Bill 's crew painted 2 rooms, ceilings and several hallways and entry ways. It was a big job as the walls are textured and needed repairs in spots. Everything about the Larking Painting Company experience was exceptional. It started with the quote process with Bill. He was prompt, reviewed the scope of the work and the possible challenges. The quote was delivered promptly and was clearly typed and complete.The communication with Bill and the crew was always prompt, professional and informative. The crew worked in our home for over a week. They arrived on time each day, were focused and did an excellent job on all counts. They cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. It was a pleasure to have them in the house.Any questions were reviewed with us - they did not make assumptions when there was more than one possible approach. At the beginning of each day, the crew chief reviewed the goals for the day. The next day's goals were clearly stated. They did an exceptional job on ALL aspects of the job: - communication - technical skills - clean-upThere is nothing they could have done to make us more satisfied with the experience.

(1) They picked up the phone when I called. No machine.(2) The two people I spoke with were warm, courteous, and spoke perfect english. Very easy to understand.(3) Bill called me back personally to let me know that he couldn't help me even though he had no stake in the game since he knew we couldn't work together. Amazing etiquette. Even though we didn't work together I am compelled to write in to record this wonderful experience. I wish I had more time so that we could have worked together.

The job went great from start to finish. Mr. Larkin was prompt, helpful in choosing colors, courteous and friendly. They did the work while we were away. We came back to a beautiful paint job and everything neat and clean.. Mr. Larkin called us to make sure we were satisfied, particularly about the bannister, which turned out to have some unexpected problems, like a hole filled in by putty. He also sent flowers, a nice gesture.

For us this felt like a big job, but Bill and his crew had everything well choreographed and organized, and I suspect that we did not make it easy on them. We had to make several change orders, had two paint matching challenges and had them working around a variety of other crews (electician, carpenter). They were well prepared and throughout the job focused on quality and even worked extra to get everything completed for our timeframe. Bill was easy to communicate with and very patient, knowledgable and understanding. His crew was always on time and very neat and orderly. They package and labeled everything when they were complete. The end product was amazing, better than I could have imagined....my dream home! We will be calling Bill whenever we are in need of a painting job. And his pricing was very competitive!

The quality of work was outstanding and consistant. It was clear to me from my original discussion with Bill that he understood painting and potential issues that may occur. He was able to address all of my concerns upfront. His crew was easy to work with and kept their promises in terms of scheduling. They made sure to ask me if any questions came up during the job. The paint work was done with great finishes. We had some cracks which had to be filled; they did this work very efficiently and at a minimal cost. The rooms look beautiful.

My husband is extremely picky about painters so he was happy with the work but he also found some imperfections and drips from their work as well. They did arrive when they said and the two guys were friendly and polite. They worked hard and finished the job roughly within the time frame stated.

With Bill's supervison; Taso and Christine went to work on the interior of our somewhat destroyed house and made it look great. Plus we were very comfortable having them in our home and enjoyed their company. Of course they were all business and seemed to take great care in their high quality work. We've owned a number of homes and have hired other painters but none who were aws considerate, conscientious and detailed as the crew from Larkin Painting. Everything they touched looked perfect, we are very happy and recommend them to anyone who wants it done right the first time and don't have the time to worry about it. Bill Larkin and his team get it.

It went smooth and aniety free. They moved everything large painted then put all back. Totally fast, clean and quality work

We've been in the process of our renovation for (what feels like) ages. Dealing with Larkin Painting and Bill Larkin has been one of the best and smoothest parts of this whole process. Bill came in person to see the job, emailed a very complete estimate within days (including a two year guarantee of the work), and followed-through as promised. He was here when the job began, during the process, and when it ended. His two person (female and male) crew was a pleasure to have in my home (and I work at home.) The the work they did was impressive in terms of prep and process and their attitude was positive no matter what I asked/added. i've experienced really awful painters, and blah/decent painters, so I totally appreciated this talented, fastidious, and friendly crew. I will hire this company again in a heartbeat.

He was fabulous. He is extremely reputable. His pricing is very fair. He hires excellent people. He is very responsible, and he follows up on every job.

Bill Larkin is the kind of professional that you want to deal with. He is extremely fair, honest, delivers quality through a team of really good folks and cares. Isn't that what you are looking for? When some small issues arose around the painting/sealing some cracks etc. Bill was right on top of it and responded with a fix.

The owner is very nice but very poor at responding by e-mail if you are asking for information on quotes, scheduling or anything. So, he was finally called back. I originally had one of the buildings painted in June 2011 and it took a long time in order to have him actually respond to set up a date. I don't live in that building anymore and I assume that the actual painting went well, but I was very annoyed with the process of trying to get him to respond to my e-mails and calls so that I could schedule an actual date to have the building painted. There was a little bit of a communication issue as to what the expectations were once the building was being painted regarding where his workers would go to the bathroom and things like that. I felt that such things should have been his responsibility to figure out beforehand. I assume that the actual painting turned out fine and his bid was reasonable, so it wasn't like I had any issues in terms of the quality of the work. It was just very difficult to actually schedule the work. I was literally getting ready to go with someone else. He responded after I left a voice mail saying that I would give the work to someone else if he didn't respond within 24 hours. People who live in that building have commented that the painting looks good. I may use this company again in the future but only for a non-essential project.

