Description of Work: This was a Big Deal for "An electrical service call and one hour of electrical troubleshooting". My issue was that most of my electrical outlets in a newly refinished basement area had stopped working. I thought it might have had something to do with a new dehumidifier I'd been using, but no breakers had tripped. I'd had my brother, a "jack-of-all-trades" kind of guy, check it out and he couldn't find the problem. Seemed like it was something in the wiring behind the walls. So I asked Sousa to troubleshoot it. They checked it out, came up with a couple of theories, then discovered that a GFCI outlet in the unfinished part of the basement had tripped. So they fixed the problem in maybe 15 minutes. They did some tidying up of loose wiring the last electrician had left kind of a mess, and were on their way. Although they were here for less than a 1/2 hour, it was worth it for me to have the problem sorted out and the cause explained. It was a two-man crew that included owner Tom Sousa. They were helpful, professional, and courteous.

Description of Work: Tom came out to do the estimate the same week as requested. Was on time and he was willing to come out on the weekend. But never heard from him after the estimate. We asked him to send us a formal estimate and wanted to get started right away. No emails, no phone calls. Left him messages, no response. Hope he's healthy and well and just not want to bother with a small job I suppose....

 + 0 moreTom responded to my phone calls right away. Showed up when he said he was showing up. Completed the work appropriately, left the areas he worked on clean. Work was neat and precise. Even made sure I received the Angie's list coupon. We have moved out of the house he made repairs on however I would not hesitate to use his service again if he decided to accept as we moved 40 miles away.
Description of Work: Removed "exposed" wire outside front of house. Extended wiring and installed piping for post light. Replaced 5 smoke detectors with combination smoke/Co2 detectors with voice warning. Returned to check lights, replaced bulb and remade connections at post light.

 + -1 moreDuring the recent blizzard, we lost power for 3+ days, so without heat, I decided that it would be time to get a generator so that this didn't happen again. I called Tom, he came right out the next day for the quote. He also explained exactly what he was going to do, and helped us determine the correct generator size for what we wanted to do. During the initial visit we also went through the circuits that we wanted to have powered by the generator and where we wanted the outdoor plug. We had 8 people in front of us for this service, so we were told it would be about 3-4 weeks out - which was enough time to research and purchase the appropriate generator and cables. When we had the generator, Tom scheduled the work, and was here at the scheduled time, and finished in less time than expected. After testing the system and showing me how to use it, he was on his way. He was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and fair. I will use Tom for my future electrical needs. A+
Description of Work: Tom installed a house transfer switch for my electrical panel so that I could use my generator to power certain electronic devices in my house. Tom also installed an outlet on the outside of the house so that I could just plug the generator into the house.
