The job went great. It took two guys about three days to complete the list of items and I am very pleased now that the job is complete. They were very clean, timely and professional. Dave also did a great job of working within my schedule which was very tight because I had two other contractors completeing work in the same area. I will definitely hire Dave again to help me out with any other projects that I have around the house in which I need an electrician.

Excellent. Prompt . Everything done right the first time

Dave Hanley was immediately responsive to my telephone call, and throughout the process of determining what I needed done and scheduling the work, he communicated clearly by email and phone. He arrived when he said he would and did an excellent job. I was impressed not only by Dave Hanley's expertise but also by his integrity.

Dave Hanley is a true professional. He was very concerned with making sure everything was done well and to my satisfaction. Installing the one light required him to climb into a cramped loft in the garage, and he just said it is part of the job. Dave Hanley is a nice guy you can trust, I will definitely use him again.

Very good experience. Dave is much more organized and detail-oriented than most of the people who I have hired to work on my house. He explained things clearly to me, showed up when scheduled, performed the work on time and on budget, and was generally a pleasure to work with. I will definitely hire him again should I need any other electrical work.

Dave returned my call immediately and showed up promptly to check the problem.He scheduled a time to repair the circuit and fixed the issue.I will definitley use him again in the future.

This electrician is a gem. He is knowledgeable, professional, and effective. He obviously likes his work. He checked the electrical panel which would keep tripping after a few minutes. All of the outlets he tested worked fine, so he determined the problem was probably the circuit breaker itself. He replaced it with one he had with him and now all is well! I selected him because (according to the Angie's List information) he lives about a third of a mile away and has excellent ratings.

David was professional and accommodating to our needs. He gave an estimate of time and cost at the beginning, and the work was completed within the estimate. The work took seven working days and he worked between 8:30 and 4:30PM. He made us aware of the possible risk of running into difficult situations with the wiring since the house is more than 100 years old. But, fortunately, no such situation arose. There were a couple of areas where the old wiring was not replaced as it would have required major fishing through the walls and breaking the wall paper. We mutually agreed to leave that area untouched. He had an assistant throughout the work.

Very good price for the job. The house is occupied by my daughter and family and so I wanted to have he wiring done in this old house for an extra sense of safety. Dave is a great guy and does a really professional job. You do not have o worry about anything with this guy in your house. I'm late posting this review because I was off of Angies for a bit but the job was so good that I felt compelled to post this once I got back on.

Dave did what he said he would do and a little more when he said that it would be done

I have used him a lot. He is reliable and good. He is reasonably priced. He is the best without question, he has just been really good. When you give him a problem, he thinks it through and comes up with a better solution than you thought possible.

We had a great experience with Dave. Our house is not that old (1948), but it has some quirks that made the work challenging. We wanted six recessed lights installed, along with switches and a dimmer. Dave gave us a thorough and understandable estimate. the plaster is a concrete base that is extremely difficult to cut, and the work took much longer than anticipated. Dave gave us extra time and did a great job of patching the holes in the plaster - he even patched some old holes! Additionally, the lights we originally planned for didn't fit in our ceiling, but this was handled quickly and professionally. He also went through numerous outlets and switches and made sure that there were no safety issues with old wiring that was no longer in use. The attention to detail was great, and we were informed of the progress every step of the way. Our new lights look great, and we feel much better knowing that the wiring in the room has been inspected and repaired where necessary. Overall, Dave was a pleasure to work with. He took great care of our house, was extremely generous with his time when the project was more complicated than expected, and the work is impeccable. We would not hesitate to use him again in the future.

Mr. David Hanley was the owner. The work that was done was good. I thought that it was well done and there were no issues with the actual installation itself. However, I would not recommend them to anybody just for the simple fact that the electrician that I was working with was very unresponsive. He took a long time. He was actually supposed to install another $800 worth of work but it came out after he had already given me the estimate that he could not do it. It went back and forth. It was very difficult working with him. The work that was done was good but I would not recommend them.

Exceptional work. Very friendly and courteous. Showed up as scheduled, even managed to get to the work earlier than planned. This is the person you want to keep on your list for all your needs.

Dave Hanley has been an excellent electrician; we only wish we'd found him sooner! Dave was professional, courteous, and highly skilled throughout our work with him. He maintained regular email contact to schedule appointments at our home, showed up on time, and worked efficiently. He explained what he would be doing for each project and solicited our input to ensure that his work met our needs and desires. After he finished, he showed us what he had done and explained any operating instructions, etc. Dave was by far the cleanest contractor we've had in our house! After every project, he made sure to clean up everything and left it just the way it was when he arrived. This left us able to just enjoy his handiwork and our new fixtures. He clearly operates with customer service as his top focus. We will definitely continue to use Dave's services; he has been one of the best contractors we have ever worked with.

