They were professional and on time. They did a fantastic job. I was able to call Washington anytime I had a question. They use Benjamin Moore paint which is awesome. They also held off one day so I could confirm the color I wanted. They wanted to make sure I was happy with the color and I am!!!

Aurora Painting offers good value for the price paid. They did a good job with some minor carpentry (replaced rotting wood). Then scraped, spot primed, and painted entire house. They were very efficient and fast. Initially the paint job on my deck did not meet expectations but they came back the next business day and made it right.

He is an excellent production manager, job site supervisor, and customer liason. I would recommend Aurora without hesitation and would use them for future projects.

The paint job went well and they fixed the trim where it was rotting. I only had one issue where while power washing they broke the glass on my outside light and one of my exterior lights as well as my radon system went kaput because water went inside the socket (that was covered) and short circuited the system resulting in me having to call an electrician to fix the issue. I only realized this after they were gone else I would have asked them about it. I am dinging them one point for this.

They did a great job and were very easy to deal with.

UPDATE: I live in a different state than the rental property where the painting was done. I was at the rental property last week and discovered that Aurora had not used the paint I specified in the estimate (and was promised). Instead of the Benjamin Moore color I wanted, they went to Sherwin-Williams and tried unsuccessfully to match it. As a result, the house was painted in a color that bears no resemblance to what I paid for. The paint has already peeled on the deck and I am having to pay someone else to sand and repaint. At this point, I can't change to the correct color without repainting the entire house. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

The painting and carpentry were first rate. Mark, the owner, was very responsive and the crew was prompt, courteous, professional, and diligent. We would hire them again. The crew showed up early each morning, started and finished the project on time, and handled all added work we threw at them. Due to the age of our house (22 yrs) we had quite a bit of "discovery". The original painting and minor repair project doubled in price with discovery. We never felt pressured into adding the discovery items; we willingly added them on and now have a fabulous "like new" home.

They did not respond to my email about a potential job

They did a very good job and gave us a great price. The only complaint would be that the foreman left for a couple of hours, and the workers made a few mistakes while he was gone. I would recommend making sure that the foreman stays on the job.

...I held off writing a review to see how the paint job would hold up a year later. The painters were punctual and powered through the job quickly. But that, in my opinion, was what brought them down from a higher rating. I must say, overall, the body of the main job was done well, ie; the walls of the house and some minor repairs of rotted wood. There was one area of significant rot around a window that I was not informed about. When I found it myself and asked about it, I was told it was beyond the scope of the kind of work they perform. I would have liked for the painters to bring it to my attention, even if it was something they would not be able to fix themselves. The trim seemed hastily painted. I felt as though they were in a rush to get off the next job and weren't really paying attention to the details of the current work in progress. I asked the painters to hold off on painting the trim at the window opening for that particular day, since I would be away. I found the next day that the windows were all painted shut anyway. That left a ridge of paint on the sill and the window flashing as it dried. The ridge of paint was cut with a blade to reopen the windows. I was told it is a fairly common practice. To this day, the windows still stick and have to be pushed open. The ridge of paint, although sanded down, is still visible. One window sill was sanded down to the wood, and repainted...without primer. I should have spoken up at the time, but it didn't occur to me, as I wanted the job over with. Now a year later, a portion of that paint has peeled off exposing a small area of bare wood. Although small, I feel it shouldn't be there at all. The office response was always prompt and polite. No complaints about the workers manners, but I wonder if the trim problem was related to a language barrier vs their haste to complete the job. The price was better than their competitors at that time; it included an Angie's list discount. The detail work (trim) was not as good as I would have liked.

I was so impressed with the crew . The started at 8am sharp and work until 730 each night. The prep was work was off the charts and there was no stray paint on other areas. The whole job took 5 days. Couldn't have been happier.

AURORA started the job 1 week earlier than projected and completed the job in one week. The replacement of clapboards and edge trim was well done and the finished painting looks great. The repair of the pealing paint on window frames was well done. We worked with the painters to open all the windows and doors after paint was applied, to ensure they would not be painted shut and hard to open. The job of color matching house and trim and deck stain was based on a trip to Home Depot to purchase color samples.

Job went very well from start to finish. I had made several calls to other contractors and thought that Marc's price was the most competitive - it may not have been the cheapest but was fair - and itemized well. Communication with him and the foreman was prompt throughout so that we always knew what to expect. During the course of prep, a lot of insect damage and rot was discovered which increased the amount of repairs to be done but they didn't look for work that didn't need to be done. About half of the cost was for repair work. At the end of the job we were informed that a few items were repaired that weren't included in the bill. The foreman and crew work really hard and out in long days, working on Saturdays as well. They are excellent painters as well as skilled carpenters.The site was cleaned up well every evening and when the job was completed one wouldn't even know that they were here. Marc and his crew from Aurora are very professional; our house looks great and we are extremely happy with the job. This was one of the most stress free projects we have done. . We would use them again and recommend them without reservation.

