Eric even cleaned out my gutters when I had my flashing fixed without a complaint ... just did it for me and it was a God-send ... honestly, they saved me. Went very well. The guys that came were very nice, carried the heavy stove into the house for me. Did everything as proposed.

Sean was great. He started with the chimney for an old wood-burning cookstove that we don't use that often. We bought the house fairly recently and did not know where the clean out door was for that chimney. Sean was very patient and thorough in checking out the crawlspace beneath the house (no clean out door there!) and kept looking until he found it in a cut out in the wall in a room behind the kitchen and did the cleaning. He then inspected the main chimney for the oil furnace and said that it did not need cleaning at this time. He was on time, knowledgeable, informative, and cleaned up thoroughly.

Bob was terrific! He was prompt about coming to do the chimney inspection and cleaning. He inspected and vacuumed 10 gallons of soot & debris! He suggested a stainless steel liner because my house is close to 100 years old. I had had two other chimney people here in the past and they would not do the cleaning, so I was thrilled that Bob at American Chimney completed the inspection and cleaning so thoroughly. He was very personable and gave me a fair price and excellent service. I would call them again in a moment!

We were very happy with their chimney service and will pay that little bit extra next time and use them first and not have problems by using the 'deal' provider that detached the parts of the pellet stove motor.

We had a Morso wood stove insert installed into our fire place. The company guys were very friendly and attentive to our wishes and concerns. As in any retrofitting project, there were some surprises and issues, causing delays, and some customizing was needed to overcome these challenges. However, these issues were dealt with very well and in we are very happy with the result. The wood stove looks and works great, we've been using it almost every day since the installation. We warmly recommend this company.

Jeremy came in on time and he performed a chimney inspection as well as he cleaned one of our fireplaces. He took the time to listen to all of our questions and concerns and he provided us with answers to all our questions. We are very happy with the quality of their service and we will be definitely using their services in the future.

Terrible. I have a wood-burning stove, which I mentioned when I called, and the person they sent had no idea how to clean it. Just stared at it for a few hours. Then swept the inside - I could have done that - and that was it. He never disconnected it from the pipe that feeds out of the chimney, which when I had it cleaned by a company after them, I was told was necessary. It took the person so long to NOT clean the stove, that they never cleaned the oil burner flue in the basement. A week later they sent someone else out who was down the basement for no more than 2-3 minutes and said I was all set. Never once did someone go on my roof. I complained to the main office and was told no one needed to go on the roof. I expressed my concern that neither flue was cleaned properly, since the stove wasn't disconnected and the oil burner took mere seconds to complete. I was told it was by the person on the phone, and I needed to pay. Obviously I refused, and wanted it done properly. After a few traded voicemails, I got a letter that they filed a complaint to my credit report. My score was 780 at the time. So thanks. And then when I had a different company come out to inspect, he said the oil burner flue was terrible (this was less than a month later) and it took him almost 30 minutes to clean it, including going up on the roof with a brush. The stove he completely disconnected and cleaned, which he said was necessary and there was no proper way to clean the stove flue without disconnecting it from the vent pipe. Terrible overall experience. Truly awful.

American Chimney Sweeps cleaned our chimney three years ago and said since we didn't use the fireplace frequently, it would be about 3 years. It was exactly three years - almost to the day - that we had a chimney fire, not realizing the three years had passed. They came the day after we called. Did an assessment, performed the cleaning. There was no mess. Chimney sweep was friendly. Price is fair. It's a dirty job and so we'll pay to make sure the chimney is clean and safe. Although the provider came later than scheduled, we were home and so it wasn't a problem for us this time and it did not affect his service.

We have been really happy with him. The price for the service for sweeping the fireplace and flu was $224 and we had a cap installed and that was $410. He was very professional, very friendly and clean and on time. I am not sure if we used him before or not. It was a very pleasant experience. I didn't do a lot of price comparison. I think some people might think it was pricey but I think it was comparable to a lot of places.

