Coan is very good. Their prices are not particularly low, they are more average. They do have a service contract, but is not included in the oil price. They offer a very good model for a decent price. They did a good job and offer a good service.

I never heard back from them for several weeks.

We have an ongoing relationship and contract with them. We have used their for several years. Their guys are very professional and prompt. One time when he was here I asked him if he could give me a quote to decommission one of our oil tanks and even though that was not his job, he called their service department and got a quote for us. He took the extra step to have that information saved on our file because we were not ready to do the work. He provided an extra level of customer service, which we appreciate. They are not inexpensive.

They have been good. The service people are good, too. They are very professional. The only thing is that sometimes the person whom we call on the phone is a little rough. The woman who answers the phone hasn?t been particularly friendly to us. She sometimes seems annoyed that we call. We can?t comment on their price as we don?t have a point of reference for the same.

All in all it was a good experience.

I like that they give me a written report on the efficiency of my furnace. The service people are always pleasant and considerate of our relationship. They phone before they come to my house. They ask me if I want to replace parts before they do it. I think that you can rely on their advice and service.

They showed up and were pleasant service people. They were very through in their process and found the problem with my furnace. They provided me with a couple options and I ended up having the furnace replaced.

We have been a customer of Coan Inc. for over 20 years. They have always provided the oil and service for the furnace. Their techs have displayed professionalism and quality workmanship. Their payment budget plans also work well for us. Last year we gutted our garage to update the insulation, thicker drywall and make room for organization shelving. Along with this came consideration for a new oil tank. Being a current oil customer they gave us a 24 month, no interest payment program and they scheduled arrangements with a 3rd party that they partner with for their tanks. This group arrived on time, accommodated my need to complete some work behind the area where the tank would go and left without leaving any mess. We have been very pleased with our relationship with Coan Inc. They have made our life less complicated by handling the timing of the oil deliveries (without ever running out), preventative annual service and the rare emergency calls that we have had with great speed.

We have not had a good experience with the installation portions of this work. To keep it brief. 1) They installed the wrong furnace and were quite angry with us when we requested that it be replaced with the correct furnace (vs. having them recondition the one they originally installed). 2) we accepted their "free" service contract which seems to have a very high price for oil compared to other companies 3) the project was to be completed in the late spring (turn on AC system, add high returns). We called in advance to list the work to be done, but when the worker arrived, he thought all he was doing was starting the AC (therefore, did not have the supplies to do the other items on the list).

For oil, we hired Coan after a bad experience with another co. They are reliable, professional & courteous. When we called after realizing they hadn't done the annual maintenance they promised free for the 1st 2 yrs., they immediately scheduled the service & waived the fee for another yr. For AC, we chose Coan based on other AL reports, our experience with them as our oil supplier & their price, which was about half that of another firm. They were available to do the work fairly soon. Work overall was fine. Our contact there went on vacation & the workers didn't show the day he'd told us. The excuse was flimsy & we had to wait over a hot weekend. They were otherwise responsive to our questions before & during installation. The condenser location initially wasn't well planned, but we worked it out with the installers, who cleaned up well when done & explained the new thermostat thoroughly. Coan conveniently broke payments into 4 equal installments, payable by credit card if desired.

The company provided me with the fixed price for oil delivery service for 2006-7 which was drastically higher than anything the competition offers. ($3.09/gallon) I contacted them to discuss whether they will negotiate the price and the arrogant sales person refused to discuss it, despite falling oil prices. My business is going elsewhere.

ALTHOUGH I SELECTED ANOTHER COMPANY TO PERFORM THE WORK, I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO RECOGNIZE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAD NOT BEEN A CUSTOMER OF COAN BUT HAD SEEN THEIR TRUCKS AND ADVERTISING. I CALLED AND REQUESTED AN ESTIMATE TO REPLACE MY OLD HEATING SYSTEM. THE SALES REP WAS COURTEOUS AND RESPONDED QUICKLY. HE CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY TO MEASURE ROOMS AND LOOK AT THE OLD SYSTEM. HE ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS AND MADE RECOMMENDATIONS AND I GOT AN ESTIMATE WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS, AS PROMISED. ALTHOUGH I LEFT A MESSAGE THAT I DECIDED ON ANOTHER COMPANY, THE SALES REP RETURNED MY CALL TO FOLLOW-UP. OVERALL, A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD DEFINITELY CONSIDER WORKING WITH THEM IF THE NEED ARISES.

WE MOVED INTO OUR HOME AND WANTED TO ADD CENTRAL AC AND REPLACE THE 40-YEAR OLD FURNACE. COAN OIL IS ONE STOP SHOPPING AND ONCE INSTALLED WE WERE PUT ON A PAYMENT PLAN WITH THEM TO PAY OFF THE ITEMS. THEY HAVE A 24/7 CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER IN CASE OF LATE-NIGHT EMERGENCIES AND THEY ARE VERY RESPONSIVE AND ACCOMMODATING FOR SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS. THEY ALSO PROVIDE OUR OIL.
