3G's Construction

We hired Rich and his team for a second time because we were so happy with the work 3Gs did for us previously. Rich's team worked tirelessly to tear down and rebuild a huge section of our house. We faced dry rot and some additional surprises lurking in the structure, but Rich always took the time to explain the how, what, and the why for any additional work required. We couldn't be happier with the finished product, it is hands down the best room in our house! We would absolutely hire 3Gs construction again! High character guy, great work, and a relentless attention to detail.

Came in for a quote. Said they’d respond after the weekend. Never heard from. Informed that I didn’t hear back, said they were busy with the holiday, so I was fine assuming they’d get back soon. Never heard from again. Reached out again after a month regarding my quote to no response. So I don’t even know how overpriced this would be. We discussed how I wanted to get this done soon as it’s a safety issue for my toddler and is of rather important because of that. Instead I get a cold shoulder and not even the dignity of a follow up. Wanted to discuss having them also do my kitchen reno, so it looks like they’re out double projects, when a simple quote was all that was needed to move things forward.

Great! Rich and his team where punctual, friendly, reliable, and did great work.

What really impressed me about Rich was his professionalism, attention to detail, and transparency. When he gave us a quote, it wasn't in a manner that other contractors were doing (Living room: total cost). Instead he broke down every aspect of the job and reported each cost associated. This attention to detail and transparency is what made us feel comfortable going with him over other contractors. After work started, a few items did come up that added to the cost, but he took the time to explain what they were, and why we had to address them. They were items that (even as an inexperienced homeowner) I knew needed to be addressed. This brings me to another quality that I appreciated from Rich in that he took the time to help teach us as well as work on the job. When the work completed, we now had a room that we are proud of relaxing in after a long day. We look forward to working with him in the future.

Not great. The owner was rarely there and his employees didn't take his direction well. Not happy with the overall results but was just glad that it was over.

I had some termite damage around my garage doors. When 3 Gs began working on it, it was shown to be much more extensive then previously thought. Richard and associates were extremely helpful in getting the appropriate contractors to assess the scope of the work and complete the job within a very tight time frame. Richard was also very valuable due to his connections with the building inspectors and obtaining the permits very quickly. 3 Gs was very easy to communicate with and any question I had was responded to very quickly. I was completely satisfied with my experience with Rich Gould and his company and am planning on using him for a deck remodeling

It went very well. He did great work, was clean, neat, and always kept me up to date on what was going on and was always easy to contact. We've re-hired 3G since that 1st project and I've always been happy with them.

Rich and his crew were AMAZING! They truly made what was a very stressful time manageable (saving the day after another company’s mistakes), and in the end, beautiful! I would HIGHLY recommend his company, and am looking forward to having them complete future projects for us. I seriously cannot say enough good things about Rich or his crew! The full story: We had some foundation issues which caused floor sinking in 2 bedrooms and our guest bath. We knew we had to remodel, but didn’t know how to start, or who to trust. I initially reached out to Rich via Angie’s List on a Sunday, and got a call back within about 6 hours, that night! The fact that I could reach him on a weekend if need be, or send a text and get my questions answered in a timely manner (which wasn’t always during “business hours”) made all the difference. He truly cares about his work, and the needs of the people he is working for. Long story short, Rich’s crew came in to gut/redo our beds/bath. They were timely, and always took great care to make sure they were as neat as possible. He recommended a plumber and electrician, and both were great as well. His company stepped in several times to save both the day, and my sanity, during our 6mos project. Some examples: 1) We had an issue with the company that we purchased our bathroom vanity from. They were exceedingly unfair, had multiple issues with delivery of our items, and we almost resorted to small claims court, but decided the stress was not worth it. We ended up picking up our items at the store, instead of risking yet another failed delivery, and Rich met us with his truck at our house, and he and my husband headed over to retrieve our items. He didn’t ask for payment for this, he just wanted to help out, and make the project successful. Amazing. 2) During our foundation repair (which was quite extensive, and involved a foundation company out of NH doing injected foam “lifting” of our slab foundation), things did not go smoothly. The other company over lifted our slab, resulting in additional cost, jackhammering, trenching, and repacking one of our bedroom floors. That company all but walked away, giving us a small amount that they thought was “fair” to cover the 600 extra pounds of concrete that would have to be removed and replaced when their guy screwed up. Rich figured out how to cut off the overlifted section so that we wouldn’t have to remove a portion of the foundation wall, carted away the material, and repoured our floor with minimal financial impact to our overall project. At the end of the project, we ended up with a brand new guest bath (tile floor, surround, tub, and shower shelf inset), 2 new bedrooms, 8 new doors, new pergo flooring throughout, an upgraded electrical panel, washer/dryer moved to be up to code, new ceiling lights, new baseboard heat, and new molding/trim. The final product is stunning, and we couldn’t be happier. We are hoping to have them back soon to redo our stairs/railings, and outside deck. Thanks, 3G’s Construction!!

