John and his helper were great! I knew the day was going to go well when John called before his expected start time to let me know, according to his GPS, he was going to be slightly later than expected. He arrived and was personable and very professional. He removed some mold that was on the stud in the ceiling and perfectly installed the new dry wall. Matching a swirled plaster ceiling is an art; John is the artist. He matched it perfectly, asked me to check it out to be sure I was satisfied and told me how to have my painter paint the ceiling to match. His helper was extremely polite, as was John. They cleaned up well, were very careful of my home yet worked quickly and efficiently. I would definitely hire him again and I have already told my neighbors about him!

We initially hired John to fix our ceilings due to water damage. He set everything up to get to work, and then discovered when he was tearing down the old, damaged ceiling that we had mold. So we had to stop the project for mold remediation. He kept in touch with us during that process and was ready to go once the cleanup was done. He arrived when he said he would, and kept us informed throughout the process. The finished work is of very high quality and we are very pleased with it. We would definitely hire him again.

Great job done on cutting out and patching ceiling damage caused by a leaking roof. You cannot tell that the ceiling had any work done to it.. In and Out in one DAY... Any future plastering work I need done, my first and only call will be to J&M.. Job Well Done!!!!

John and his assistant did a great job. They arrived right on time, were friendly and professional, and were exceptionally neat. John kindly gave me advice for two options regarding additional work on my ceiling that I asked about - including a description and estimate of work he could do as well as how to best execute the option that we would do ourselves. Would definitely recommend John, and would rehire him as well.

Very quick and professionally conducted. It is a newly purchased home with no furniture in it so John was able to arrange a half day between his other jobs. The quality is high and the ceiling visually seems to rise two or 3 inches as a function of removing the swirls plaster. Worth it.

John is a very professional contractor from the minute we talked on the phone to set an estimate appointment (which he was early for - which very unusual in the construction business) to discussing the job specs, the pricing, the scheduling and the completion of my job. His work area was impeccable and cleaned up the kitchen and mudroom perfectly. John was polite and patient with my questions and concerns of plastering my 1925 bungalow with uneven walls and ceiling. John did a fabulous job (A+) and I will be using him again on my next remodeling/renovation project.

It never got if the ground obviously job wax was too small. For him offered him three hundred would have taken an hour obviously did not want to drive to East Greenwich. Would not hire a guy who did not kerp his word!

If you want the short answer, the experience was exceptionally great in every sense from the moment I got in touch with John for the first time till the time he finished the job and got his well deserved check. If you want more details, read on... I have a garden level room that I needed to be finished. Out of 20+ plus different places, I was able to have only few people who accepted to even come and look at the room to give an estimate. J&M Plastering was the only, I repeat, THE ONLY company that answers their calls right away, talks to you with high degree of respect, takes the time to explain every question I have, and actually accepts to come and give you an estimate regardless how big or small the job is. When you start doing some research and fetching for estimates, you will quickly realize this takes a lot more than just getting the best quote. Most won't even talk to you if they sense it isn't worth their time. Out of few estimates, J&M's estimate was the best one due to the fact that they honor their word to give you estimate based on the job. Scheduled a day and time that worked for both of us. He is very punctual and does a high quality work with his crew member. The room looks great; way better than I expected actually. He was able to hide all the pipes, cables and other elements that I thought was impossible to hide. FYI, I have taken on the framing job on my own which almost half of the room needed. I am not a carpenter so you can imagine it wasn't exactly a perfect framing job with perfectly aligned framing. It wasn't too bad but it wasn't "perfect" either. John's excellent work hides all the flaws my framing job had. Everything looks flush, leveled, smooth and the general look you would expect from a professional. Not only they worked clean through out the job but they cleaned up after themselves also when the job was done. Simply put, I could not speak more highly of John and J&M Plastering. I would call them again if I needed them for another job. My recommendation is pick who you feel comfortable with but don't do it before you at least talk to John. I had couple of other guys that seriously wanted to take me for a ride. I had an estimate from another person that was twice the amount John gave me and it was a plaster job for only the parts that didn't need framing which was about half of the room. I don't know what that person was thinking but I wasn't about to pay twice the amount for half the room. A good quote is important, of course, but it is just as important to deal with someone who has a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

John provided great advice during quoting and then provided solid professional service above and beyond, asked him back right away for another job.

John was prompt for the consultation and the day of the work to be performed. Did a great job!

The owner came and gave me a fair quote. He brought his sheetrock person in to measure. The sheetrock was hung in two days and the plastering was done in three days. They arrived when they were scheduled. Their greatest asset was the communication before the job began and as it was preformed. I would highly recommend John.

I was really happy with J&M Plastering and would definitely use again. John and I exchanged emails on the date/ time and work to be done. He responded very quickly, which I appreciated. The day of service, he arrived on time and talked me thought the work that he needed to do. His workmanship was great and he cleaned up afterwards. I asked for his opinion on a few other potential projects in the house and he gave me honest input. I would definitely use again!

Great. Patched, plastered, smoothed where a lousy patch job had been attempted. Left no mess behind.

The best part was how quickly they got the job done. The worst part was the mess afterwards. We had a lot of clean up to do. I think when they plaster they should be sanding the walls after the fact and cleaning up their mess.

John was terrific, gave us a very fair bid, arrived on time and did great work in some very tricky out-of-reach areas and the long hallway. He and his partner were very efficient, took only two days, and cleaned up everything at the end of each day. He was generous with his time and information, very easy to talk to, and we will definitely hire him again.

Great experience - it's tough (and rare) to find a person in this industry that is responsive and stays in communication, so this is pretty important to me. I heard from John every week leading up to my project, and every day while it was in progress. Quality of work was also great, and John was very helpful and professional throughout the process; providing tips, helping ensure the framing would provide adequate support for the sheetrock, and going above and beyond to fix a small hang-up with an obstructing electrical box. At the end, he met up with me and made sure I was happy with all the work too (which I was!). Beautiful swirl patterns, by the way. The price was almost exactly in the middle of the other three quotes I received, so it was competitive. My only qualm is that it wasn't made clear that a dumpster would be priced separately, but in the end his group still did a great job cleaning everything up (and the dumpster didn't turn out to be necessary, easy enough to split it between 3-4 trash days). I plan to have the same work done on the 1st floor within the year, and I'll definitely be working with John again.

They did a wonderful job as always. This is the second project that they have done for us. We are planning a third project soon. John and his staff do amazing work from start to finish. Their team is so talented, courteous, and friendly. We were very impressed with their finished work. They work to please their customers in each job they do. They are the hardest workers you will find. They don't like to take any breaks and work through lunch every day. They are such dedicated people. You should definitely hire this team for your plaster and drywall projects. Their finished projects are as perfect as you will find!