They did a very good job. The price was about $6000, which was moderate. My experience with them was very positive. Bill Larkin was really good to deal with. He was fair and came through everything. He was timely. He did very careful and thorough work. They really put a lot of thought into the colors. They were very pleasant to deal with. I felt we were getting that kind of service for what we paid. It was a pleasure to deal with them. Bill's thoughts go into the job. I would definitely recommend them. The job went on a little too long because they disappeared for three days, but they still did a really good job. It wasn’t because they were just standing, but it was because of the planning. They did one room versus another. They approached it from a very careful and thorough point. They also came when they said.

They were very friendly and very neat. They were very concerned that the job was done right. The job was fine. The price was a little high.

It is very difficult for someone to give an estimate on taking down wallpaper. He was very professional and courteous but his rates were higher than the other estimate I received. He gave me a job rate as opposed to an hourly rate and it made it difficult to compare the two prices but ultimately the hourly rate wound up to be less expensive. I would recommend him as he was a pleasure to deal with. It just came down to the total cost.

We called Bill Larkin and a few other painters for estimates. Bill came out to the house and walked through, listening to what work we wanted done. His estimate wasn't the least expensive one we received, but we chose him because of 1) his professionalism, 2) his responsiveness to calls/emails and 3) the other great reviews on Angie's List. We're glad we did! Bill's crew of 3 worked long days at our home and did a great job. Our house is older (1930's) and has many coats of paint piled up on the moldings, requiring more detailed work to get a straight line where the molding meets the wall. The crew paid careful attention to detail and even caulked some areas like around the painted fireplace mantel to get a finished, smooth line despite caked on paint. Bill answered phone calls promptly and got messages to his crew accurately. We had zero complications or issues with any of the work they did. In fact, we decided to change paint colors in the baby's room after they had already painted- and by that evening the new color was up and perfect! His crew were truly professional and respectful of our home. Maybe it's not appropriate to say this, but we found that unlike some (okay, all) of our other contractors- this crew spoke English, making it easier to communicate with them and get the details we wanted done perfectly and in record time!

I chose Bill Larking Painting from all the positive comments on Angie's List. Bill arrived on the first day with his work crew. He did a walk through on what work was to be completed with me and then relayed this to his crew. Other than a couple of phone calls he made to me that morning on my cell, I don't remember hearing from him until after the work was completed. I was the one who contacted him via email to ask for an updated invoice and to inform him of the sloppy mistakes his crew were making. Even though the work crew put up plastic sheets to help cut down on the sanding particles, the kitchen counters, coffee maker, computer, dishes...all needed to be cleaned. Initially, my biggest concern was observing them wash their brushes in the kitchen sink! Even when dishes were in the sink! When I discovered this, I told them to use the utility sink downstairs in the laundry room. So now, first problem was fixed. Midway through the project, I noticed white spots over my hardwood floors and on the carpets stairs. I showed them pictures of this that I took on my digital camera. I told them to put more drop cloths down. They apologized and did better with the drop cloths for the remainder of the job. They tried to clean most of the spots on the hardwood floor and stairs. (After two weeks since the completion of the job, I heard from Bill who previously said he would pay to have this cleaned. I cleaned the hardwood floors myself since I needed to put my furniture back into those rooms. He offered to have his cleaning company clean the carpet stairs or have me hire my own cleaning company. I chose the later. The primer stains lightened but were still noticeable. Bill paid for this and also had his own cleaning guy come out to help clean the primer off the stairs. Bill also offered to replace the carpet on the stairs. I chose to live with the lightened primer stains rather than have Bill replace the carpet.) Just when I thought there would be no further issues, I noticed an entire wooden trim where they must have forgotten to use painter's tape. This resulted in white paint getting all over wooden stain on the inside of my kitchen area. This wasn't just a few splatters, but the entire top and side of the area molding got covered with white paint. When I showed this to the workers, they apologized again and cleaned it up. So now, this issue has been fixed. As long as the workers were supervised, the work was fine. But I don't think it should have been my job to inspect their work each day. After all, this is a professional painting company, right? Even something simple like where to throw away trash should have been pointed out to them. For example, debris and plastic drink bottles were thrown into our buckets that we use for lawn debris. They saw the buckets near the shed and assumed that is where to put all the trash, rather than in the garage. A few years back, I picked someone off Angie's List to do my bathroom over. I never had these issues. So with supervision, the projects all came out fine. I would have to say the crew was always polite and did everything possible to allow us to use the stairs, even when they were working there.

They gave me a totally unrealistic estimate for painting. In fact, my impression was that they saw my house, and they just assumed that I have money lying in my pockets. I have a Northwood house, and it is a large house; but when they came in with a $25000 estimate to paint just the trim, I thought that was ridiculous. I thought it was way out of the line. The person who owns the company was professional. My impression was that he was trying to milk this for as much money he wanted. He gave me a very detailed quote. He got it within the timeframe he promised. He seemed to be professional. My husband did most of the dealing with him.

Bill Larkin and his staff were superb. Very professional and flexible due to unusual circumstances of the job. We had family members moving into the apartment unexpectedly and the apartment needed refurbishing and the bathroom was pending to be remodeled. Bill Larkin was completely flexible and worked around all the starts and stops that were required during the remodeling process. Bill's crew came in and redid the two bedrooms under a short window to get the rooms ready for the family members to move in. They then moved into the kitchen area and proceeded in getting that room finished so there was livable space while the other rooms were under construction. Once notified that the rooms were ready to be completed he sent staff in to complete the project. Bill was contently assuring us that with all the starts and stops he had everything under control and he did. The place came out beautiful. We would absolutely use Larkin Painting again and plan on it when we do work on our own place in the same two family house. Thanks Bill and staff for a fabulous job!
