All the work was done well and we were very pleased with the results. We were always asked for our input, to ensure we were satisfied and to determine if anything else/different was needed. They even helped get us a heavily discounted price on the purchase of the doors; way below what we originally expected to pay. We plan to use MR again for any renovation work we may need!

We interviewed 03 top rated contractors from Massachusetts and when chosen Marcello's from the first meeting because he was the one with the most positive attitude and he possesses the ability of doable way for averything on our construction process from the beginning to finish. They were difficult to schedule with despite me giving a number of options. We then agreed to schedule later in summer 2016 when it was a bit less busy, but I reached out twice and was not contacted. I find this unprofessional and disappointing. We went with another company to do the work

Marcello's team did an excellent job on this complicated remodel of an existing tiled custom master bathroom shower. The quality of the workmanship was exemplary, and his team was polite and professional throughout the whole process. Out of the 3 contractors that I had bid the job, Marcello was able to work within my budget parameters and give me a fair price.

We couldn't be more please with the work that Marcello and his crew performed for us throughout the entire two projects. It was clear that there was a high standard set with respect to how work is done each day - from the small things like clean workspaces at the end of the day, minimal disruption to the rest of the living space as much as possible and ensuring safety is maintained for our family during the construction process, to the big project decisions and attention to detail. We are extremely satisfied with the work performed. With respect to the work itself - we were very impressed with not only the quality of the work but the advice and guidance that the crew came to us when facing issues. For example - while we wanted to take out a larger portion of the wall, there was ductwork found that needed to be addressed. either re-route it or adjust our design to accommodate a more open concept on the other side. We ended up moving our design around and ended up with what we think is a much better solution and better flow between the rooms based on Marcello's framing lead's suggestion. Another example of the team's great attention to detail was with our deck project. we were initially looking to replace the boards and railing but was suggested that they include some lattice work at the base to hide the section below. not just screwing a piece of lattice to the bottom as I probably would have done but they had the framing done and finish trim that really made for a professional looking end result that we couldn't be more pleased with. Other things like making sure there were no blemishes in the wood flooring or having the right size of flooring staggered throughout the 950 sq ft of space what was done - things you would tend to expect but not always thought about when working with other contractors. Marcello's crew certainly paid attention to all of the right details in my opinion. It was clearly evident that the crews (framing, finish carpentry, electrical, drywall) cared to ensure that they had a high quality of work and that it was done right the first time (and for the last time). The effort put forth by his team was more than noteworthy. for example, the deck project was one not exactly expected but we took it on with the hope that it would be able to be completed by a certain time. The crew definitely came through even working a few long hour days to make sure they were again, doing things carefully and most importantly the right way the first time, but also meeting and exceeding our expected schedule. On a personal note, being a tinkerer myself, I am always interested in learning how other people do things (probably the right way compared to what I might do) so I was usually hanging around. never did the crew make me feel like I was hovering or trying to inspect their work as they were going but rather were open to offering why certain things were done. To conclude, I would have no hesitation recommending Marcello's Renovations for work and would look to use them again for another project, big or small.

Slow. Sloppy. Unconcerned with safety both of their own workers and others. My aged father suffered serious injuries because they left stairs in an unsafe condition. They did some concrete sanding that left much of my house a dusty mess and they did it without the workers wearing breathing protection! Much of the work they did was of so-so quality. Things that should be straight are sometimes not quite straight, damage to siding was not repaired, some junk was left behind, etc, etc, etc. The work took WEEKS longer than they estimated, mostly because they worked very slowly - when they showed up at all. All in all VERY VERY unprofessional.

Marcello is the utmost professional.? The men that he sent to remodel my bathroom were fantastic.? They were always on time,? cleaned up after each day and took pride in their work.? Marcello visited the site often to make sure everything was going according to plan.? If there was a question Marcello showed up to make sure everything was correct.? When I had to install a stair chair and realized that the doorway was not wide enough, I called Marcello to ask how quickly he could do the work.? He saw the urgency of the situation and came over the next day.? He figured out what needed to be done did the work within the time frame we had. I would highly recommend Marcello Renovations.? He is a wonderful person who not only takes pride in his work but also cares about his clients.

