Up Yer Flue Chimney Sweeps

It was an excellent experience. He looked at two flues and told us only one needed to be cleaned now. He cleaned that one, and we are very happy will the results. We will definitely call him back for our next cleaning.

Josh, the owner, was very professional and personable. Visual inspection with photos was free. Work performed was installation of chimney cap, done in a timely manner and no one even needed to be home for the installation. (We were for the inspection)

When we were emailing about setting the appointment, they informed me it would be about a month out before they could get to me. I needed this done much sooner, so I just requested a refund.

The appointment was easy to schedule through email. Josh was extremely punctual and did a great job while he was here. When he found out I had no experience with building fires/using chimneys he also took the time to educate me on how to build a fire, how to prevent it from smoking, what types of wood to use, how the fire might impact the thermostat and heating in the rest of the house, and various other pieces of information important to know. That was much appreciated. He is clearly knowledgeable and seems to have a passion for his work.

Josh was very pleasant and prompt. You can tell he is very knowledgeable about chimneys and offered lots of advice on keeping the chimney working properly. He laid out a mat that covered the entire floor and there was no need for clean up after he left. I would definitely use his services again. Highly recommend.

The inspection for cleaning indicated the chimney did not need to be cleaned. the estimate for installing a cap was in line with what we expected and Josh applied the Angie's List special deal price as a credit towards the cap installation. Josh recommended we have the chimney repointed before installing the cap and suggested several local masons who do that kind of work.

We just bought the house over the summer and wanted to make sure everything was in good working condition before the winter. We have a large fireplace and a vent chimney for our boiler. He was originally supposed to clean and inspect both but after inspecting (and providing a ton of great advice and knowledge) he recommended to wait and maybe clean them next year because they were in good shape. He gave us advice on getting the most heat out of our fireplace as well by buying a backplate (he wasn't selling anything), and recommended I get one on amazon so I could get the free shipping. He also let me know that some of the fireplace equipment that I inherited with the home purchase were antiques and were worth a good bit of money on ebay if I wanted to sell them. Rarely do you get such honest people and Josh is genuinely a great guy who loves what he does. He is very knowledgeable, I used him last week and have already recommended him twice.

The company was very responsive and understanding. Unfortunately, I needed to work completed sooner that the dates they had available.

He arrived on time, swept the chimney and provided good ideas for how to get the most from our setup. I'd call him again to sweep the chimney.

Josh was excellent to work with. He returned my call quickly and was out within a few days to give an estimate. He was extremely knowledgeable and does all the work himself. He squeezed us into his busy schedule so a cap could be installed as quickly as possible. Josh was always early and called to see if it was okay to come before our scheduled time. I would recommend him to anyone.

Great experience with this company. Contacted me right away to set up a date for the service. Showed up right on time. I have three fireplaces and an inside grill (with its own flue), and they inspected each one, but just cleaned the one flue (as it is the only one we use very much). I've used chimney sweeps in the past that are constantly trying to up-sell you into cleaning all the flues (for increased cost, or course), but not these guys; they were honest and told me that the only one that needed cleaning was the primary one. The service was fast, done very well, with very, very little dust. I highly recommend these guys and I've actually scheduled annual service with them.

Cleaning was great. He cleaned up after himself and explained how I can take care of the chimney. Very helpful and very friendly.

Josh not only fit me into his schedule, but was right on time bright and early. He did a thorough inspection with advice on how to get the most out of my fireplace. He was very informative on ways to improve burning and reducing smoke in the home. He didn't end up doing any chimney sweeping because there wasn't a need yet. He even got on the roof to inspect from above and gave suggestions and an estimate for fixing cracks and increasing the longevity of my chimney.
