Up Yer Flue Chimney Sweeps

It was very good, and I was very pleased. He showed up quickly after I called him. He was also professional, thorough, and didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need.

Josh was hired to clean the chimney which he did. We had assumed it was dirty after a winter of fires. He cleaned and inspected and gave us a quote for a chimney cap. He was prompt, very neat and left everything spotless.

I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for $89. Josh quickly contacted me to set up some time for service. Josh arrived a few minutes early and quickly set up. Throughout the process he was very helpful in describing what he was doing and what he found within the chimney that may be cause for concern. He provided some great tips about how I can maximize the use of my fireplace as well. Even though it was not included in what I purchased, Josh also checked out my wood stove flu. I had only used it a few times this past winter and Josh said I could wait until I had a full year of using it before needing it cleaned. I appreciated the honesty and all of the helpful information. I will definitely recommend his services and use him again.

The guy is very good and I would strongly recommend him. He was very knowledgeable and very professional. He paid strong attention to detail.

The service turned out okay. I had always used a different chimney sweep in the past and they were amazing. My main concern with this company is that they just showed up while I was not home. I normally like for the company to explain to me what they did. I called them up to express my concern and they understood where I was coming. Josh was unable to go up on the roof during his first visit because of ice and snow. We made two or three subsequent appointments but the weather was crummy then also. Finally, after many weeks, maybe even months, Josh was finally able to get up on the roof to inspect the flashing around the chimneys. During the entire time, he was responsive, punctual and professional. He was forthcoming with good information and suggestions, and he was a pleasure to work with. I would use his services again.

I had previously used Up Yer Flue to sweep out my chimney. During the sweeping, Josh noticed that there was a gap between the fireplace wall and the flue on the side where the hot water heater vents in to. He explained the problem to me in a very calm fashion without trying to up sell anything, which I appreciated. He was very down to earth about what kind of problem it is and offered to come back another time to take care of it for a good price so I agreed. He showed up right on time, and took all of the same precautions to make sure nothing would get dirty or ruined while he worked. The job itself only took maybe 30 minutes. I really appreciated his accurate time estimates as it allowed me to salvage half of the day to go to work.

We had just bought a house and wanted to use our fireplace during the winter months. All of the other chimney sweeps were booked solid at the time (in November) and we were referred to Up Yer Flue from another chimney sweep. So I gave him a call and spoke to Josh who was very easy going and courteous. He was willing to service our chimney even though we were just outside of his travel radius. We lucky to get a decent appointment of a few weeks out compared to months and months out with other companies. His price was reasonable and in-line with other companies. He showed up right on time and was very professional making sure to cover up the floors and taking all the necessary precautions to keep our living room clean from soot. He is clearly very knowledgeable in his trade as he was explaining to me all about how the fireplace should be maintained and how my particular flue was constructed. He noticed one small problem and explained it me without trying to up sell anything. He finished the job right on time and I was able to pay with my credit card using his phone! I really like it when I see companies leverage new, mobile technologies to make things easier.

Josh was great! He was accommodating when I needed to move up our appointment, arrived exactly when he said he would, was very professional, took photos of our chimney and was just an overall nice guy to deal with. I will definitely be using Up Yer Flue again. We've been through two other chimney sweep companies in the area and they didn't compare.

Our chimney hadn't been cleaned in years so we jumped at the Angie's List deal. UP Yer Flu was extremely professional and also educated us on upgrading to a fireplace insert with no sales pressure what so ever. Thumbs up all around.

It went well. He was extremely prompt, very well mannered, and very clean. He laid out material so dust didn't get in our house, and swept up when he was done. He was a nice honest guy to do business with.

They were awesome and I was very happy with their service. Scheduling went very smoothly. They were very nice guys to work with and they did not over charge us for anything. They cleaned up very well after themselves.

Josh arrived on time. I felt he did a thorough job inspecting and cleaning my fireplace and chimney and left my living room clean as well. He offered advice about fireplace techniques and different products that can be used for heating. Will definately use him again.

We bought a house with two fireplaces and we thought the chimneys needed to be swept so we bought the deal to have them both swept and inspected. Josh showed up on time to the appointment and after taking a look told us that both chimneys looked spotless inside. He performed an inspection of the chimneys from inside the house and also from the roof. One of the chimneys had no chimney cap, so Josh recommended that we install one to keep animals and water/snow from getting inside the chimney. We were able to apply the amount paid for the Angieslist deal toward the installation of the chimney cap. Josh patiently answered all the questions we had about the fireplaces and even walked us through the best way to light a fire in the fireplace (since we've never had a fireplace before) and also went out of his way to measure the humidity levels in the firewood we had on hand and gave us tips for storing the firewood.

It was very good. I actually booked some follow up business with them as well.

Josh was awesome, responded quickly to our request and was a few minutes early to the appointment. Josh gave us a thorough education about our chimney, our options re: converting the fireplace to a stove or gas insert, as well as his suggestions for the most energy saving options to heat our home. Josh explained to us the structure of our fireplace and how it works most effectively. Josh determined that the chimney in our new home was actually clean and not in need of sweeping. When we do need our chimney swept, we will definitely call Josh to do the job!

Josh was prompt, polite, professional and has a good sense of humor. He examined all 3 chimneys carefully and found them to be fine and in no need of services. He answered all my questions and also educated me on the best ways to build a good fire and provide adequate air circulation for a fire. He spent plenty of time and to my surprise it was a free exam! I am very impressed and would recommend Up Yer Flue to anyone in need of a good chimney sweep. My only disappointment was that "sweeps" don't ride bicycles anymore, like in Mary Poppins!

Great! Josh was very professional, thorough, and explained what he was doing and any recommendations he made in a simple but detailed manner. I appreciated how he looked at every aspect of the chimney (two flues, one for the fireplace and one for the oil burner) from the basement all the way up to the roof. He was careful when he was handling items around our fireplace and took great care to keep the soot from spreading while he was working. He laid down drop cloths and cleaned everything up as he went. I felt his inspection was complete and his recommended future work and estimate was honest, reasonable and fair. Josh is clearly very knowledgeable, experienced will all kinds of chimney, flue and heating systems and how they interact. I mistakenly thougth Josh had forgotten our appointment, when I called him he came over right away and apologized repeatedly! Turns out, I didn't confirm the appointment date (although I thought I had, somehow the e-mail I thought I sent ended up in my draft e-mail folder)! Sorry Josh!!! One fellow came out, he was very informative, he did what he had to do, and left. He was prompt, and courteous. The price was fine.

Amazing quality and service. He was so honest with us and we appreciated that he told us our chimney was in good shape and talked about things to look for so you know when to re-sweep it. I will use this company again. I had even called a competitor to get a price comparission and was told "he's the one I call when I'm overbooked," and I thought that was a great reference.
