We experienced a house fire and needed a tremendous amount of work done inside our home to make it safe and liveable again. From the beginning, Rich and his team were very professional and understanding of our situation. They worked with us and our insurance company to make sure everything was done right and brought up to code. We ended up with the most beautiful home and a lot of peace of mind, as it is much safer now than before the fire. Our family is so grateful to 3 G's Construction for their hard work and patience throughout the process.

They were excellent! We had some some serious structural issues with our garage. They were honest about the work and communicated with us daily. He hired a subcontractor for some of the work but ensured that the subcontractor worked up to his and our standards. The crew went above and beyond! We WILL be hiring them again for future projects.

I was very pleased with the team. The owner Rich met with me and the insurance appraiser which helped a lot. The team was very respectful, easy to work with, pleasant, on time and was here every time they said they would be here. They advised me on paint colors, were attentive to detail, did little extras to assist and did a nice job on clean up after the renovations. They kept to their appraisal budget, were timely with the work, got the job done in a reasonable time frame which was very important to me. It was a pleasure working with them. I am considering hiring them to do a bathroom remodel at the appropriate time

After an initial problem with the permit, this restoration went very well. Rich and his crew worked diligently to get us back into our bedroom. They were professional and extremely likable. From initial phone call through completion we were always kept informed on what was happening. We were pleased with each step of the project. Every worker who worked on the project was professional, polite, and highly skilled. We are truly pleased with the finished product, it looks great and is just as we wanted it. We will definitely hire Rich & Billy and the crew for all our future projects. Great job guys! Thanks.
We had a great experience! Rich and his team were very transparent with the process and associated costs. Easy to reach via call/text and we’re very accommodating to scope changes during the project. I would highly recommend and will be hiring them again for future projects.

It went extremely well. The guys were very nice and extremely talented in their trade. They remodeled my entire dining room: Painted woodwork and walls, put up and stained wanes coat and chair rail cap, and put in a new laminate floor. I am extremely happy with the outcome. I will definitely use them in the future.

Rich and his team were amazing. I had some water damage in my home office, which required us to replace some of the outside and inside components of the room. He described the entire process as they were going through the renovation, he consulted with me on every decision and gave me the pros and cons of each option, and he and his team did amazing work. Not only was their work perfect, but they are the nicest people. My kids actually were sad when the project was over as they did not get to see them anymore. I would highly recommend Rich and will happily be using him in the future when I need more work done.

Rich and his guys did a great job, were personable and reliable, and even willing to help out when things came up during the job. We would definitely use 3G's again!
Overall I had a very good experience working with Rich and his crew and would definitely recommend them. RIch's understanding of the scope of work and estimates were accurate and prices were fair. He was very straightfoward and communicated in advance about potential problems that may be encountered before the work began (e.g., opening up walls), so we weren't completely surprised when some issues that needed to be addressed came up later. Minor issues always arise on projects like this. When I had a few minor problems with the work that was done (e.g., the door jamb that was installed was slightly off level), I was impressed how Rich took responsibility for it right away and fixed it no problem. Rich and his crew were good people and I would be happy to use them again.

Rich's approach on engaging our project is how a general contractor should function in the 21st century. Total price transparency, line item granularity, timeliness and honesty about possible complications. We wanted to remodel our kitchen and as part of that we needed a wall to be partially removed and plastered, leaving enough height for a countertop. Rich stopped by, evaluated our intention, provided honest feedback on possible complications, suggested ways to save money and then sent us a very detailed quote for each component of the work. This enabled us to pick and choose exactly what we wanted to get done at the price point that we had budgeted for. During the work, some parts turned out to be more complicated than initially estimated, however Rich was generous enough to just take care of it and even throw in an in-wall shelf removal and plastering. The quality of work was outstanding, as well as the timing of scheduling and arrival. He even offered to leave the bagster bag for longer in case we had extra debris from our project once his work was done. All in all, we were left with a great impression of the work done and would not hesitate to contact him again for any future work.

Rich and his team are just great to work with. When I had decided to finish a section of my basement, I had requested multiple quotes for an open ceiling idea approach that I had decided on. Rich came out listened to what I wanted and send me an itemized quote, even telling me that he needs to do some homework on the open ceiling approach. Others who had contacted, either lumped it all together, or even went as far as saying that the open ceiling idea was not doable due to code requirements. As the project processed, we decided to redo the stairs to the basement, which itself was old and not build right, and also change the basement windows that was built into the foundation of my 60 yr old. At each stage, Rich would keep me informed of what needs to be done, that he had verified with the building code inspector etc, and fill me in after doing his research to see how to accomplish what i wanted to do, even making suggestions along the way, while also paying attention to the budget. At every junction I felt he had the best outcome of the project in mind. What impressed me the most about Rich and his team was the attention to detail and also the creativity in handling the challenges that come with an open ceiling concept. The best reaction was from my 3 yr old, who saw the finished work and said it looked beautiful. I will gladly recommend Rich to anyone who has a substantial project to do.

