He was great. Personal, punctual, returned calls/texts, gave advice, explained how to fix things, and got the jobs that I needed fixed, done.

I was traveling for work and never personally met Luis. I found him on Angie's List and called him immediately because not having a toilet requires some urgency! He happened to be in the area and stopped by within a few hours. I had a trip planned and wasn't able to meet with him in person, but my neighbor gave Luis access to my apartment. He took a look, called me, we talked through the price and schedule. Again, I was on the road, but based on the reviews and Luis's attitude I felt comfortable giving him my credit card info over the phone. Within two days, and some communication over the phone, he installed the toilet of my choice, replaced the flange which was the difficult part, and filled a hole for me. Throughout the process he was great to deal with and super responsiveness. I'd recommend him to anyone, depending on the job.

I cannot recommend Luis highly enough for his professionalism and friendliness. I will definitely use him again and will recommend him to my friends.

He was helpful and did very good work. I would have him back again. He came and hung some things up for me.

It ended up looking nice. Better than we could have done by ourselves. Not perfect, but things rarely are. I had a fair bit of trouble getting in touch with him and following up with him to make an appointment. I think he got overwhelmed with the number of people he got contacting from the deal. He was supposed to come and do it himself, intsead he called fairly last minute asking if he could do it with a helper and each would be paid per hour what he quoted me before. I felt a little awkward about this, but wanted the project done. It took a little longer than half of what he originally quoted and with two people it cost a little more then he quoted me at.

We have used Luis Jara many times for projects both at our old condo and in our new house. In every circumstance, Luis is friendly and professional. Additionally, we have found his work to be high quality and affordable. We highly recommend him and will be hiring him for future projects.

Mr. Jara Did an excellent job replacing a broken hindge and adjusting all of the other hindges for all my kitchen cabinets. I also had him replace a broken hindge on a window and storm door. He was kind enough to pick up the replacement parts he needed from the hardware store as I was not sure what to purchase. He was a,ways courteous, professional and thorough. He takes pride in his work, which comes through in the final product. I appreciated what he did and intend to call him whenever I need work to be done!

Met Luis at the jobsite. He wanted to negotiate a fixed price for what I thought should be hourly work, then he wanted to claim that a 'screw-off' faucet replacement would take 1.5 hours and it would be an additional 3 hours to reinforce two windows. I wasn't thrilled but needed the work done. He would coordinate with my tenants. He exchanged a couple messages with them and then stopped responding. I had to find someone else to do the work. Total waste of time and undermined the credibility of future vendors in the eyes of that tenant group. Wish I'd never met the guy!

We negotiated a deal to fix several items in my house. One was a screen door which he purchased at Home Depot and wasn't constructed correctly and fell apart literally 2 weeks after he constructed it. He was also supposed to help me find the correct bathroom fan to install but never did, and finally he was supposed to buy and install dimmers for the lights in my home. He forgot to bring the dimmer with him and said he would come back some other time to finish the job. I contacted him to see when he could finish the job and he texted me back once that he could come on a certain date to rectify the issues and I told him to come, but he never showed up and I haven't heard from him since then. Not recommended.

He expected me to text him after his vacation to get my work done. Although he offered 2 hours of work in the bid deal, he was clearly looking to make a project longer. He was very confused and was not professional. It was like he was doing you a favor and you had to do the work to schedule him. He never contacted me again and I requested a refund through Angie 's list about 3 weeks ago and I am still waiting for it.

Luis was very pleasant, professional. I called him and he responded within the hour and repaired the pipe and toilet. I would definitely use Luis again. Luis was very quick and repairs took about an hour and it saved gallons of water.

Very well. Delightful to work with. Answered his call or returned voice mail promptly. I recommend him highly.

Communication was very challenging. We thought we had scheduled a date for work to begin but when he came to the house (1 hour late) he indicated that he was visiting to provide an estimate. The information provided in his visit was thorough. We ended up not using his services since his estimate was approximately 3x as much as the carpenter we went with. Since we did not use his services, I cannot comment on the quality of his work.

