Description of Work: They sold us and measured for installation of roman shades which were purchased because the sun was coming in and could fade newly purchased upholstered furniture. There was no discussion in the show room about the different options available from different companies, only about color and UV protection. The company they chose to use had only one installation that fit our windows (see later). The shades were delayed by weeks requiring Innu window to install temporary paper roman shades to block the UV rays. When the deadlines for delivery (two) came and went we would have to call them to find out where the shades were (back ordered first time, enroute the 2d). When the shades were installed (at no charge to us because of the delays) the mechanism for raising and lowering the shades was so outdated and cheap looking and mounted in such a prominent place that delivery was refused and they took back the shades. When they tried to switch mechanisms they found that the only other mechanism for raising and lowering the shades would not fit our windows. They did agree to refund the deposit.

It is always hurtful to read a review such as Member has written. As you can read in all other reviews we pride ourselves on on our product knowledge, experience, and most of all our high level of service to our clients. This customer has found bad in much of what we tried to do to service them. First, they have claimed their shades were excessively delayed due to a backorder and that we were forced to install temporary shades. In reality an order such as theirs can take up to eight weeks as it did in their case. And each year Innuwindow gives out thousands of free temporary shades because our clients need privacy regardless of the the timeliness of our installation. This is part of the quality service other Angies list reviewers appreciate. The customer has also mentioned our decorator did not discuss mechanisms and implied we installed a substandard mechanism. This customer actually visited our store and was shown the exact product we installed. This was not mentioned in the review. A great benefit to our customers is that we have a large showroom and an experienced staff. The decorator that worked with Member's wife has been in the industry for over twenty years. This customer had little mounting space with which to work and our decorator specifically designed and presented a product that would cleanly fit the challenging window opening. The client was upset with the placement of a cord cleat on their window casing. This was installed because, due to child safety laws, it is required and Innuwindow installers know each product they install must meet child safety guidelines. We even offered to exchange mechanisms but the customer was not satisfied with the alternatives. Last, our goal at Innuwindow is to have satisfied customers. In this case the customer was disappointed with the finished product so we promptly issued a refund and left the temporary shades so they would have coverage until they found something else. At Innuwindow we learn from every experience and we have taken steps to assure our customers know exactly how their shades and child safety devices will be installed in the future. We are sorry whenever a person feels compelled to write a review such as this as it reflects badly on us. In this case, we feel we did much right even though the member didn't feel this way.
