+ -1 moreWhen the TruGreen representative applied ther fertilizer, he missed large sections of my lawn. He only filled the spreader once, and having done the lawn myself, I know that you need to fill the spreader at least twice, depending on the application rate. For the price I paid, I would expect them to be more professional and actually apply what I paid for. I'm going back to doing it myself.
Description of Work: I contracted TruGreen to apply Organic fertilizer. I purchased the full summer program.

+ -1 moreI stopped the service because I was dissatisfied. When I hire someone to take care of my lawn I expect them to issues and not just keep it to themselves. I lost a lot of grass that didn't need to go. I don't think they come out enough. I think the pricing is competitive.

+ -1 moreTheir consistency stands out. I am pleased with the fellow that comes out. They do a good job. Their price is high. They charge $62 for a treatment and $90 for a grub treatment. They are too punctual. I will continue to use them.

+ -1 moreThe result of the products themselves appears to be good. The service requires a fair amount of staying on top of them. If you stay on top of them, the result is good. If you don't want to worry about it, I would say they're not good. There has been very little consistency in who comes out on a year-to-year basis. They wanted to put seed down in the third of August. They said that the weather has been pretty lousy. I asked the guy if he was going to guarantee me that it was going to be cool and shady for the next two months. Of course he didn't, so I had him come back in September.
Description of Work: They typically do a full summer-long treatment program including fertilization, shrub treatment, aeration, and all of the treatments that don't include the weekly mowing.

+ -1 moreI believe they do their job well and we are satisfied with their work. Depending on what work you are needing, it can range between $60-$80. I personally think it can be costly, but we are receiving good results from their service. We will continue to use them in the future.

He gave me his cell phone number so that if I needed to reach someone in the future, I would have the ability to contact him. Thank you, Angie's List Complaint Resolution Department!
Description of Work: I had been a customer of Scotts Lawn Service for several years and had been satisfied with the appearance of my lawn. This year the lawn had been riddled with ruts and grassless holes. I had complained to Scotts several times, and had canceled their service early in the season. They, however, continued servicing my lawn and a technician asked that I reconsider continuing their service, assuring me that I would be satisfied with the treatments to correct my unattractive lawn. I had a number of visits made to my home with the same conclusion...a new disease had developed. I was billed for all but one of the corrections. It seemed that after years of satisfactory results, it was time for a change. When I got a collection letter and was unable to speak to someone in management, I decided that I would consult Angie's List for assistance.

+ -1 moreThis year I called to complain (April) that some areas did not fill in. I got no answer and send them an E mail. I received an answer that some one would come to inspect the area. On May 3rd I wrote another E mail and got no answer. I have not heard from them.

+ -1 moreAt the beginning of the season, things went well. As we started hitting the summer, they did not show up during the time frame their own product recommended. I emailed them when it looked like they weren't going to make it by the dates they needed to be here. Received generic "we'll be there next week." Never showed. 3 weeks later, after the recommended date they wanted to apply the fertilizer. Told them not to bother. Completely useless service if they cannot apply product in the correct seasons.
Description of Work: Scotts LawnService spread fertilizer on my lawn, over seeded and aerated.

+ -1 moreThey have a few knowledgeable people at their main office to answer questions, however their field people are almost all very inexperienced. With our fertilization and seeding, they missed part of our lawn several times, but were good about coming back and re-doing it. We changed to Seascape this spring and have been much happier. We had a problem when we cancelled in the spring and they came out and applied a treatment on top of one just applied by our new company, despite our written cancellation. Then they have been billing us for it for the last 6 months despite speaking with managers. Of note, they are also on the list of the worst chemical poluters among fertilization companies.
