He reinforced the hole to accept a large 3' patch of drywall, and sealed it. He was very personable, neat (didn't make any mess at all!), very glad I got his name from Angie's List. The job was done quickly, he responded quickly to my request for a quote, and job was done shortly after that.m

John was very prompt in returning my call for an estimate. Even though he ran into some issues, due to the fact I have a very old home, the price he quoted me was the price he charged. Quality work and a pleasure to deal with.

If you are looking for a plasterer J&M is the one to call!!! We have had our fair share of contractors working on our kitchen remodel and honestly BY FAR J&M was the best in their work and such a pleasure to work with!! John is extremely professional, punctual, courteous, and accurate on his estimates. He is a perfectionist and very good at what he does. In our experience, some perfectionist will get slowed down with a minor hiccup, NOT John. He quickly analyzes the issue and how to master the task with perfection not impacting the initial time line. That is someone who is a master at his trade! Not only is the plastering perfection but so is the process through out. They were very respectful of our home and although knowing we were removing the flooring, they worked using drop cloths and were immediately on top of any area's outside the drop cloths that had dust or plaster particles. They even cleaned a mess I caused! We are thrilled with the work that J&M provided. I wish more contractors were like J&M, it seems very difficult to find a contractor now that is respectful of your time and home.

He arrived on time and did a great job. Very courteous. They took care to clean up and make minimal mess. I would most certainly call them again.

John returned my call promptly, scheduled an estimate, and did the work within a week. His price was competitive (I needed a price that would be approved by my insurance company, and they did't have a problem with it; it was the lowest of 3 bids). The work was beautiful -- perfect scrolls! John and his assistant were a pleasure to work with. They were in and out within half a day, and cleaned up after themselves.

We have a 100 year old home and asked John to plaster our dining room ceiling that was in ok condition but needed a resurfacing. We had two major complications but John, in a very professional manner, was able to suggest a solution that would resolve each issue. He was correct and we were able to proceed without further complication. Our ceiling looks like new! He did an amazing job! I have asked John to come back and do additional work .

J & M did a professional job and nice to deal with. John returned our call promptly, and gave us a good estimate. They arrived when they said they would, and completed the job in one visit. John is a very knowledgeable and outgoing person. I had just moved into my house when pieces of the ceiling started chipping off. Turns out I have old calcimine ceilings that was simply plastered, painted, and patched up numerous times. John and his assistant Jose put new sheetrock on the ceiling and applied new plaster. The textured plaster (skip trowel) looks fantastic, a big improvement over my old ugly popcorn ceiling or whatever you call it. John returned my call quickly, set up an appointment, and was on time during the estimate process. Showed up on time the day work began. They worked all day and I don't think they even took a lunch. The price was very competitive and near what I expected for this project. For instance, another highly rated provider quoted me more than double while rushing me to make a decision. John was very honest and did not rush me into making any decisions. The work was done over 2 days and John cleaned up afterward. He even showed me how to turn on the faucet outside the house on my deck. The water was shut off from the inside. I opened up the water valves but still no water to outside faucet. John went into the basement and showed me which valve to turn on and the water started flowing right away. John is a good handyman also... The only negative is on a small section of the stairway ceiling, it appears he accidentally scraped or touched the new plaster while it was still drying. So there is small section in the stairway ceiling that does not match. When we had a final walkthrough before John left, he noticed this area but didn't really say anything. I have absolutely no issues with his work or quality. This looks like a small mistake and not the result of cutting corners, lack of quality, etc... To be fair, I did not follow up with him about this. I would definitely recommend him and use him again in the future.

It was really a pleasure having John work for us. We are completing a home addition/restoration, and needed the ceiling of the new entryway plastered. The room is small (about 8 x 10) but the job needed to be done carefully because the plastering had to accommodate a semi-circular opening in the ceiling for a spiral stair. I contacted John and within a week, the work was completed. He returned my calls promptly, and was very friendly and accommodating. He is an excellent craftsman, and did an outstanding job for a very reasonable price. He arrived right on time, carefully protected the floors and newly painted staircase from plaster splashes, and cleaned everything up thoroughly. He was also sensitive to the needs of historic homeowners such as us. The completed ceiling looks terrific, and the whole process, from contacting him initially to having the job completed, went perfectly. I recommend him highly!

