+ -1 moreHelpful - the treatment for the inside bugs would require no people or pets in the house for 4 hours but they suggested tossing the grains in my pantry and using sealed containers which i have done.
Description of Work: They identified the insect in my house and providing information on possible treatments. Also sprayed for ants and put down granular poison in ant hills in yard.

+ -1 morePaul from P&S came out to help with an obvious wasp invasion...but we also discovered yellow jackets and carpenter ants during the house survey. He had several service options to choose from and - without being pushy or salesy - patiently explained them all. And he also went over some very helpful additional steps we could take on our own to help minimize pests. With a new baby at home this season, we went with the complete home protection program because we know, from experience, we'll need to have them come back. We've worked with them in the past and will again in the future. Always professional, always punctual, always thorough.

+ -1 moreThe inspection, information and spraying was very satisfactory and allayed my apprehension regarding carpenter ants. I haven't noticed ants attempting to enter my house since the spraying was done in March, 2012.
Description of Work: The gentleman came to check and spray for carpenter ants. He checked the cellar where there had been a nest of carpenter ants about 10+ years ago. There was no indication of any present problem. He spent about 40 minutes explaining about ants. Spent about 10 minutes spraying the perimeter of the house. and advised me to call back if I noted any ants entering the house. So far, so good. I would definitely use this company again.

This offer was for one floor in the home, but we decided to also have our garage sealed as well.Paul from P & S arrived on time and was very courteous and professional. He went right to work sealing open spaces and baiting the areas in question. Before he left he gave me an information sheet with regard to the bait used. We are very happy with his work and would highly recommend P & S Pest Control to anyone in need of this type of service. The price charged seemed very fair and we would definitely use their services again.
Description of Work: Fist floor of our home and our garage were sealed against entry of rodents and both areas were baited.

+ -1 moreThe first worker from P & S (whose name I can't remember so I'm going to call him Mark) came to our house at the end of March to treat for carpenter ants. He arrived on time, was professionally dressed (P & S Logo on his shirt and on the truck), very knowledgeable and really friendly. Mark explained exactly what he was going to do and took a "less is more" approach to the treatment. Initially he sprayed our foundation and our basement as well as our three season porch (our biggest problem area). Mark explained exactly what chemicals he would be using and also left us the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), so we could read about them if we needed/wanted to. The treatment worked great in our home and we haven't seen an ant since. It didn't take as well in our three season porch, although it cut down on the ant activity greatly. I called P & S to see if they could retreat our three season porch and they were able to send a technician out two days after my call, (I'm sure they could have come even sooner, but I didn't really need them to). The second worker, Paul arrived again on time, was professionally dressed and very knowledgeable and friendly. I sense a theme here and suspect that all the P & S workers are just as great. Paul explained that the ants were probably coming in through a few small holes in our porch walls and that they may even have a nest in the wall, (yuck)! He used a different type of spray (a fine mist) to get into the walls and also treated the foundation again with a stronger chemical than previously used. There was no charge for this return visit and knock on wood, I haven?t seen an alive ant since!

Description of Work: I purchased the P&S Pest Control Spring Carpenter Ant Protection Package offered on Angie's List. I contacted P&S by email on a Thursday and had a same-day response. We scheduled an appointment for the following week in the 12-2 timeslot. The following day I discovered that we had a new generation of carpenter bees settling into the fascia boards along the roofline at one end of our house. I contacted P & S Pest Control to see if there was any chance they could deal with our bees in the same timeslot as the ant protection. They told me there would be not problem doing both and gave me an estimate range which I knew from past experience was competitive. The technician arrived shortly after 12 for the 12-2 timeslot. We took care of the "bee" contract paperwork, and he explained in detail how he would do both treatments. For the ant protection, I was given the option of spraying both inside and outside the house. I asked him to just spray outside as a preventative, since we have had no evidence of ant activity for several years and spray annually. He gave me an information sheet about carpenter ants. For the bees, he explained that he would inject Tempo 1% dust under the fascia board at specific intervals. He told me to watch for bee activity when it warms up again and that it might be a week or more before they are completely gone. He told me I could find details about both the products he was applying online. (the names of the products P & S uses are listed on the work order.) He explained the 6 month warranty. He treated for both, let me know when he was finished, and said to be sure to call if I had any additional questions or concerns.

+ -1 moreWe found them on Angie's List. They charge few hundred dollars for the first visit and thereafter $60 every week. We had contacted another pest control company but they weren't doing a very good job with following up with us so we cancelled them. We were checking around and found that these guys had pretty good reviews. We stayed with them because they seemed pretty reliable in terms of coming by and being communicative with us. They really seem like they are experts in pest control. They are really good at communicating.

+ -1 moreI had a very extensive mice problem. Key word being HAD. P&S came out and placed some bait type boxes in my eaves of my basement. The technician explained everything to me so I would understand exactly how they worked and what was going to happen. He was so kind and understanding of my stress from this problem. He put me at ease! He left and came back every few weeks to check on my bait and problem. I have not had any sightings or droppings of any kind since. I am so happy I am sure I will be calling them this summer, because bees are always a problem. I feel like I can call them anytime and they will know who I am. That makes for a great business.. + -1 moreI had a terrible problem last winter 2010-2011 with mice in my walls & basement, etc.. Once I contacted P&S pest control, Paul came to my home promptly, professionally interviewed me as we walked thorugh my property. As a result of the walk thru, he produced a 2 stage approach to keeping mice out., patiently walking me through my questions and responsively modifying his approach to best suit me. That interaction was GREAT. Once we found an approach that I was comfortable with - Paul came to my home while I was at work to in all potential entry points and set up bait traps. He monitors the traps monthly and give me a report of the condition each month with the bill. I waited until after my peak mouse time (using last year as my gauge) to write this review. I believe our approach is working and I plan to continue working with P&S Pest going forward. I have not had any mice trouble since I engaged P&S Pest but am confident they would be very prompt in any removal activity I could possible need.
Description of Work: Blocked all potential rodent entry points and set up bait traps. Monitors the traps monthly and reports on the condition.

Although I didn't get called back when I called the first time, they were very responsive after I called again, scheduling an appointment for the following week. Paul was punctual, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. I had bought an Angie's List Big Deal for a rodent exclusion package, and it ended up being a fantastic value. He gave me advice for preventing rodents in the future, quickly took care of the problem, and I feel went beyond the call of duty by inspecting the other two units in the house (the Deal was just for one unit). I was very impressed.
Description of Work: We had a triple-decker house inspected for evidence of rodents. Holes in the foundation were sealed and one unit was baited.

They actually had a technician at my house the same day I called, and he arrived at the specified time. He was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. In addition to placing the traps, he took the time to listen to my concerns and then explain what he was doing and why. He walked through the entire property with me, pointing out potential problem areas, and suggesting solutions. They also schedule a follow-up visit to check the traps and ensure everything is working properly. This visit was also timely and the technician (this one was also the owner) again took the time to walk through the property with me, and offer some practical advice on another pest problem I was having. I hope to never need to hire a pest service again, but if I do, P&S Pest will be first on my list.
