Description of Work: I hired SILMAC to do two jobs - add a bathroom where there wasn't previously a bathroom and remodel the kitchen. They started with the bathroom. My house was built in 1890, so understandably there was some unexpected things once work was started. The workers clearly worked hard to maintain a clean environment, which was very appreciated, putting up plastic barriers, floor covers, etc. The job went along smoothly until the end of the plumbing job, where during the final check of the plumbing it was found that the stack pipe had a leak in it. I think this was the most frustrating part for me, because it took about a week to get an estimate, and the work to fix it took approximately 2 weeks. During this time work was stopped because nothing could happen until this was completed and next inspections occurred. That being said, Joe DaSilva was always highly responsive by phone, text, and email which was very much appreciated. It was reassuring to know at any point what was going on. The work on the bathroom took about 12 weeks, but it turned out absolutely beautifully. The guys built a closet that is perfect with beautiful craftsmanship. The tile work and floor tile looks beautiful. The workers also installed doors, baseboards, replaced heat, lighting. They were also flexible and skilled in installing items that were unusual to create a luxury bathroom - an unusually large tub, bidet toilet seat, etc.The guys also replaced a window with glass block that turned out stunning. The work passed inspection with no issues. I have been using the bathroom now for almost two months and continue to be impressed with it's beauty. The kitchen took about 5 weeks to complete. It involved covering an existing doorway, removing and replacing cabinetry, moving plumbing, installing new water line for refrigerator, moving gas lines, and replacing closets. The guys doing carpentry worked on both jobs and were a pleasure to have in the house, very polite and pleasant. They did a flawless job installing cabinets and creating a closet while no instructions were provided with the cabinets purchased. They were great at asking questions and insuring that everything was done to my specifications. The kitchen is beautiful and I am so thrilled to use it. Finally, the guys did a few small jobs -installing a utility sink in the basement and new lighting in the hall way. All craftsmanship is excellent. Any issues that were found after the fact were addressed quickly and with quality work. I would definitely recommend SILMAC for any work you are looking to get done.

Description of Work: We had water damage in our laundry room. After close inspection it turned out that the water had been coming in through the outer walls, and the whole project was much more extensive than we had initially thought. Apart from anti-mold treatment, painting, and replacing the interior drywall, the outside brick wall of the building had to be repointed and the windows newly caulked. Joe advised and guided us through the while process, including referral of a really good mason and painter. He was very responsive at all times, and tried very hard to work around our schedule. A pleasure to work with!