American Chimney Sweeps were recommended to us by our oil company (Mountainview Fuel). We had an issue with our furnace and the exhaust was coming back into the house. Since we were unable to run the furnace to avoid fumes (we had to turn it off) we were without heat and hot water until American Chimney Sweeps could come out. I called on Tuesday and left a message with the answering service. I found it odd that they were closed on a Tuesday. But they called me back the next business morning (Wednesday) and came over at 11:30 am. They removed a bad blockage in the vent. They thankfully fixed the problem without issue. They were prompt, professional and friendly. I had to pay $250 instead of $199 because it was an emergency situation and they had to fit me in. Overall, I would recommend them.

My experience went well. The staff was professional and friendly while visiting. The pricing was reasonable and I was pleased with the service. I would recommend this company to others.

They were on time, professional, and we thought, honest. They did not try to sell us on anything, but gave us some information to think about. We will call them again next year to inspect/clean.

After I got sent an intake form the appointment was scheduled for 2 1/2 weeks out. Understandable, it was getting chilly. The folks who came did a nice job checking things out. Checked the inside and outside. Got on the roof and looked around. They said that they didnt see anything major but because the chimney is painted there may be some issue. Suggested a cover and rebuilding of top couple layers. Said the main office would email me a quote. When they were finished he handed me a bill for $100.00.. I was surprised as no one else charges for estimates. I told him I was unaware of the charge for estimates and would take it up with the home office. They never sent me the quote. Will never call them again

Fine. Jeremy was very friendly, professional, prompt. He provided good information. In the end we went with another vendor who would manage the whole installation process including the plumbing and electric work. American just does the fireplace part of the work.

I had a great experience with this company. I scheduled this company because the previous owners of the house used them in the past so I called them. I also got 1 other estimate over the phone for a chimney sweep and these guys were $50 cheaper. I first called to schedule a chimney sweep as it had been over 2 years since the previous owners did one. I had one technician come out and inspect my chimney. After looking at it, he recommended that I burn a Creosite removal product first before having it swept as there was too much and quot;glazeand quot; on the inside of the chimney. He said that if he swept it that day, he would need to come back and do it again. So it saved me $199. No charge for the first visit. I did what he said and burnt a couple of creosite logs to prep for the sweep. I rescheduled them a few weeks later and another technician came out to do the sweeping this time where I was now ready for one. He was on time, curteous and did not make a mess of my family room. He cleaned and inspected my chimney and gave me a recommendation of when to have it done next. I definitely will be using this company again.

Work was done quickly and professionally. Estimated cost was higher than I was willing to pay at the time do the other financial considerations. Gentleman by the name of Tony Told me that I could write a check and future date check to the next to the following month. I gave him the future dated check and he promised it would not be cashed until the date on the check. two days later the check was cashed leaving me in a financial bind. I would not do business again with American chimney sweeps. Tony did not keep his word and I would not trust him in the future

Arrived on time, clean and neat, knowledgeable and showed me in detail how to run and maintain.

Jeremy came to my house on 10/17/2011 to inspect the chimney. The price he quoted ($1900 - $2100) was to pull the old liner and replace it with a new one. It also included removal and replacement of the cap and removal of all debris. I accepted his estimate on 10/20, set up an appointment and sent a deposit for 1/3 of the estimated price. On 11/11, as arranged, he came to do the work. With a couple of hours of work, he was able to get the existing pipe back in place (it had not been properly fastened at the top) and installed a new top plate and a new and quot;Tand quot; to the furnace. I received a refund of the balance of my deposit ($450) on 11/18. The whole process was straightforward and the reduced cost a pleasant surprise.

I was long overdue to clean my chimney flues and my woodstove. I got a few estimates but just felt that some companies were trying to sell me a bill of goods as well a being over priced compared to their competitors. I have used this company before and trust them. The office staff were helpful and worked with me to schedule the cleaning and repair around my work schedule and weather. They scheduled a time for the estimate and later after deciding to use them a work date. Sean came in around 8:30 AM with his associate and they were all done by 12:30 PM when I came home for lunch. They were polite,competent and thorough. Definitely would use them again.
