Description of Work: My husband and I had a leak in the pipes inside of our walls and the resulting water damage meant we had to completely redo the kitchen, and parts of the bathroom and hallway. The job involved taking down the walls and ceiling of the kitchen, completely reconstructing the plumbing and electrical work (this involved going through walls and ceiling in 3 rooms), rebuilding the walls and ceilings, putting up cabinets, tiling the walls, repairing holes in the floor and reflooring. The job was made difficult by the fact that the company we purchased the cabinets from provided us with some wrong cabinets, not once but twice, causing a 5 week delay, and meaning the cabinets had to put up and taken down and put up again twice. Rich Gould and his colleagues in his company 3 G's Construction guided us expertly through this very stressful process. None of the delays were their fault; and indeed, they worked tirelessly at every point to advocate for us and move the project along. When we first got the news that half the cabinets we purchased were wrong for the room, Rich went to the company, explained to them their mistakes (it was very detailed and complex and really required an expert to explain) and advocated for us that the company replace all the mistakes, which they did. We continued to have problems with the store we purchased the cabinets from, and it was really helpful to have Rich on our side, guiding us on how to respond, and going to bat for us frequently. The construction work they did itself was excellent. Rich's brother Steve did much of the actual building. He is very skillful and very concerned with doing good work. He was very easy to work with when we suggested minor adjustments. We knew we were in good hands with him. One of the things I appreciate most about Rich is that he returns phone calls promptly. That really matters, and hasn't been my experience with other companies we have worked with. Rich is very focused on customer satisfaction. It's quite obvious when you meet him. He contracts out plumbing and electrical work to licensed practitioners who are among the best in our local area. His plumber Brian Benson (Benson Plumbing and Heating Co.) is particularly expert. All together, they are a class act! I give 3 G's an enthusiastic thumbs up and recommend them to Angie's List readers without hesitation. Neil Glickman Natick, MA

Description of Work: Rich and his team performed a bathroom remodel. They will make sure they know what you want. You control buying the hardware yourself so you get what you want. Communication is easy by phone, txt, or e-mail. They are a small team so you keep working with the same people. The end result looked great.

We have a semi-finished basement (2 rooms plus a 1/2 bath). The basement hasn't been touched in over 30 years (i.e. paneled walls). We only wanted the two main rooms renovated, not the 1/2 bath (although that will be done down the road). 3Gs installed sheetrock over the paneling (instead of pulling the paneling off and starting from the studs which would be way too expensive!), joint compounded the walls and came back every day to sand them and apply a wider swatch over it. They came at OUR convenience (nights and weekends, and Sundays too!). They were neat and clean and cleaned up everyday after they were done working. I was really impressed by this. Most companies don't bother to clean up, since it's only a basement! but they did an excellent job of cleaning. The paint job was immaculate! Now I don't even remember what it looked liked before! They made suggestions for baseboards and window sills. We had a covered box where the water main is located. They trimmed the cover, painted the whole thing, (even installed the quarter rounds around the base) installed hinges and suggested we get a cushion for the top and a throw pillow: what a great idea! Now we have an extra seating space and it doesn't interfere with the water main! Steve and Rich were very prompt and put in a full day. They wouldn't even accept water or coffee, etc. Steve even installed a "doggie door" in our bedroom (keep the little dog away from the big dog!). I will definitely use them again (perhaps the half bath?) and would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Richard came to do the estimate first. He gave us lots of suggestions that would cost us much less than other providers. He fully explained all the details which other providers did not (such as the electrical outlets/switches would need to be moved out). He told us how long it would take for each phase: demo, compounding, painting). We hired one of those national flooring companies, who said they could install the floor, flooring choice made, deposit paid. When we were ready to have the floor installed, the installer said that the floor wasn't level and in time would crack. He was very honest! He gave me the name of someone who could level the floor. WAY too expensive! Richard and 3Gs to the rescue. They leveled the floor, installed the underlayment, flooring, transitions, and quarter rounds. The end result was fabulous! Now our daughter (and her dog) have a warm, safe and beautiful space all her own!

This team of gentlemen were punctual, neat, polite and careful workers. Rich is accommodating and was patient with our many changes. The project started out small but ballooned into something much larger once the extent of the damage was discovered. Rich and his team were very helpful, moving our furniture at the beginning of the project, and replacing the blinds when we were ready to move back. The ceiling and walls look neat and even. The tile on the bathroom floor is cut well, especially around the curve of the shower. We felt that we were working with honest people who took pride in their work. And every day the work site was cleaned up and left tidy. I recommend this company.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced beam, joists, sheathing where water and carpenter ants caused extensive damage. Replaced roof. Insulated and replaced interior paneled walls with blueboard. Refinished ceiling, added new crown molding. Installed new bathroom tile floor.