Mr. Gould responded promptly to my inquiry and came to look at the job. He was very personable, seemed knowledgable and had some ideas right off the bat. He was going to get back to me within a week. After three weeks, I emailed; after four weeks, I called and left a message. Not even the courtesy of a response in six weeks. I am very disappointed, especially so since I had been very impressed in our meeting and had high hopes to get my project going.

We hired Rich Gould based on a recommendation and he seemed responsive and knew what he was doing as well as reasonable. We have an old house and of course, you expect challenges. What started as a 8k job quickly became over 20k by the time all was said and done. What was supposed to be done with in a few weeks took three months. His crew was nice and professional and everything looked great at first. But then the job was riddled with issues. Mistakes were made and had to be corrected, vanity was incorrectly installed (on wall rather than flush) and couldn't be corrected without significant expense to us though it was their miscommunication from Rich to his team; grouter had to come back six times because he kept leaving holes; they left us to seal all the stone and tile. To name a few. After all was said and done it looked nice enough but the wall was bubbled under the tile and the threshold into shower was just incorrectly pitched. And the initial issue, a leak, was back! I reached out to Rich Gould a few months later when the leak and incorrectly installed threshold became apparent and he responded initially and then ignored me never to be heard from again. The leak has become an issue and we consulted a plumber and another contractor and have come to find out the issues in fact are from improper installation of the Wedi system, poor grouting, incorrect tiling and placing the threshold upside down so it didn't pitch in. We are now left to have to tear out half of the work that was done. None of it was subcontracted work...all of it was Rich's crew. Beware! I am so disappointed in Rich Gould and 3G and feel like I was being taken. As a teacher, it was right the first go around and now I have to save my pennies to get their poor work repaired before it causes more damage to my home.

Response from 3G's Construction
I don't normally responded to reviews but this one is not correct. To start we quoted demo tub, vanity and remove and reinstall existing toilet retile tub walls for $8844.00 Then they wanted a shower with a bench which was additional tile cost and plumber to make drain line larger which cost extra $2199.88 Then they wanted a new tile floor which I had to pull tile and subfloor sister up some floor joist and re install sub floor and then they wanted all the sheet rock removed from bathroom which turned out to be a complete gut so materials and labor for all there extra's was $1500.00 Then labor to joint compound and paint$400.00 Then they want the down stair bathroom vented so that coast was $232.64 Total cost of project $13,176.52 They said there was a wet spot on there down stairs ceiling and I went and looked I sent my plumber and he said it wasn't coming from bathroom. Then they said water was getting on floor and plumber said they had the shower head pointed directly at shower door which was causing the water to go on floor, then they said skylight was leaking and that had something to do with my work I said it didn't and they needed a roofer to correct that and didn't hear back from them again until this review over 3 years later
Rich was great. He responded promptly to my inquiry, and gave me an accurate estimate of the cost. I was nervous about starting and the schedule, but once we agreed he went right at it. He said it would take 3 to 5 weeks and he finished in 4. I was impressed by the hard work Rich put into this. For the radiant heat, he sought out a company representative, who met us in my home to discussed what the installation would entail. Rich and his crew then followed the company's instructions to the letter, and now I have nice warm floors (the house is on a slab). The new floors look beautiful, and the doors as well. I included a picture of the insulation that Rich's crew installed in the walls. They are as careful with what you won't see, as they are with what you do see.

The project went great. I really liked working with Rich and really appreciated his knowledge of construction process and amazing honesty. You can find a knowledgeable contractor, but it is really hard to find an honest one. Any job at the end will have extra charges beyond an initial estimate. The question is how this charges are handled by the contractor. With Rich I felt confident and at ease that those charges are fair and justified. Pleasure to work with!
This is the second time we have hired 3G’s Construction to do renovations on our home. A few years ago they redid our master bathroom. They did such a good job we hired them to do the remodeling of our kitchen and guest bathroom. Richard Gould was a pleasure to work with. He listened to what we wanted and made helpful suggestions. He stuck to his estimates. Any time something unexpected came up (like some rotting support beams) he let us know right away and told us what our options were and how much it would cost. Any times issues came up they were very responsive took care of them quickly. His crew (family members) were very nice and respectful, and kept things clean. His brother Steve did very nice work and was very easy to talk to. Their subcontractors (plumbers, painters, electricians etc.) were good. And Rich kept an eye on their work and schedule. They take a lot of pride in their work and it shows. Everything looks great. It is nice to have contractors you can trust and I would highly recommend them. We have recommended them to our friends.