Many thanks to Rich and his team for the great job they did renovating our kitchen! We have a small kitchen, and it was old and not very functional. Rich initially reviewed our kitchen plans and provided a detailed estimate for the work. The renovation was a complete gut job, and from day one everything went smoothly. The work started right on time and was completed within budget and more quickly than anticipated. Rich was always available to answer questions and consult on any aspect of the project. He and Steven were very proactive about providing options and keeping us up-to-date on the progress. The work included demolition, insulation, drywall, floor tiles, cabinetry installation, electrical, plumbing, painting/trim, and a beautiful tile back splash. We were very impressed with the quality of all aspects of the work, and it is evident that this team takes pride in a job well done. Many thanks to Steven, Jonathan, and Stevie for their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and hard work, and to Rich for working with us to ensure the end result was even better than we anticipated. We are thrilled with our new kitchen! We look forward to working with 3 G’s on future projects.

Rich and his team were knowledgeable and friendly. They helped us navigate the back and forth with the insurance company and couldn't have been more helpful throughout. I would not hesitate to recommend the 3G's Construction team and have in fact just had them come back for an estimate on another project. Top quality work at fair prices can't be beat.

Everything went really well. Rich prices projects fairly and gets things done right. Comfortable letting these guys in the home unsupervised. The dog even liked them.

I contacted Rich on Friday to see if his team could come and put up a soffit in our basement. We coordinated schedules via email and found a time the following week for him to come look at the job and give us a quote. Rich arrived right on time for the estimate, and it took him about 15 minutes to size up the job. He wrote up a quote within a few days, and the price was terrific. We then scheduled to have Steve come to do the work the next day. Steve showed up at the agreed upon time to take measurements so he could buy the relevant materials. He completed the work --- from start to finish, including all necessary woodworking, painting and caulking --- before the end of the day. The end product is very high quality; it's not an inch bigger than it needs to be, and as a consequence the low profile is unobtrusive and blends in with the rest of the ceiling. Our basement looks much better! Steve did a great job of cleaning up the work area before he left. He was extremely polite while he did his work. This is our second time working with Rich and his team, and both times everyone we've interacted with has been really friendly.

As with any old structure there were issues revealed as more sections were opened up. Rich provided a change order amount and explanation of added work for owner approval. All goals of the project to rebuild, re-roof and open the interior went well. I never had a concern having Rick and his competent teamwork around the property.

This was our second time using Rich, Steve, and 3G's Construction and they didn't disappoint. Rich and Steve came by and provided a prompt estimate. They were able to fit us into their schedule in a reasonable amount of time. Steve did most of the work though his son helped remove the door and install the new one. Another worker also did most of the plastering and painting. The guys were polite, clean, and efficient. We are happy with the finished product though there is more gapping around the door and frame then we had hoped. That is primarily because of sagging in our 1889 home and I think Steve did the best he could to fit the new door in plum and square. We will absolutely use 3G's for our next project.

We decided to refinish our dirty dusty storage only basement into an office, bedroom, and bathroom in the spring of 2016. After contacting Rich, he got out to meet with me as quickly as he could. He walked through the project with me, letting me ask as many questions as I needed to in order to feel comfortable with the process. They worked tirelessly from July-September and we couldn't be happier. I can count on less than one hand the number of "issues" that came up; the issues were resolved immediately and had no hindrance on the project whatsoever. All of the guys were friendly, professional, and went above and beyond in their work. They showed up to work every weekday, even Saturdays, to accomplish what needed to be done, sometimes before our family had even woken for the day;) They did everything we asked of them and more, and were a wonderful group to have around. We trusted them in our home, with our children, and would use them again in a heartbeat. The office is bright and a perfect place for my husband to get his work done. The bedroom is relaxing, quiet, and beautiful. The bathroom is my favorite bath in our entire house! The paint work, details, flooring, etc, is awesome! We couldn't be happier!

We were very pleased with all aspects of the project. Rich came to our house to see what needed to be done and spoke to us about different options and what they entailed. The written estimate was clear and straightforward. Once the project was underway, the crew showed up every day and got right to work. They were professional and easy to be around. A couple of times they uncovered additional problems that could not have been anticipated before the start and 3 G's gave us a reasonable price and options for dealing with those. They finished earlier than they had initially expected, which was great.

