Additionally, they didn't try to sell me additional services and were honest about telling me that the vents needed to be cleaned only once every 6-7 years.

+ -1 moreDuct Man answered my phone message regarding my service needs the same day, and showed up to service the problem the next day; very prompt and excellent communication. Lance and his associate checked the exterior vent (on top of the roof) and it did not appear to be the problem. Since our second story dormer does not have attic access, they began dismantling the bathroom fan/heater housing to attempt to see into the duct. They were able to see the majority of the ductwork, and there appeared to be no problems, so they reassembled the fan and reinstalled it. The fan began pulling air into the bathroom just fine, and it then became apparent that the electrician that had recently worked on the fan had improperly installed the fan. Lance was great about the whole situation, and did not charge me for a full cleaning charge, even though I would have been happy to pay the full charge to have the problem resolved. He was very professional, and I'd definitely bring him back for any ductwork or similar job.
Description of Work: Our bathroom exhaust fan was no longer venting properly, so we asked to have the duct and exterior vent inspected and repaired as necessary.

+ -1 moreThis service provider was a sub contractor of ARS in West Bridgewater. Their fee was bundled in the amount we paid ARS for furnace tune up and hot water tank flush. These guys provided excellent service, were very thorough and explained their procedure in a very detailed way. They even vacumed any left over debris on the floors before they left. They spent almost 3 hours completing the entire job. They do very good work. My wife was very pleased with the outcome.

+ 0 moreThe cleaners were running a little late and notified us promptly, arriving only a few minutes after their expected appointment time. Set up went quickly and the entire cleaning was completed in under two hours for a small 2 bedroom/2 bath condo. The team wasn't chatty, but explained everything they were going to do before they did it. We had accepted their original price quote over the phone, but the owner (one of the team) dropped the quote after the cleaning when he saw how relatively small our place was. We felt very fairly treated by this company, and have recommended them to friends.

+ -1 moreThey were awesome. They broke up three hard-packed clogs of lint in the 20+ feet of 3" dryer duct. Drying times went from three hours for towels to 50 minutes. Regular laundry from 2 hours to 40 minutes. They were punctual, efficient, and completely professional, wearing shoe booties to prevent any mud from coming in.

I was advised that given my usage, I should clean the vent only every two years, rather than yearly as prescribed in the owner's manual.

+ 0 moreEverything went extremely well. They were very professional, showed up on time, and did an excellent job. The owner of the company is the one that did the scheduling and the work. They did it for the price (actually about $5 cheaper) that was quoted and unlike someone that I had previously scheduled with a living social coupon, did not try and upsale me on anything. I would definitely recommend Ductman for anybody looking to get their ducts cleaned.

We have two cats that we did not want let out, and they were very considerate to work with us on moving them to different rooms as they cleaned. They cleaned up thouroughly after the job. + 0 moreLance was great! It was very important to me to have the air ducts in my new house cleaned before I moved in and the time frame between closing and moving in was very small. Luckily, Lance finished a big job earlier than planned and was able to squeeze me in exactly when I wanted. I didn't realize when I made the appointment that because I had two zones of heating I also had two vent systems. While other companies might have had to reschedule because it was essentially two jobs, it wasn't a problem for Lance. He was able to clean both systems during the same appointment. Once Lance saw my dryer vent, he informed me that the wrong material had been used (PVC pipe). He offered to go to Home Depot to get the correct material and install it. That was way above and beyond and very much appreciated! I would highly recommend Duct Man!

+ -1 moreThe work went very well. Both Lance and his employee were professional and thorough. They worked quickly and were as unobtrusive as possible. They explained what they were doing, and handled a difficult situation very well. I will absolutely hire them again in a few years when the duct work needs to be cleaned again. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs their duct work cleaned.
Description of Work: We hired this company to clean our duct work, and to remove a dead mouse thatr another company supposedly found in our duct work. Lance and his employee came to our home, and started cleaning the duct work. After a certain amount of time, they asked me to come down the basement and look into the vacuum that they were using. They had not vacuumed out any mouse, only dust and dirt. I questioned this. They assured me the duct work where the other person had supposedly found a mouse was now cleared out, and scoped a camera to show me. I continued to question them because the other person had shown me something that looked like a mouse. Lance and the other man were very patient with me, and they answered and asked questions to solve this issue. Finally, Lance was able to figure out what had happened. When he scoped the camera again, he found what I saw when the other person had scoped his camera. Then Lance showed me the same picture, but in color. This revealed that there was no mouse, but a rustlike stain that was shaped similiar to the body of a mouse. They finished cleaning out the rest of the duct work.

Lance, the owner, came on time, did the job efficiently, assessed the safety of my dryer, and suggested I replace the outdoor vent cover (which my handyman said had to be done, but he never did it.). His price for cleaning was $125 and he charged $10 for the outside vent cover (which he had in his truck), including the part and labor. I was very pleased to have that extra step completed same day. I asked about aesthetics, since the existing hood was ugly metal but the new one would be white plastic, which seemed it might be an eyesore. Lance was attentive to this detail, installed it well, and it ended up looking nice with my vinyl windows. He recommended cleaning the dryer every two years, which I will do. He was humble, professional, pleasant, and I look forward to using his services again. I recommended him to a friend that week.

+ -1 moreLance and his crew called while they were on their way, a very nice touch. They arrived on time and quickly assessed the work needed. Our upstairs dryer vent had been problematic for a while and they tried to reconnect it with the existing materials but it was obvious that it would not work long term. Lance suggested that we replace it with a metal duct which would be safer and more efficient. The price quoted was very reasonable and fair, and we agreed to go ahead with it. They worked on both units, cleaned up after themselves and suggested that we have them come back once a year to clean out the vents for both fire prevention and efficiency. After they left we noticed a significant improvement in our drying times, and since our dryers are both gas we feel much safer now that the accumulated lint has been removed and the vents are attached properly. Overall we are extremely pleased with the work perfomed and will contact them each year for annual clean outs.

Apart from doing a great job on the actual task, the entire experience of working with Duct Man -- his responsiveness to the original Angie's List inquiry, calling me back when I left messages, and arriving on time to fix the problem, made solving this problem so easy. So if you're putting off getting your dryer vent cleaned, don't! It's dangerous to have a clogged vent, and it's so easy to work with Duct Man. Problem solved.
Description of Work: My dryer vent was a mess. My dryer wasn't working so well because of it and more importantly was a big safety hazard. Duct Man came and cleaned out the vent using special tools and made very quick work of it. No mess left behind.

And we had received a notice from Best Buy, where we purchased the dryer, saying that there was a problem with the vent system for the particular model we purchased. The dryer is in a "laundry closet," which makes working on it particularly harrowing. This company took care of the job, made sure that everything was solid from a safety perspective, and completed the job quickly and efficiently.