Rich is great to work with - responsive, knowledgeable, and careful. The way my attic rafters and trusses are set up (somewhat non-standardly, it seems), it was not obvious how to safely install the stairs without compromising the structure of the roof. He ran his plan by a structural engineer for a second opinion and got the thumbs up that it was a good plan. After that, the work was scheduled and completed in a flash. The stairs are very solid, and I'm delighted not to have to drag the step ladder in to climb through the little portal. We're already lining up the next (immediate) project, and I walked around the house with him - inside and out - pointing at future work. Rich has a wealth of experience, is clear about what he doesn't do himself (there's not much), and brings a lot of skill and creativity to the table. 3Gs are keepers!
Description of Work: Install pull-down stairs into attic
Top reasons I would hire Rich / 3G’s again and again: • Consistent, high-quality work • Great eye for design, and “outside the box” thinking for tricky design problems • Open / available for communication - (even on weekends and at night!) • Honesty and trustworthiness - (I never felt unsafe leaving them in my house alone, or having them come and go when we were on vacation.) • Tireless work ethic – (I truly feel Rich strives to produce the best product he can, including negotiating pricing with vendors to save his clients money!) Now that you have skimmed the “Cliff Notes” above, here’s a bit about our most recent experience: Our new stairs are gorgeous because of Rich and his crew! After 3G’s did a stunning job on our bathroom / bedroom gut & remodel, we again enlisted their expertise on what we thought would be a fairly small job – 3 landings done in hardwood, and 3 stairs fitted with oak treads where there was once carpet. Little did we know that whomever built our house in the first place had a very different idea of what “structurally sound” meant! Our small job quickly turned into a large one as demo progressed and we saw the extent of the poor construction underneath, but fortunately no job is too large for 3G’s! They ended up replacing almost everything on our staircase – in total, 12 newel posts, 16 oak treads, 3 new sets of stringers, rerouted some electrical, and most importantly, new joists to carry the loads properly and make sure everything was structural and safe. Although having a small job grow to a large one was on occasion stressful, Rich was always there with a kind word, some humor, and his consistent delivery of high quality work. He and his crew are truly a pleasure to work with, and he has become more like a friend than a contractor over the course of the project. He and his guys were also willing to try something new to them (and me) in the design department. After we realized we would be replacing our entire railing system, I decided I wanted a modern aesthetic, and liked the look of CableRail. Rich brought me a brochure on Feeney’s cable rail products, and my research and design began. I did some sketches, and we talked through the different design elements of what each choice would look like. We have an odd-sized landing next to each side of our stairs, and how to finish it was one of my biggest concerns. Even though I have a design background, I just couldn’t visualize it. Rich came over on two different Saturdays just to talk through the placement of the newel posts, how the railings would run, and how to finish the landings. At one point I even changed my mind after I saw where the posts would be anchored – no matter – he had his guys take the stringers apart and rework them to accommodate my new design decision. He was there to make sure my vision became a reality, and I am thrilled with the finished product!! I would hire Rich / 3G’s construction again without hesitation!
Richard was thorough and communicative every step of the way. We always had his full attention... from problem-solving to timing to explaining to me all sorts of things unique to his trade. He encouraged feedback and accommodated my preferences as much as possible. His team was polite, friendly, articulate and everything they did was high quality. When some unexpected changes came up, he pushed through, took the heat and got us what we needed. Our new room is stunning and we are already thinking about the next project we can do with him.
Description of Work: Porch renovated into a four- season room
This was the third project we hired Rich and his company to do for us, based on last year's outstanding bedroom / bathroom remodel. We had wanted to replace our 2nd story deck for several years, but hadn't yet found the "right" company to do it, although we interviewed and got quotes from 4 companies over the past few years. After the beautiful job he did on our bathroom, we decided 3G's was the company to go with! Our deck has become my happy place, and 3G's made it possible. Rich is always so flexible during all stages of the project - from consulting on the initial design, to accommodating changes as needed - he truly makes the stress of having construction done as painless as possible. When I wanted to use Ipe, a wood that Rich hadn't worked with before, he researched what was needed (i.e. special bits, screws, and fastening options) because it is such a dense wood, and we talked through our options to come up with a truly stunning design. I also wanted a "cable rail" railing that was a bit "outside the box" from the usual kits that you can purchase. Not a problem. :) Rich and his guys were able to modify existing kit materials, and work closely with a local lumber yard to create a truly custom railing solution. His expertise in construction and his eye for detail made the end result just lovely! If you are having issues finding the "right" contractor, look no further. Rich and 3G's Construction are your guys!

Rich and his crew are reasonably priced, professional, neat, prompt and thorough. He takes a personal interest in the project and listens to your ideas as well as guides you through the best path to a quality end product. I have grown to trust his thoughtful advice and I know he puts my interests first and foremost. I am a stickler for detail and 3GS has never let me down! I’ve worked with many contractors, but none equal 3GS. We have a house built in 1860 and you can only imagine what we were up against during this renovation! You can interview every contractor out there, but let me save you some time... Hire 3GS!