An Exacting Carpenter for Exacting Clients In an industry that can seem pretty seedy, Marcello restored my faith in general contractors. After being burned by several builders, we decided to play GC ourselves. I called Marcello for an estimate: rough carpentry in the gutted four-season room of our 19th-century home. Within 24 hours, Marcello and his man Jared came out to hear our vision for the space. They listened and offered sound advice, and they refrained from pressuring us to go whole hog. (They split the estimate into rough work and the whole room.) Marcello was flexible and agreed to work within our budget to earn our business. Then he set about earning every future house project we do. Here's the breakdown... Materials & Scope Marcello replaced our floor with top-of-the-line lumber (ProWood), poured three concrete footers, furred the walls and furred and strapped the ceilings, removed a 13-foot load bearing wall, and installed a custom-made LVL and steel and concrete lally columns. He then replaced rotted sill plates and hauled off extra junk I had in my yard , items not in the original contract. The workspace was sealed off and red rosin paper was placed on the floors. Cleanup was immaculate. Marcello's Men Tulio and Tiago are consummate craftsmen, and they've been Marcello's right-hand men for years. When they encountered a serious snag - a roofline that dipped below the new LVL header - they convened with Marcello and came up with a labor-intensive solution that few woodworkers could pull off. They furred the LVL (easy) and then ripped 2x4s to build out the rafters from 0 at the eaves to 10 inches at the peak, leveling them every inch of the way up. The detail cost them an extra day of work. It cost me nothing. Oh, and don't mind the singing and laughing in Portuguese. These guys love their job. Marcello's Responsiveness Call with a question, leave a message, get a text 10 minutes later saying, "I'll be there in 10 minutes." This was not a major project for Marcello, who builds 10-story buildings, but you wouldn't know that by his attentiveness. A Contractor for Life If you haven't figured already, I am the most exacting (read: anal retentive) customer in Massachusetts. I ask too many questions, check in with my contractors way too often, and demand perfection from the first nail to the last brushstroke. Marcello is my GC doppelganger. You won't find a more perfectionistic, patient, and flexible contractor. I only hesitate to sing his praises because he might become too busy to work for me, but I somehow doubt that.

Marcello and his crew were a delight to wok with from start to finish. Answered my initial call within 24 hours, and promptly came over and provided me with a detailed explanation of all options, gave me a very reasonable quote, and upon acceptance, started job within a week. All work crews and subcontractors, were competent, friendly, and courteous, and arrived on time whenever they were scheduled. No delays or excuses...ever. Marcello personally supervised every detail of the work and made sure I was 100% satisfied with everything. Best contractor I have ever dealt with in the 14 years I have been living in my house.

Marcello and his crew did a great job with our extensive project. As problems arose (as they do in renovations especially in old homes) Marcello did everything in his power to address and fix the problems. He even took over the work of a different contractor that was fired, and righted all of the issues that other contractor left for us. The finished product looks great, and Marcello remains in contact to make sure of our satisfaction.

It went very well. Marcello is intent on delighting his customers. We requested bids of 6 and selected Marcello. He was and remains personally committed to the project and our lead interface. It has been a bigger renovation job and his team has been responsive to every request along the way. Where we had any concerns he addressed them. Marcello knows the permitting processes and historic constraints well enough to advise on renovation proceedings. The carpentry and structural work was what I call a "work of art"; a team of three carpenters painstakingly re-created our 125 year old 100 ft front deck, including spindles and railings, and it looks perfect. I called three of Marcello's references before the job and all, like me now, are emphatic they would not work with anyone else.