After some difficulty connecting in the beginning, Luis and I finally did and he showed up the next day to evaluate what I was looking to have done. He gave me a great estimate and felt comfortable with his knowledge and recommendations. I was then pleasantly surprised to see Luis and his crew nice and early the next day ready to work. They were there the entire day and finished everything to my liking. We had a follow up call the next the and he checked in to make sure everything looked good. I really appreciated that. Luis is definitely someone I would recommend and use again. His crew was extremely nice and great workers. I'm glad we finally connected and found him to be very accommodating.

Luis was punctual, and arrived with all the tools/materials necessary to make the repairs to the holes in the wall and install a new handrail for the stairway. He worked quickly and sought out my preferences for hanging the handrail. When he finished this project, he gave me an estimate for painting the hallway and stairs. We were able to schedule that for the next week. Luis arrived for the painting project on time, with his painter, to paint the hallway/stairs. He explained everything to his painter, and left. He checked back with the painter a few times throughout the day to make sure that everything was going well. At the end of the day, Luis came back and thoroughly inspected the job and did some touch-ups. Overall, he was very pleasant to work with and I found his work (and that of his painter) was excellent quality. I plan on having Luis do more work for me in the future.

luis arrived at our agreed upon time.......he was prompt and a very hard worker.......he attended to the task at hand and worked very hard until it was completed........i was very pleased with his service...

Luis did a perfect job on everything. The main reason I hired him was to sand and paint our front wrought iron railings. They were really terrible looking. It was a tough job and Luis knew exactly what to do. They look great now. I was also pleased with how carefully he covered our steps and surrounding surfaces fully with tarps and painter's tape--and no paint went anywhere except on the railings. The other small tasks were done well too. Luis is pleasant, knowledgeable, responsive, and leaves everything completely cleaned up. He does not cut corners. I'm so happy to have found a great handyman!

Luis Jara was professional, punctual and performed quality work. My only negative feedback is that, since I explained that the job involved replacement of sash cords and I gave Mr Jara the color of the window frames, he did not bring sash cords with him to the job. Instead, he took time to go to the nearest hardware store to make the purchase, then billed me for the extra time at his regular rate. I do not object to paying extra if the job actually took more time. In this case, however, I would have expected that the sash cords would have been purchased in advance and I would then reimburse Mr Jara for their cost. Despite this complaint, I would consider using Mr Jara again.

Luis was very professional and efficient. He got a lot of work done in a short period of time. He explained what he was doing and was very pleasant. I have had him at our house twice and plan to use him as our go to handyman in the future.

I called Luis to schedule the appointment and he responded right away. Though he was busy, he was able to find a window in his schedule to come by and help me due to the simple nature of my problem. On the day of the appointment he showed up on time and was done within an hour.

I had a coupon, so it was cheap. Luis called as I had asked, came when expected, looked at the two small jobs, gave an estimate and started work. I gave him some pieces of scrap wood, and he bought some plaster. He had everything else he needed on his truck. A few hours later, everything was cleaned up and finished.

It was fine. The contractor was very responsive and professional. He did a nice job.

Honestly, the best part of Luis is that he returns calls, and does so promptly. I can't stand having to chase service people down who don't respond or don't show up and waste my time. Luis always calls or texts back, he came when he said he would, and even called en route as he was arriving. That in and of itself is so unusual and so valuable. On top of that, he gave me a flat price for the work, and his work is solid -- he clearly wants to do the job right, and he's a nice guy to work with.

Luis installed a much needed bathroom trim on my baseboards in the bathroom after a renovation I had done. Another man sanded and painted as well. They did a great job and finished inone hour !! He also made some good suggestions while here .

Luis was very helpful, punctual and professional. He pointed out some issues with the fan installation--wrong size ceiling cavity--and clearly laid out the options for moving forward. He was on time, friendly and did all work well. He has returned to do other work for me and I plan to use him in the future. It did take while to reach him--I sent him an email, but he did not respond to it; he did respond to the second email five days later, with a request that I call him, an communications at that point went fine using text messages. Email is not the best way to reach him.
