This company was very professional and efficient. They did an excellent job on the install and we're very helpful with the product selections and rebate paperwork!

The response to my request and questions were all through Angie's list web-site. The responses were quick and all questions answered thorough. As told, the call from the plumber was at the time It was scheduled for. The plumbers arrived soon after. Polite and introduced themselves. The replacement was fast and clean. Great job.

The technician that they sent was prompt and did a really professional job, he took his shoes off every time he came in the house and everything was perfect. The only thing I thought was a little too much was the price a little bit high, but everything else I didn't find any fault with anything in the work they did.

I contacted this company for a oil to gas conversion for my home. After speaking with 2 people at the office, I was told to expect a phone call their plumber on Monday to set up a time to see the house and develop an estimate. After a few days of not hearing from the plumber, I called back, left messages with their answering service, again asking for the plumber to call. To this point, its been over a week with no response from anyone. If you cant be bothered to get back to potential customers within a week and a half, even with a reminder, I dont want to be dependent on your plumber's services.

We had one of our flex lines under our sink break late one night. The valve was no good so so I had to shut the water off to the whole house. I called R.P. McLaughlin Co the next morning and was told the on call plumber would call me back shortly. Justin called back in half an hour and said he could be at my house in 10 minutes. He showed up right on schedule and quickly got to work. He recommended that we replace both hot and cold water valves and lines. I agreed and he completed the work in just over an hour. He tested everything and made sure everything was all set throughout the entire house before leaving. He even took the time to look at some other plumbing concerns I had with the house and we will not hesitate to have them come back for some more projects.

I have not had to hire a plumber in many years now, so not sure if the price was high, low or just right. But it seems about right considering what I have heard from others. Cleaned up well after work was finished.

They knew my building and had done work on it before, which was convenient. However, they were a bit pricey.

We had prior experience with RP McLaughlin in our previous home for replacement of the conventional water heater and other miscellaneous work so we were very comfortable in choosing to work with them again. It was also nice to work with a reputable company close to home for future service. Installation was performed over two days and everything went according to schedule. Several months into a cold winter and so far, so good. Everyone who has seen the installation has commented on how well the work appears to have been done. As mentioned, we have worked with RP McLaughlin in the past and will continue to work with them in the future.

we had a pipe in the basement that would occasionally leak. we had one plumber come out and he couldn't find anything wrong. called McLaughlin's (after reviewing various plumbers on angie's list) in November. bob called back right away and had me doing different things; eg; flushing the toilet, turning on the shower, running the sink . . . anything to see if we could get the pipe to leak again. it didn't. bob was very patient with me on the phone and told me it didn't sound like an emergency but to keep an eye on the situation. one month later, the pipe leaked again. since bob took the time to talk to me before, we decided to set up a service call for him to come look at it. one of bob's plumbers came out and immediately found the problem (unlike the plumber who came out in October). the problem was a hairline crack that ran lengthwise on top of the pipe. we set up an appointment in January for the pipe to be replaced. bob and tom showed up at the scheduled time and performed the required service. Bob also took the time to show me other pipes in the basement that could cause problems down the road. Bob and Tom were very neat and professional. as for the estimate that we were originally given, bob was at the low end of the estimate. we would NOT hesitate to use this company again. thanks also to Sabrina for her assistance!

They cleaned up after the work was done (it actually was cleaner than before they did the work!). I would use them again in a heart beat and highly recommend them!!!!!

Their work is good work, they are pretty responsive.

R.R. McLaughlin installed a high efficiency propane fired forced hot water boiler and reserve water tank. The evaluation by Bob Mclaughlin was honest, clear and thorough. He was the only contractor who listened to our concerns and then quoted to address those concerns. He was awarded the job and his company did a fabulous job at a price that was considerably lower with superior products.

It went excellent. If we had questions we got calls right back. I have referred him out to others as well. Very customer service oriented.