Rich and his crew went through quite an exhausting ordeal with us, and we're glad he was by our side. We initially had some water damage due to ice dams from the tough winter of 2015. We knew we'd have to repair part of the ceiling of our living room, and potentially the floor of the same room. We were in for a big surprise. It turns out water had basically destroyed the whole ceiling, part of the roof, the entire floor of the living room, and the roof, floor and walls of the sun room beneath. It had also spread mold throughout the house. Rich worked very closely with our insurance to make sure we could get almost everything fully covered, and was very clear when something was beyond the approved scope. Additionally, when we had an absolute nightmare of a situation with the mold remediation company (Rainbow, but that's another review) he helped us get through the whole thing and keep the project going. The whole project took much longer than anyone had hoped, due in part to the mold situation, and in part due to Rich's very serious car accident that slowed things up. That said, the work delivered was very high quality, Rich and the entire team were a joy to work with. The pricing was very fair, and they were consistently willing to work with us to find cost-effective solutions. The best was Rich working diligently through the insurance company to make sure all our costs were covered, and generally help smooth the process. When he quoted a price for something, that was the price, even if it ended up taking more time or effort than he'd anticipated. He didn't make excuses or nickel and dime us every time something became a challenge. Rich is first and foremost a very fair, generous and thoughtful guy. He's a contractor we feel we can trust, and his team did great work. The nature of the project, and the ever expanding scope meant that scheduling things was challenging at times, and it was a bit of a start and stop job. Still, Rich and crew were great to work with, and we've already had him scope several other potential projects at our house. The rooms they worked on are now the nicest in our house, and we wish everything else looked as good as they do! I can't imagine looking to hire a different contractor for any future work, and would recommend Rich enthusiastically.

It went great. The job came with a few unforeseen challenges along the way and each time Rich brought them to my attention along with multiple options from which to choose which way to proceed. From there we would make a decision and move on. I'm happy with the work completed and won't hesitate to call 3 G's next time I have a big project around the house. When I initially shopped the job around I went to 6 Contractors, received 5 quotes back and haven't second guessed my choice once since I decided to go with 3 G's. They do a high quality job and their pride in their work is evident every time you speak with them.

I can?t say enough about Rich and his crew. From start to finish these guys were wonderful to work with. He has a crew that specializes in each area of construction, from framing and rough-in work to fine carpentry (including the subcontractors he works with ? all great) and we needed it all, as we had to go down to the studs to fix the damage. We lost our kitchen for about a month and a half and even with two girls under the age of three, it didn?t feel so off-putting because of the courteousness of Rich?s crew. Their work was meticulous and at each step went above and beyond what was charged to us. They truly didn?t need to do many of the extras they did, but as it was explained to me, everyone at 3G?s takes immense pride in their work and wants it perfect. And that was evident. My husband and I would often sneak in to ask questions (being wannabe DIYers) and Rich and his crew were ALWAYS willing to take the take to explain and walk us through their work. I?m sure many people wouldn?t of even noticed the add-ons, as much of the work is hidden, but because my husband and I are nosy, we did and as a result I was 100% trusting of the quality of the workmanship being done. It was such a pleasure to work with Rich and the rest of the 3G?s crew, through what could have been a very unpleasant experience (being without a kitchen). Another big note of appreciation was that Rich was so patient with us, really taking the time to go through each invoice and what that work entailed. It should also be said that they showed up EVERYDAY and 8am on the dot! It was truly amazing as I have worked with other contractors where it was a battle to get them to come out and equally a struggle to have them actually come back to finish the work! We now have a beautiful kitchen and we will most definitely use 3G?s again. I could go on and on with positive remarks, but I hope you get the picture. Call 3G's - you won't be disappointed. Highly, highly recommend.

We have done a few projects with 3G's and we have been consistently pleased with the whole experience. Their flexibility was remarkable, dealing with changes in plan created by us during the project. This project involved gut and remodel of a basement and bathroom. Much of the basement we did required a design-build approach, and it was very comforting to have such experienced professionals making sure we would be happy with the end result. I can't say enough about this companies willingness to take the time to discuss the project with us - some contractors are only there for the beginning of a job - Rich (the owner) was incredibly responsive solving the dilemmas that the project entailed. Taking the time to work with the customer and make things right separates this company from many. Their craftsmen are skilled at creating well-crafted, clean-lined, new spaces, and doing the extra work to make the job look the way you want it it. I remain amazed at Rich's ability to get subcontractors on site quickly and efficiently, and to steer me to the right companies that balance quality and price for the hardware they installed. The other reviews they received are well deserved, and I look forward to working with them again.

