Overall, the service was excellent. The response to my initial call was prompt; two workers arrived promptly as scheduled. One swept and cleaned and inspected the fireplace chimney and cleaned the base of the second chimney; he was efficient and completely cleaned areas of any sign of his work. The second worker was a mason who inspected the chimneys addressing certain concerns about the condition of brickwork in the cellar. He said they were no structural problems and nothing that required work by American Chimney. He offered several suggestions about maintenance work I could do myself to improve appearance and reduce dust - including specific products and sources that could be used. I was pleased with the work and with what I felt were experienced, professional staff. There was no charge for the mason's appraisal. Without having investigated other services beforehand for comparison, the charges for work on the two chimneys seemed high - but I was more than pleased with the results.

American Chimney Sweeps came highly reccomended by a co-worker who has been using them for years. For starters, it is important to state the the employees at American Chimney Sweeps are certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America. There are many frauds out there who may know a thing or two about chimenys, but this company does not mess around. They are up to date and qualified in their work. The chimney sweep came first thing in the morning and did a thorough job cleaning the chimney. He looked at our chimney brick and told us that it would need to be repaired in the future, but that it was not critical at the moment. My husband and I were impressed that they did not try and "nickel and dime" us. The chimney sweep gave us some great advice and was on his way! He was very friendly and personable. Also, they have our name in their system so that they will remind us when we need another cleaning. What a terrific job they did!

The entire service was excellent. From the estimate to the installation, everyone did a great job. They showed up on time, and completed the work as estimated. Unfortunately, the new boiler system was a little close to the area in which they had to work, but they managed to get the work done despite the close circumstances.

We have used American Chimney for our regular chimney maintenance and installation of chimney caps in a prev house. This was similar: estimate was made, appointments were kept punctually, work was done on time, on budget. They cleaned up all debris and the chimneys work great!

The people that came out seemed professional and the inspection of the chimney seemed thorough and well explained. They were very responsive and they gave me straight answers when I asked questions. I plan on using them for this job.

They did the job in one day and were on time. They booked some extra time in case the job took longer than expected but they didn't need to use it. They were clean and neat and did a very good job. The price included the two permits that were needed. I was very satisfied with them. They suggested that I pull the permit myself to save money, which I really appreciated. They were very honest about the price.
