and after we confirmed the sale we never heard from her again. Debba did get us the most competitive price as obnoxious as she was. The 2 men who came to install were punctual, efficient and cleaned up after themselves. We are extremely satisfied with the design and functionality of the closets.

The design process was fine. The cost was MUCH less than California Closets because I wanted lots of small drawers, which California Closets treats as "custom" work. Installation was quick and painless. Gripes: (1) On one side at the bottom, they inserted an ugly wooden shim which is visible. (2) One drawer is not quite aligned right. There's a lifetime warranty so I'll get the drawer fixed sometime.

Overall it went very well. We had contacted them based on the designs on their web site, and Debba came in for a consultation. She was very professional and knowledgeable, and wound up making suggestions that really improved what we had in mind. We had initially planned to do much more, but then we looked on Angie's list and saw their poor ratings. Having initiated discussions with them, and not wanting to spend the time with someone else, we decided to have a look at the quality of their installations at their showroom, and finally opted to go ahead with a scaled back project. Although there was a little delay in scheduling, they came when promised and installed everything in one day. We are very pleased with the appearance and the performance of the work crew. Debba had warned us in advance of any gaps or issues that might raise concerns, and the net result was even better than I expected. We may or may not have them do more. Some of the prices seem a bit high, but we reallty haven't made direct comparisons. We feel that we got our money's worth.