I've completed several renovations with very competent contractors and I have been happy with the level of work. ?However, Marcello Renovations raises the bar. ?They exceeded every expectation. ?I asked for the project to be completed in 5 weeks; by the time my oldest son returned from college (this is now his room) and they finished early. They have the expertise to design solutions to work through the most difficult construction problems. ?They do so with an eye to service not found in the construction industry. ?They were fast, cost effective, and provided craftsmanship. ?I will always now only hire Marcello for any construction project small or large.

We were very pleased with the work done by Marcello's Renovations, as well as with the way it was done. The results are fantastic and were aided by the quality of workmanship and suggestions offered by the team. In particular, we were amazed with the responsiveness of the project manager. Jared was fully engaged and was very easy to reach with questions and for coordination. Jared also provided many suggestions, with photo samples to consider, which ultimately led to a much better outcome than if he simply followed our initial request. The team that did the work was always very careful to conduct their activities in a manner which limited the disruption of the construction on our living space and stayed within the strict rules imposed by our condo association regarding work hours, insurance, etc. The 'end of engagement' comprehensive cleaning they provided left our apartment cleaner than when they started! We definitely know who to call for future renovation projects, and will be quite comfortable recommending Marcello's Renovations to our friends.

We were very happy with Marcellos Renovations. I would recommend him for any construction needs in your home. Including, bathroom remodeling, Kitchen remodeling, Roofing, Tile, Painting, plastering. All the work was done in a very professional manner. When his crew left for the day you would never know they were even there. There is no job too big or too small for Marcellos Renovations. They promptly returned any call I made to them. The quality of the materials they used were very highend.

We were extremely pleased with Marcello and his team. The process of deciding to move forward on this project and selecting a contractor was not an easy task. After meeting with Marcello several times, we knew that he was the right fit for our project. He was always on time if not early for our appointments. A challenge we faced while selecting a contractor was finding one that would actually show up to appointments! We knew from our meetings that he was knowledgeable and had the proper teams in place to handle this project. As noted above in services provided, this was a pretty comprehensive project. Marcello promptly provided us with a quote and was patient in working with us to agree on the scope of the work such that the project would fit within our budget. After signing our contract, Marcello's team wasted no time and our project was quickly underway. In fact, it was so quick that we had to hold up the process because we were so indecisive on picking and choosing our finishes. His team was flexible and did not rush us at all. It was helpful that Marcello had a project manager (Jared) to assist us through out the process and to answer our day to day questions. It is expected that a project this size has hiccups and we were fortunate that they were minimal and were timely addressed. Marcello prides himself on the quality of work his team provides and this is evident in the final product. We've received a ton of compliments on how beautiful our new space looks. There are a few more projects we have in mind for our house and without a doubt we will look to Marcello for assistance again!

This was my first renovation experience and based on horror stories from friends and relatives over the years, I was not looking forward to it. I decided to find someone on Angie's list to try and get someone trustworthy and high quality and avoid problems. Boy, did I make the right decision. Marcello responded to my inquiry the very next day and came out to walk the job himself. Although he has multiple crews on many jobs, he always does the job walks and estimates himself to be sure it done correctly and consistently and so that he can personally make his clients feel good about their project. This really makes all the difference on the project. He was always available to us throughout the project via text message, telephone or email and made MANY trips to the house to check on progress, answer questions and work through issues. I wouldn't call us high maintenance but we had high expectations and he met them. Although, Marcello may cost more than other companies, he never changed the price on us; he stuck by his estimate no matter what popped up unexpectedly, which is a testament to his ability to "see" a job and his integrity. I made a few changes to the scope and he accommodated them easily and happily. This guy is the nicest person you'll ever work with, guaranteed! Next I want to talk about the crew that actually did the work. Dave, Rogerio and Roberto practically lived at our house for a couple of months and were the epitome of what you want from your workers: professional, courteous, quiet and hardworking. They always went above and beyond what they were asked to do and were happy to do it. But in the end, what really matters is the quality of the work. We were and continue to be blown away by the caliber of workmanship these guys bring to the job. We absolutely could not have anything better. they did everything the right (and best) way, never cut corners and if we weren't completely satisfied, they would work on it until we were. I cannot express enough how good these guys are at what they do. You will certainly get what you pay for (and more) if you go with Marcello and his guys. Don't waste your time calling anyone else!