We came across Rich Gould & his 3G?s Construction in Angie?s List & noted him down for consideration while looking for other candidates .. but one interview with Rich & we were sold. We were looking for help with problems of rot, especially around the sliding door to our deck, around gutters over the deck, & on sheathing to our chimney (a particularly difficult place to even get to, much less work on). We wanted an expert to tell us what was wrong & give us some idea of what the costs would be to get things fixed. Rich spent an hour or two looking things over, & then sat down & told us what he had found. Rich is a powerful, knowledgeable, humorous talker. After telling us what he?d found & showed us what he was talking about, he explained that his prices were divided into Work & Materials. Work prices were pretty much cast in stone (that is, didn?t change once made), while Materials were estimates for costs of getting supplies from various sellers. He?s unbelievably sharp estimating jobs & completely at ease with customers (at least with my wife & myself), & seems to know experts for problems in any field outside construction. The job begins when 3G receives one-half the estimated cost. Rich & his crew do great work .. things get done the way they were described to us & within the time proposed. We were kept posted with hardcopy estimates & invoices, & Rich giving us frequent verbal updates. We felt comfortable at all times about what was going on, & trash disappeared before the end of every day. What can I say? Well, for one thing, we?re never going to search Angie?s List for help with construction problems again ? we have our expert!!

The project went very well. Our house is old and as a result of a low-hanging beam at the base of our 2nd floor stairs, we couldn't move our bed frame, box spring, etc upstairs. We brought in a different contractor initially, and he didn't apply for a building permit and simply cut the beam out and left. This didn't seem right, so we called in Rich Gould to take a look. He was not impressed with the previous contractor and immediately called the building inspector. After pulling permits, etc, Rich's guys came in a reinforced the existing beams and did a nice job overall. The building inspector was very satisfied, and the guys were professional the whole way. We'll definitely work with them in the future.

Rich and his crew were excellent. This was the first time I've ever had to hire a contractor, and Rich was patient and respectful when explaining everything to me. The workers were on time everyday, and were pleasant to be around. It is obvious that they take pride in their work and never rushed to finish anything. The level of effort that went into keeping everything clean was incredible. Upon arrival, plastic was taped all down the stairs and across the wood floor to keep it free of debris. A plastic barrier was hung to separate the rest of the master bedroom from the damaged sunroom to minimize dust and the room was vacuumed everyday. What I loved the most about 3G's construction is their attention to detail. They consulted me every step of the way to make sure they didn't miss anything and genuinely cared about my satisfaction. As a result, my new room looks absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this company for your contracting needs.

My wife and I are rookie renovators who recently used 3Gs to renovate our bathroom. Rich certainly lived up to his good reputation both on this site and with people we know who have used his company in the past. Despite being on a strict and modest budget, Rich treated our project like it was his most important and worked with us when some unexpected problems arose. He was also patient with the fact that we had never gone through a renovation before. Best of all, the bathroom turned out great! Rich and Steve are good at what they do! We will definitely consider using them again for future projects.

3G's Construction was one of three well reviewed Angie's List contractors we brought in to get estimates for a handful of projects around our home. Rich promptly came over and spent an hour with me on a Saturday morning reviewing my various projects. He suggested many great ideas and I had a good level of comfort with him from our interaction. Within a few days, Rich provided a detailed estimate that was comparable and lower than the other two I received. I decided to go with 3G's based on a combination of my level of comfort with Rich, Angie's List reviews, and the price. Rich scheduled us in a couple weeks out but things got delayed by the multiple winter snow storms. Due to the snow, Rich was unable to get a dumpster and instead had to truck away the demoed stairs in his pick-up truck. I was working most days Rich and his crew were at the house but my wife felt very comfortable with them there and we had no concerns giving them keys to our home when we weren't. Rich provided me with daily updates and always called with questions, issues, or any work that deviated from our agreed upon plan. Rich's brother Steve did much of the work and we were very happy with his quality and attention to detail. The old basement staircase was demoed and removed, joists and a subfloor were installed, the space was insulated, drywalled, painted, and pre-finished hardwood floor were installed to match the existing hardwood flooring in the hallway. We are very happy with the finished results. We look forward to using 3G's Construction in the future for our other projects.