The plumber installed a lav sink pop up. While working on the repair the sink developed a crack. The sink may have had a defect in it but irregardless the company replaced replaced the sink free of charge! This is a wonderful company -the only plumbing I will be calling with future work!

I tried to get about 6 quotes for this job, only 4 responded and came to the house and one did not turn in a quote. This company was the middle of the three quotes I received. It was within a couple hundred $$ of the lowest and significantly lower than the highest. I chose this company because it measured the radiators to determine the new boiler size whereas the company with the lowest quote did not do that. I found dealing with Sabrina at the office to be easy. She was very responsive.

I had emailed the company the evening of Monday 10/21 and received a return call back promptly the next day by the receptionist Sabrina (?) I believe was her name. She was very courteous and asked what work I was looking to have done. I had included pictures of my combo boiler with my initial message which Sabrina said she would show to her to the plumbers however couldn't get back to me till Thursday as Wednesday was her day off (again she was extremely courteous). I had received a voicemail towards the end of Thursday to be informed that the plumbers had looked at the pictures however weren't able to get me estimate just yet. Sabrina couldn't tell me when this could be available. I had called Sabrina back and left a voicemail stating I had decided to go with another plumber (who has very good ratings from Angie's List and will be coming Tuesday and responded promptly to my inquiries) . *****And just to note: Upon writing this review I noticed I actually live next door to this plumbing company and am fairly sure they had installed my combo boiler prior to me purchasing my renovated condo. I am in the process of purchasing a replacement remote as one was never provided to me that is included with this boiler.

Not only checked in basement and area on floor above, but took time to check outdoors around foundation with hose, and suggest options for repair, since plumbing wasn't involved - at NO CHARGE. After my last plumbing experience (>$300 to flip a reset a switch I wasn't aware of ) I almost kissed his feet.

Professional, polite, neat, efficient, informative

I moved into my 1880s-era house in Salem, MA in 2009. Not sure how old the gas boiler is, but it's pretty old. Last winter I noticed that when I turned on the thermostat for the downstairs zone, the heat was also coming out in the upstairs zone even though the upstairs thermostat was turned off. I called R.P. McLaughlin Co. based on their positive reviews on Angie's List. Barry, the plumber, arrived at 8am on the dot and was very professional and clear. He explained everything that was wrong very thoroughly and gave me a written quote with a variety of options as far as what I could do to repair the heating system. All work was finished the same day. I'm very happy with the experience and would call McLaughlin again should the need arise.

My upstairs hot water heater started leaking on Friday night, so I had to shut it off. I called them Saturday morning, and the person who answered the call said someone would contact me soon. Sure enough, Barry called me back within the hour, and told me what it would cost in advance, and that he could be there within another hour or so. The price ($1145) seemed a bit high to me, as it included an additional $150 fee for emergency weekend service. He asked me if I'd prefer to wait until Tuesday (since Monday was a holiday), but I said no, I wanted to get it done today. However, I did not get any other competing estimates (since the other two providers I called didn't get back to me until after Barry completed the job), so it is possible that their price is the going rate (or maybe less for all I know). I did get $100 off with my Angie's coupon for first time customers, bringing the total to $1045. Anyway, Barry showed up on time, and got right to work. He did an excellent job leaving no mess, and was very polite and professional. He explained a number of things to me about electric hot water heaters. I highly recommend Barry, and would use this company again in the future.

I explained the problem and sent him information regarding the thermostat I had just purchased. He said I should call my electrician since the issure involved the transformer for the thermostat and the wiring. He explained that he was fairly certain that the Thermostat I had probably would not work with the model boiler I had from him, and he was right. The electrian confirmed that information. Great advice from Bob, and best of all, it was free! Ulimately, I returned the Thermostat for a refund since there was no way to get it to work.

They were very good, I was very happy with them. I got a top of the line heating, water cooling, computerized system. They were professional, timely and they called back all the time.

Tyler came and even though the problem had to do with the old irrigation lining, he still bypassed the line and put the faucet on so it would not leaked. I was not charged. I am very happy with the service I have received . Will recommend them to others.
