Cooper Bros did not present us with as thorough of a proposal as we were looking for and gave us drastically different information than other estimates. They missed their estimate appointment but later stopped by without calling to deliver their proposal.

Fantastic experience. Jim, the salesman, came out and measured and gave me a quote, making suggestions about how to do the job. They came precisely when they said they would come and finished exactly when they said they would finish. The driveway looks terrific and if you spill a cup of water in one corner, it trickles all the way across the driveway to the side, where it's supposed to drain off. Extremely professional job, at a very competitive price.

We dealt solely with Jim Keohane in quoting, negotiating and executing the job. Jim is nice guy, and always available (via cell) for questions. At the initial meeting we told him 1) we were on a very tight budget and 2) that we plan on moving in 5-7 years. So, obviously, we weren't looking for the Cadillac of driveways. However, we also didn't want a simple pave-over that would break down in 3-5 years. So Jim recommended a full tear-out, moderate excavation, 4-5'' gravel and 3'' of asphalt. The cost seemed reasonable, particularly considering that they removed a separate asphalt walkway at no charge. All said and done, the quality of the job is slightly above average. The blacktop they used is a bit granular, and there are some small divots and irregularities in spots. Overall, though, there were no surprises, they arrived on time and worked quickly. For our purposes, we're happy. I would recommend them for jobs like ours, and I'm sure they could handle higher-quality jobs if asked.

No-show. Josh agreed to make a morning visit to the site to quote a job, and to call beforehand. By afternoon when nobody showed up or tried calling, I called them and was told they had gotten started on another job and wouldn't be able to send anybody over that day. They should have told me this as soon as they knew it, rather than after I called.

RETURNED CALLS IMMEDIATELY, ARRIVED FOR ESTIMATE AND WORK ON TIME, GRADED YARD AND FINISHED DRIVEWAY IN ONE DAY.

OVERALL, VERY PLEASED. COOPER BROS WERE THE LOW-BID OUT OF SEVERAL ESTIMATES, BUT I CHOSE THEM AS THEY CAME RECOMMENDED BY A FRIEND. WHILE SCHEDULING THE JOB WAS A CHALLENGE (IN PART DUE TO MY WORK SCHEDULE), AND IT OCCASIONALLY REQUIRED FOLLOW-UP CALLS TO SET APPOINTMENTS, WHEN WE SET THE DATE THEY SHOWED UP EXACTLY ON TIME AND COMPLETED THE WORK PROMPTLY AND PROFESSIONALLY. JOSH, PERSONALLY SUPERVISED THE WORK. HIS HELPERS WERE HARD-WORKING AND CONSIDERATE OF MY NEEDS.
