Based on reviews on Angie's List I spoke to Peter on the phone about my needs. I would be buying my first washer and dryer (24+ years at laundromats). Peter asked questions about size and electric/gas, and asked what my price range was and then said he would check his stock. Peter phoned me back with a make and model which i looked up online and we decided on a different dryer because of the limited space. a day or two later he phoned with a solution. He found something in stock that was unusually narrow. I asked for delivery that same weekend. Peter said he would check. His voice conveyed it would be a remote possibility. I sort of pleaded and said pretty please and all that and when he called back it was with a delibery time. They were delivered up three flights of stairs and plugged in/washer hooked up . I had to do a and quot;wackyand quot; homemade job of piping the dryer vent. I spoke to Peter about it and sent a photo. Peter responded with a suggestion of how to do it safely and with more stability to the system. I was quoted a price for the washer and dryer before-hand. I offered my credit card information but Peter said we can and quot;take care of that next week.and quot; Once Peter knew I was satisfied he took my credit card info. By then I had washed and dryed about 20 loads Peter is extremely well informed about the business. Impressive.

I emailed this company to ask about whether they performed cleaning of window air conditioners when I discovered what looked like Black Mold on the one I had in my living room. The owner responded and said they could provide that service for @ $250, but that was probably the cost of replacing the unit. It turns out this is a little place I used to pass regularly when I lived in this area of Roslindale. A hidden gem! it always had appliance boxes on the street outside, I never ventured in before because I didn't need fridges or washers, and didn't think it would also carry something like a window air conditioner. I went the following weekend- which happened to be the tax free weekend- and he was busy with other customers when I arrived, only one other person in the store and they were clearly doing office work. I don't know if they have more staff on weekdays, but I thought they might have had more on a busy weekend such as that. It didn't take long for him to wrap up business with that customer and talk to me. He reviewed my options and even looked at photos of my home on a Blackberry to try and ascertain how big a unit I might need. He recommended a larger one than I had currently, and it was slightly more expensive than I'd get at a Big Box store, but not too much. He helped other customers while I contemplated what to do. The others mentioned that they wanted to buy from a local store and support local business, which was part of why I was there too. Before he came back to me, he was interrupted by an elderly man speaking Greek; he gave the guy directions (in Greek) and helped him on his way. It was really nice to see that he is clearly the and quot;go toand quot; guy to help people in his community. Eventually I chose to buy the recommended product. After checking the computer inventory, he discovered that the recommended one was a brand not in stock, so he offered what he had, which was an equivalent alternative. We tentatively scheduled the delivery for the following Friday; he assured me he would be calling the night before to confirm eta for delivery. On Thursday night I had to call him to be sure I was on the schedule, he said he was working on it as we spoke and would get back to me. An hour or so later, he did. The delivery truck called that they were on their way and I headed to my home from work- but sat for a while waiting for them. They were about 15-20 minutes late. It was a miserable hot day and I live on the second floor, and I really appreciated having them carry this heavy, larger AC in and installing it. They took out the old, moldy one and disposed of it for me. They cleaned up after the installation and made sure it was running before leaving. Nice guys, polite and friendly and efficient. Will definitely consider them for future purchases.

Herbie was my repair person. He arrived at the beginning of the time range I was given the previous day. He was very happy and sang while he worked. He explained what he was doing. I thought he was very thorough and efficient and I was extremely happy with his work. He cleaned up everything after his job was completed. I would definitely use this company again in the future.

They are very fair in their prices.

At 10 a.m. on a Saturday I called Harrison Refrigeration and Appliances to discuss a possible repair of my dryer. I was told that a repairman could be at my home between 2 and 5 p.m. that day. I asked that he/she call me before arriving since my doorbell was broken. At 2:15 p.m. I received a call from the repairman that he was standing on my porch. Fernando confirmed that the belt had broken and replaced it within half an hour. He was efficient and pleasant. I would definitely use Harrison again and have told my neighbors about my experience.People on my block are always looking for good service organizations. Once we find one, we share the information.

Job went very well. Harrison Refrig. was responsive and the work was completed within a few days of my call. They first came out to diagnose the problem and charged for this service. They then called after checking on the part and gave me a total price. Overall the price seemed fair and was less than a new washing machine, so I'm happy about that.