Another very positive experience with Marcello and his team. Came in for an estimate on remodeling a previously unfinished/half-finished basement. Marcello's team did a great job of refacing our cabinets and adding a backsplash the previous year, so we knew the service would be good. The estimate was high, but Marcello was negotiable and we came to an agreement on a fair price. The remodel included total demolition of the previous space, building a bathroom, plumbing, electrical, framing, flooring, doors and windows, tiling, painting, finish carpentry and installing appliances. Workers were all punctual, friendly and accommodating. As the project was underway, we asked Marcello about the additional job of cleaning/scraping the living room and dining room ceilings and fixing a hole caused from a leaking pipe. Marcello went a step further and totally redid the ceilings and fixed the pipe and hole for no additional cost. Project managers were easy to talk to and the job was done in a timely manner. We will definitely use Marcello and his team again for other projects and have recommended them to anyone in our area looking for a contractor.

What can you say. It's like going through the entire experience without any worries at all. I've reviewed many reviews in CL and decided to go with him on. I was right and made the right choice!. He came through on many occasions and was able to finish the project on budget and almost on time (due to unexpected nature). I would definitely recommend Marcello to my friends as I've received so many compliments on how nice the finished basement looks. Also, they provided few other small projects here and there without additional costs as those are hard to come by these days. I would say, if you need your basement done the right way on the first time, call Marcello and he will do the job the right way. You will be impressed with the workmanship and will definitely receive many compliments down the road.

Marcello and his crew were extremely professional. Every bit of our input was respected and integrated into their effort. We always felt like we could ask questions about the process at any time and receive prompt feedback and answers. Of course such a project took a bit longer than anticipated, but most critically, Marcello's crew maintained their level of effort throughout the process. We never felt uneasy about when the project was going to be completed, which was nice since we were living alongside this major re-haul of so many rooms. All the workers were very pleasant and easy to get along with and we were impressed with the final job. When we had problems with some things, long after the job was done (e.g. our rough kids pulling at bathroom hardware), Marcello came the very next day and fixed everything gratis. We are very grateful and recommend him highly!

Every time we work with Marcello and his team, the work is simply stunning. Their attention to detail and on-the-spot problem solving have made them my go to partner for all projects. As the project progress, we learned a lot about the house as we did demolition-- as with all projects. The team came up with some really great variations to the design to incorporate all of the good and bad discoveries about the house. For example, the center chimney stack was going to be a dead space where we would have simply put shelves. They suggested we make is a centerpiece and painstakingly applied field stone onto it and made is a key focal point of the design. Marcello is also focused on using less waste in the process of construction which is very important to me. His team utilized reclaimed lumber to build the bathroom vanity and frame all of the bathroom doors and windows. Again, absolutely beautiful. I can't recommend Marcello and his team enough!

Marcello's Renovations once again gets our highest recommendation. We have written numerous previous reviews of their excellent work on Angie's List. We had extensive ice dam damage during last winter. Marcello worked with us to restore our home to its previous already renovated state. Marcello and his crew worked well and quickly to get the work done and the result has been their usual excellent quality. We give them our highest recommendation.

Marcello and his team did an excellent job. Marcello was very responsive and easy to work with. Jared oversaw the work at our place and was highly responsive and professional as well. Great attention to detail, efficient work, and the team cleaned up every single day after working. They were pleasant, courteous, and highly skilled. Of particular note, they did an excellent job with color matching when we needed to do so. When working indoors painting, which would normally leave anyone's house most disheveled, they actually left the areas they were working on cleaner than before they started their work for that day. I would gladly work with Marcello and his team again and highly recommend your talking with him for your own project.