Dave was very responsive from the first note I sent and extremely nice during the entire process. He also gave me a terrific first time rate to do it. I will definitely use him again.

Dave did a great job. He was flexible with our schedule and needs (and the needs of our old, temperamental house) and once again performed great work for us. He even came by on a Saturday before leaving for vacation to finish up a couple of loose ends so we could get our lives back in order (stove and refrigerator back in position, etc.).

Overall we found Dave to be clear, reasonable, on-time, responsive, and adept at his work. It was refreshing to work with someone like him. Also we felt his charges were reasonable.

Dave has helped us out several times as we continue to modernize the lighting in our very old house. In this case we needed a new chandelier installed in the front hall and directional lighting (can lights) put into a plaster and lath ceiling to highlight paintings on a wall. As always, we were very pleased with the work. Dave does a great job at a fair price. He comes when he says he will and follows through as promised. In a house like ours there are always complications, but it never seems to bug Dave. Basically he's a skilled electrician and a really great guy. I always think, too bad Dave has to work on these lights--otherwise we col walk down to the Brendan Behan and get a pint. We can't recommend Dave highly enough.

I contacted DPH electrical via a search on Angie's List for electricians. Dave came out to look at the work I wanted done. He gave a fair and fixed estimate of the work to be done within a day or two. Another company only gave a phone estimate which might have been more or less than the actually amount, so I went with DPH. We were able to agree upon a day to do the work. Dave was willing to be as flexible as possible to work me into his schedule. Dave was punctual in arriving, worked methodically and I was very happy with the work he did. He only made small holes for the the wiring which he himself covered with spackling. He was very respectful of my property and made minimal mess. He was very professional start to finish. I will definitely hire him again.

Dave was great to work with. I first called him on what I'd completely forgotten was a holiday, but he answered the call anyway and spent about 20 minutes talking with me on the phone about the problem we were having. It took a little while to find a time that worked for us both for him to come out and assess the problem, but when he made it out, he spent a lot of time with me answering questions and giving me some background about what was likely happening with our problem outlet. As a relatively new homeowner, it's very valuable to me to learn about how these various systems in our home work, what causes problems, why things are done certain ways (i.e. regulatory guidelines, etc). That Dave was not only willing to provide me with these details, but also solicitous of my questions and concerns, was a big part of our overall happiness with his work. Dave explained in advance that his billing process would include 2 hours of labor, and suggested that if we had anything else we wanted him to look at or repair while he was at our place, we should tell him. We in fact had one other little job that I'd tried to do myself a couple of years ago without success, which he took care of in a jiffy. He was very friendly to both me and my wife while he was here and took pains to make sure we were happy with his work, that we understood exactly what he'd done and why, and that we knew we could get in touch if we had any further issues or other projects. We were quite happy working with him and now can use our air conditioner with confidence that we won't end up with water all over the floor as a result! In the past we've had some trouble getting people out to work on the little things around our house we can't do ourselves, so we really appreciated Dave's willingness to address what was (for him, at least) not a big project. We felt that the service he gave us was the same as he would have given a client with a much larger and more expensive job. We would definitely call him again for any projects, large or small.

The wiring for my condo and the upstairs condo all comes into the house via the basement. The original developer did a terrible job with the wiring; a tangled web of wires and cables some of which were for my unit, some for the second-floor unit. I had asked another electrician for a quote but when he saw the tangled mess, told me that he did not want the job. Dave Hanley took the took the time to run down each wire and cable to determine the ones that fed each room of my condo. Then labeled them all. He explained what needed to be done and how he was going to do it. Dave is skilled, patient, pleasant, punctual and was a pleasure to work with. I trust him to work in my house while I am not at home. His prices are very fair. He stands by his work. Customer for life!

Dave Hanley responded promptly from quotation to job completion. Personable, easy to work with and uses email and phone to communicate. This was a job theat entailed several modifications from the original plan and estimate. Dave handled these with ease and competence. He is a careful and very conscientious professional and is now our condo's electrical guy. I can recommend him highly with no reservations.

I initially called DPH to install recessed lighting for an extensive kitchen renovation.This involved removing the existing lights from the ceiling, demo the wiring, provide the wiring for all the new plugs, switches for the new appliances and lighting.. He has installed all(7) recessed lights and their switches plus undercounter lighting. He also removed all the old plugs through the entire house and replaced with new grounded receptacles and in addition provided a new and badly needed plu/wiring for the living room. Because of problems with the delivery of the new cabinets, this project dragged on and on, over several months and Dave was very considerate and made sure that I had the electricity to run the appliances that I needed. I am having Dave return to do some smaller projects and will not hesitate to call him in the future.