I buy all my appliances from them, including the ones for our apartments, I have been using them for years, and they are exceptionally fine. They have a serviceman who can come right away, it is especially good for tenants, they're good at making appointments, because my apartments are pet friendly, a lot of the tenants have dogs, so, we don't let any service person go in unattended. Whenever a stove or refrigerator breaks down, I call them, they either fix it in a day or 2, or bring a new one. I married into a famly with real estate, I not only married the family, but the businesses they use as well. They're have excellent service, excellent appliances, very good prices, and take away your old appliances. I love the service guy, he's a hoot. They delivered my refrigerator for free, they took away my old one, made it easy for me, and I always speak to the owner. It's a family business, with a personal touch, the people you give the contract to, work for the company. I would not call anyone else. If a tenant's refrigerator goes out, Peter has them one by the next morning.

Technician also cleaned lint out of the dryer and ducts to the exterior vent.

Our refrigerator was making a new sound and was not cooling properly. We called Harrison and they had a repairman at our house (at the pre-arranged time) the following day. The problem was quickly diagnosed to be a failed fan. They ordered a replacement fan. A few days later when the fan arrived, they came out to install the part - problem solved. The part was delayed by a day, but they did call ahead of time to let us know.

They gave me a window of 10a-2p on Saturday, and he was there at 10a. He replaced my dryer heating element super fast and was in and out in about 40 mins. He told me that it would be $150 after the problem was diagnosed and before he started working. That would include the $65 service call fee. He was very professional, and it was a overall very good experience.

Peter provided prompt, friendly, courteous, full-attention and knowledgeable service. He found the exact OTR to fit my personal requirements. Harrison's was my first stop. After visiting 4 other stores, I placed my order with Peter as the result of pricing and good vibe. The delivery and installation experience was outstanding from arrival to final result. The delivery was on-time and I was most impressed by the professionalism and courtesy of the delivery team. It was not an easy installation due to the original customizations made for microwave being replaced. The delivery team's ability to troubleshoot the problem, make the appropriate changes and do the installation in a proper manner has resulted in total customer satisfaction.

We would recommend Harrison to anyone. they are a wonderful company!!!

They were fantastic! Our fridge wasn't working and they were at our home in a major snow storm within a couple hours. Great advice, e.g. do not buy a very expensive fridge with lots of features--buy cheaper for fewer parts to break. They had a fridge delivered the next day (free shipping and free haul-away). Fantastic service and sales.

It was fine. They called back immediately, and had someone here within 90 minutes. He was a nice guy who quickly diagnosed the problem, performed the repair and cleaned up after himself. He was out of the house within 30 minutes.

From service to sales, excellent service and a highly professional staff. Every person I talked to and worked with at Harrison was personable, knowledgeable, and polite.

I called to get the ice maker of a 3 year old refrigerator working again. I thought because the name of the business they did full servcice work. The ice maker was not getting enough water "apparently" . They do not do any plumbing. Not even enough to get the icemaker going. But I still had to pay 65 dollars for the service call and absolutely no work done.

Try getting this level of service at Best Buy or any chain. I needed to replace my wall mount air conditioner, an extremely old model, perhaps the prototype. Peter was very helpful and knowledgeable, both over the phone and in person. He was more informative than the other stores I called. And I immediately felt he knew what he was talking about from the way he qualified the opportunity. He asked what air conditioner I had, and knew exactly what brand and model would replace it and had a unit in stock when I called. And when I came in and was doubtful about it fitting, he spent time reviewing my measurements and how I should be measuring the wall sleeve. He uncrated both an air conditioner and a sleeve so I could see them and we could measure them. And based on his information, I knew the wall sleeve I had was compatible and didn't have to buy a new one. By the time I purchased he was out of stock and had to order one, but it arrived and I had it installed the following weekend. I could not gotten this information with a web retailer. Prices are comparable, delivery and installation were included and the delivery guys were on time and did a good job installing the unit.

They just came out for a service call, because they found the problem and needed to get some prices. They left to price the part and told me that they would call me back. They called about an hour ahead of schedule and asked if he could come out about a half an hour early. I called them on a Monday and they came out on a Friday to look everything over.

Broken belt on older dryer was replaced after giving Peter the make and model of the dryer. Called on Saturday, late after noon and repaired on Monday.The serviceman did an excellent job.

Overall, Harrison was very good. I did not get a call back regarding the deliver the evening I was promised, but did get the call the next day. When I called because they did not leave me a broiler pan, a broiler pan was delivered to my house. They were very pleasant to deal with.

Overall it went well. The guy was a bit short in my questioning his assertions of the issue,and also the fact that I was going to order the part and "install" it myself (it really was the easiest thing to do, no assembly or disassembly required), but he just went with it and I got a call a couple days later that the part was in. Very good experience.

They were very positive, they were very knowledgeable about the product and the price was very reasonable. We have used them before and we have always positive experiences.

Peter is always very fair and provides excellent customer service. We would never think of going to a big box store after finding Harrison's. Their prices are as good or better than the big stores and they offer the best customer service.