J+M plastering did an excellent job resurfacing the walls of a room that will serve as my studio. John is great about communication, always gets right back to you and answers any questions and concerns you might have. He and Paul arrived on time, finished the job in a good amount of time, cleaned up and seriously, my walls are fantastic. All around top notch experience.

John was great. He was responsive to calls, and even came by my house to follow up when he had accidentally transcribed my phone number. His estimate was a tad lower than another I got, and I went with him because he was very personable. He took care with protecting our floors. Most importantly, the job is beautifully done. He obviously took a lot of care and pride in the quality of the work.

John and his colleague did a great job skimcoating old plaster in two rooms of a 1917 house I just bought. I thought the price was fair, slightly lower than another contractor I got a quote from. They showed up for the quote on time and scheduled to do the work within days. They were friendly and had a good attitude too. The plaster came out glass smooth which I was impressed with because the old plaster was pretty uneven in some places especially along crown molding.

Everything went great. I had earlier had a much larger scoped project but had to scale back due to finances. John came by to look at the scaled down project, gave a great price, and was here two days later to do the job. I had done my own board hanging and he dealt with some minor issues there. Plaster looks great and I will definitely use J&M again.

John was very professional, courteous and punctual. I called for a quote and he came the very next day. He gave an estimate and said that we could do this job immediately. He did a fantastic job protecting my floors and furniture from the plaster. He did an excellent job matching the swirl pattern that was previously existing. I would absolutely hire him again for any plastering needs.

absolute marvelous i would say about this contractor John he really was punctual and professional very good natured guy explained every bit of work he is gonna do reswirled everything to its originality and took some extra care to bring the work to near perfection i would recommend JOHN a big time to anyone who has their drywall jobs I would never look for anyone apart from this to get any of my future drywall jobs

John and Paul arrived on time with everything they needed to do the job we agreed on during John's earlier visit and estimate of the work. They were very professional and friendly which resulted in a very comfortable experience. They completed the work in one day as they promised and it met all my expectations.....great new ceiling and clean-up after the work. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to others.

Very punctual and careful; completely covered and carefully removed all items. The entire inside and outside were covered with drop clothes and coverings to protect and minimize the dust and debris. Worked efficiently, no radio, and very cautious of the wall and furniture. Worked great together to complete the job and took the time to help move everything back into place. Made Sure the ceiling would last for the next 100 years. A professional job at a reasonable price. The ceiling looks amazing even before the primer and flat white paint.

He did an absolutely wonderful job. He was quick to respond to our emails and texts. He communicated with us very clearly about the job and what his intentions were. He then took the time to tell us how to prep/paint them and gave us recommendations on what to use. He was very neat and cleaned up everything when he was finished. He was very friendly and professional. He would routinely touch base with us to see if the project was coming along as we expected and if we were happy with his work. He ensured we were completely happy with every aspect of the job prior to his completion. We will be doing the downstairs of this home this summer and will definately use John again.

John was great, he provided an estimate and we set a date to repair the ceiling within 1 week of the estimate. He was on time to begin the work and it was completed in the time frame he provided when the estimate was given. He was very neat and cleaned up when the work was completed. He also repaired plaster that was damaged that we didn't notice but he did. I am very glad that I hired John and would highly recommend him. Thank you for a job well done.

John was great! He was prompt in returning my call and quickly got me an estimate for the work. Within 1 week, he was on-site performing the work. He did a wonderful job repairing the hole in the ceiling. To me this was a difficult was repaired repair since the area needing repair was curved (it was next to the wall) so his plastering had to follow the curve. During his repairs, he found a problem in one of the walls which we didn't anticipate and he immediately notified me of the problem. The problem was structural and although he couldn't do the repairs, without his efforts we wouldn't have known about the problem. He also did a nice job re-doing the water-damaged areas in the narthex. And finally, he cleaned so thoroughly after the job was done that there was no evidence of plaster, plaster dust, paint chips, etc, etc. He left the place spotless. I would DEFINITELY use him again. He was awesome.

John and his associate were great and did excellent work. John was able to come out the day I called him for an estimate to review the damage, and had everything fixed less than 24 hours later. Very knowledgeable, skilled and pleasant to work with. We already have him booked for another job. Definitely recommend!

I was very happy with their work. They came out to give an estimate and we came up with a date to do the work. On that date they showed up on time and did a great job. The floors were covered so there was no mess to clean up afterwards. I will be using them again and do recommend them.
