J & J Flooring

Overall experience was very positive. I am very happy with the quality of the work. Jay responded promptly to all of my questions (via email). I will hire J & J Flooring again for my next tile project.

The work was great. It went very well and turned out very nice. The price was great. They were good across the board, and I cannot really put together a complaint. I would definitely use them again in the future.

JJ Flooring arrived on time, executed the plan they laid out, were efficient and non-disruptive in the household, remained courteous at all times, removed the old tile without making a huge mess (not easy), were respectful of the wood floors, picked up the tile for us (and offered a discount at the tile store), worked around tricky spots in an old house, properly seamed all the base board (a step sometimes skipped for cement board). We had a misunderstanding about where to end the tile line, but once realized, they immediately fixed it without incident. Great guys and efficient well-run business.

Jay and his employees did a great job. They took pride in their work and it showed. They were on time every day and were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves as they went along. They went the extra mile. When the grout we picked up ourselves was not the right kind, Jay went to get the right kind himself. I wish all our experiences with contractors went as well. Our foyer looks wonderful and we will be enjoying it for years to come.

They did a great job, very easy to work with and reliable. Would use again!

J & J called me right back and gave me a rough estimate over the phone that ended up being very close to they quoted when Jay came and estimated the job in person. They kept me up to date as to when the job would start and once it did, finished it in the time they had promised. They took away the old tile and did an excellent job installing the new. They also recommended we add a niche, which we love. Would definitely use them again.

They did a very good job. They have done a lot of work for me. They gave me a fair price and they went way out of their way. I am very pleased with them. They are very reasonably priced and they are professional. They do a good job and they are prompt. Even when the economy is down they are very busy. We are always getting work done and they did a lot of complete installation like the walls and the floors. I would recommend people to them. I am going to call them again soon as I have a couple of loose tiles to be fixed.

Jay was very prompt to each of his appointments. He gave a very fair estimate, and explained what he recommended is done and why. Every day he worked he cleaned up, and even took the time to completely clean the common area of the building. He also always responded to phone call, gave updates when necessary, and did exactly what he said he would. Overall, he made the whole experience much easier for us. I could tell that he and his fellow employee care a lot about what they do.

Things went well enough.

I called J&J to get an estimate on the project. I was supposed to meet up with them on Thursday after work. They were supposed to call me to set the time. They never called I had to track them down only to find out they weren't coming that day but would meet me after work on Friday. I left work early to ensure that I was home when they arrived however they never showed up. I left message for them and they never returned the call. Their work may be good but their total lack of reliability makes them someone I would NOT recommend.

Excellent job. Worked our job into his schedule so we could get a tenant in on time. Very professional. Handled surprise minor sub-floor repair repairs with no problem. Job was done very quickly. Cleaned up thoroughly after job done. Highly recommend.

J&J Flooring is an excellent company, they are very fair in their pricing and do meticulous work. Nothing but good things to say - the tile work is perfection and did the entire job very quickly....These guys do exactly what they say they will do in the time they estimated. Very trustworthy and I will definitely have them back shortly to tile another bathroom. Jay also recommended to me Shendel Bakal (when I first met with J&J Flooring they could tell I had no idea how i wanted to design the project and was clueless as to how to begin!) - Shendel is a designer and can act as your general contractor...and she is amazing in both roles. Having her work with Jay at J&J made this project a dream and the end result was so much better then I would ever have been able to do on my own....You need to hire both of these folks!!! You will not be sorry.

The service and work could not have been better.

They did very nice quality job with the tiles. They were very easy to work with. They were accommodating and helpful. They were doing the tile work themselves. They didn't basically have workers but they did bring in somebody else to do the plumbing and electricity and they were okay. In fact I wasn't happy with the plumbing but in the end it was achieved by working together. I think they do an excellent job. I had difficulties because I had a death in my family so there were some delays but they were close to me so I interrupted their schedule.

He replaced the floor in the kitchen and family room area with cork flooring. He pulled the carpeting. He put down a kind of subfloor and then made out cork tiles. He was very helpful and very knowledgeable about cork. The work was done very well; a lot of attention to detail. He cut the cork around the corners very nicely and he was very professional.

The job was great. He told told us which materials and how much were needed on the initial visit, which also included a competitive price quote. After we booked the job, he came back a few days later to do the removal and lay new tiles. Returned one more time the next day to do the grout and cleanup. We couldn't be happier with how the tiles turned out, and he was flexible on scheduling the job which was great for our busy schedules. Will call again when we need tiles done again in our home.

They were real courteous. It was very good and they got the job done fast and it was a good job. It was all perfect.

Excellent work. These guys worked hard and were extremely attentive to details. The results were a perfect floor with no high spots. The work made it easy to install new cabinets without having to overly worry about getting things leveled.

Called to see if Jay would come and give us a quote to install wood laminate in our dining room and ceramic tile in the entry hallway. He said he could do the tile but that they don't do wood laminate. It says in the description of their company on this website that they do do laminate.

He came out and measured, said he would level the existing floor and build the new one over it, build a tub sidewall, and replace two tub walls. I would need a plumber to remove sink, toilet, bath fixtures & reinstall. They do not regrout. The threshold will need to transition to a higher height. I never received a quote. I also didn't think it made sense to go over the existing floor without correcting the underlying problem.

Everything went great...prompt, clean, hardworkers..they did a solid job.

I had numerous tiles that were loose in an old bathroom. Jay came by for an estimate and suggested that we replace all the tiles since there were issues with the floor that would likely cause the problem to come back if only the loose tiles were fixed. While it was more expensive to do this, it felt like a reasonable approach (he later confirmed this when the tiles were removed). Jay came on schedule and completed the work per our discussions. As part of the job, he removed and then replaced the toilet. The quality of the work was excellent and Jay did a great job cleaning up. I had a few minor issues. 1. Jay's initial quote was labor only. He assumed I would provide the tile. It was not really clear to me that this was the case until we spoke again about the estimate (I had wondered why he was so much cheaper than the other quote I received). 2. Jay was not willing to provide a written estimate. He would only do estimates via email. 3. When I tried to use an Angie’s list coupon, he told me the job did not qualify (not big enough) since the coupon was only for labor and did not include materials. I did not feel he had fairly indicated this on the coupon. Bottom line: The work was great (most important), but the logistics were only fair.

J&J Flooring responded very quickly to my request to come look at my floors and to give an estimate. They let me know about where I could get the tiles on sale. They were prompt, efficient and hard working. The job was finished sooner than I expected and the flooring looks beautiful. The price was very reasonable. I'm very happy with their work.