I did a LOT of shopping around, and was so happy with the service and quality of the work. The bid process was perfect. Marc itemized out the jobs, so we could decide what we wanted and what we didn't. For example, the house vs the shed or both. I asked to have the font stoop powerwashed as well. The carpentry work was estimated, but there was more once the crew could get up to the first story, so they itemized that out so we could agree to move forward. The crew was there working hard early and late. They were also there on Saturdays. Marc did ask of what we wanted for weekends...we wanted the job done as quickly as possible so didn't care how much they were there. They could care every day to clean up, and not impact the surrounding of the house for all the work. I was impressed at the quality of the work, the trim work was so well done in addition to the body of the house. I was super happy with having 1 contractor deal with both the prep, paint, and carpentry work in 1 stop shop. The BEST thing about this experience was the communication. Marc and I emailed about every detail, he stopped by when needed. He was super responsive and kept me in the loop on everything going on. I had such a hard time with painters not getting back to me after taking the time to come out and do an estimate. THIS was the most frustrating process UNTIL I found Aurora. Super happy with the process and how they kept it simple for us. We didn't have to do anything...other than land on paint color! HIGHLY recommend Aurora and I will be using them for any projects in the future.

I first contacted Aurora in the Fall of 2013 to book a job in May, 2014. Marc showed up when he said he would and assessed the condition of my house as best he could from the ground. The quote was not the cheapest I received, but I chose Aurora based on customer reviews and my poor experience with a previous paitning contractor. Marc contacted me just as he said he would in early May to schedule the job. The foreman and the rest of the crew were professional, pleasant, efficient. Communication between all of the parties was good, especially as they found more siding and trim that needed replacement as they prepped the house. Cleanup was good. There are a couple of spots that could have used some more sanding during the prep, but overall it was a very good experience.

Had multiple repairs that needed to be done prior to the staining/painting of the house Marc Ferlo was accommodating and very patient as choosing a new house color is a daunting task. The carpentry crew worked along side the painting crew - one group on one side of the house and the other on the other side of the house. The work was done to my satisfaction however some areas of the house that were sanded stand out - for the simple fact cedar shingles have a flat appearance vs. rough. Overall guys did a nice job despite cool temps - there was some construction materials left in the yard - just took one call and they were cleaned up - and paint touch ups after the fact - but it was all taken care of. I will say it's important to let the crew know where they can store materials as well as cleaning brushes/rollers - there was a language barrier with the crew - glad to have had one go to guy for any questions/communication. The job took a little over a week because of the weather. This having been my first experience with an exterior painting contractor it was a good one and I'd use Aurora again.

Simply stated, it was an extremely pleasant and positive experience from initial contact through project completion. Aurora Exterior Painting arrived punctually every day. The crew was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The crew worked diligently and efficiently each day. At the end of each work day, the crew leader, John, spoke with us about the details of the work completed and what to expect on the following days of the project. The job was completed within the projected timeline. Aurora Exterior Painting transformed the appearance of our home. We continue to receive compliments from the neighbors along our street as well as by others passing by our home. We are very pleased with the outcome of our exterior house painting project. The exterior of our large house was painted. The job included some light carpentry - some rotting exterior window sills and corner trim were replaced. The owner Mark Ferlo and crew chief Thiago were professional and a delight to work with. The job took about 5 days, which was the amount of time estimated. About a month after they finished, I realized that my back door was unable to be opened as it had been painted shut. They quickly came over to unstick the door.

Marc came out to to the house and gave us a detailed estimate of all the repair work and painting that needed to be done. He took his time going over the house, walking around and inspecting everything. Marc pointed out areas that we had not even seen. We had gotten two other estimates but I went with Aurora. I can not express in words how happy we are with the exterior of our home. It looks like we knocked it down and built a new one. Marc said we would be happy with the results and he was right. Tiago was the Forman on the job. He and the crew were always happy and professional. They had to do a lot of carpentry work around our windows to repair rotting boards. The work was very well done. The paint job is perfection. The crew was very detailed, going over the house more than a few times to make sure that they had not missed anything. They even painted our light posts and mailbox post on their last day here. We have been stopped by many of our neighbors who just love the work that was done.