Let me just say that I needed help with a few projects on my home in Natick. Knowing that i was not going to bring each one to completion due to scheduleing of other related projects or for other reasons. I asked Rich to work with me on the job and he did. Roof Gutters: Rich and his crew did a fine job replacing the gutters on the roof of my house. Bulkhead doors: Rich subcontracted the Bulkhead doors. The crew did a good job working with the existing foundation. Aside from not placing a rubber barrier between the steel bulkhead and the pressure treated wood (used as a heightener) the bulkhead looks good, is functional and water proof. Basement demo and rough frame: Rich and his crew completed the demo job I started and then rough framed the basement and insulated/sound barrier the ceiling. I am very happy with the progress so far. I really appreciated his crews work. They are a good group. Currently the basement stands as is as I am waiting to replace the water main line then move forward with the job. I would certainly contact Rich and use his team for completion of this job and offer him the opportunity for other remodel jobs i want to take on. Overall I believe 3G's to be honest and skillful and I would recommend.

Rich Gould came out to the house and provided us with a reasonable estimate. We had several other estimates in the same price range (all from Angie's List contractors) but decided to go with 3G's based on the their positive reviews, location, and the type of general contracing work that they perform. Rich and his crew removed the overhang and cleaned up the site each night. Having hired other contractors in the past that left the site a mess, this was greatly appreciated. Rich was vey accommodating to making changes that we requested and always made sure that we were happy with how the job was progressing. We are extremely impressed with the quality of the workmanship that the crew of 3G's provided. They take pride in their work product and build like they are working on their own personal residences. A LOT OF THE NEIGHBORS PASSING BY THE HOUSE COMMENT ON HOW GREAT THE OVERHANG LOOKS. When they completed the overhang, I was so impressed that I decided to have them do some other work at the house that needed to be done. I would strongly recommend using 3G's if you need general remodeling work performed.
Description of Work: We had a large overhang over the front steps of the house with a railing system on top and two large columns holding it up. We recently purchased the home. The roof on the overhang had been leaking for years causing the overhang to become rotted and unsafe. We needed to find a contractor to tear down the existing overhang and replace it. Being new to the area I decided to try Angie's List and selected 3G's based on their excellent reviews and proximity to my house.

Rich and his team were GREAT! They were very professional from providing the quote to the actual clean up of the site. They were on time every day and cleaned up after each day. This was an older patio with all the banisters that needed to be replace, scrapping , painting and screened in the porch. This is my first home and it was so important for me to have a screened in porch to be able to sit out and enjoy the breezes off my bedroom. Rich his brother Steve and Brother in law Rich worked through the horrific heat, and rain storms that we had to get this done in a short window for my first family visitors. Now we will have another place to go to relax while we have a packed house- without getting worried about the bugs bothering us. I would recommend 3 Gs to anyone and everyone!

I strongly recommend 3G's Construction because they are experienced, did a fine job, and are reasonably priced. The owner of this family-run business, Rich Gould, was very supportive throughout the project. He worked with the insurance adjuster to get the claim set up and was there every step of the way guiding us through the work. Rich and his team, Stephen, Richard, and Tommy (all family members) were polite and patient listening to our ideas and then providing great feedback which we typically followed. They worked around our schedule without complaint and cleaned up after themselves everyday. Best of all they kept our kitchen operational so we were able to use it throughout the project. There were several challenges getting around previously performed work that was sub-par, however they were quick to provide fixes with skill and without objection. Excellent work all around.
Description of Work: 3G’s did an excellent job for us on a large project stemming from storm damage along with additional non-insurance related work. The job included the installation of a new roof, gutters, skylight, cupola, and garage ceiling, along with interior repairs and a few upgrades to the kitchen. The interior work included replacing the kitchen ceiling and a portion of dining room ceiling, installation of a new stove island hood which required some tweaking to get it installed due to limited space, and new lighting which was subcontracted. They re-graded and landscaped an area adjacent to the house to prevent flooding through a basement window resulting from water collecting there during downpours. They also installed a drainage pipe to divert water away from the garage.

I wish Angie's list had a triple "A" rating because this is what 3 G's Construction should get...Rich was such a great guy and explained everything in detail. His first concern was to make sure he gave us the best price on everything...He even saved us money along the way...He made a point to stop by every day ..Steve & Rich, his workers were nothing short of precise and great...They showed up every day right on time...If they saw something that needed to be fixed as they were working, you bet they fixed it...to me that was great. I"m so glad I found them on Angie's List....I had never used that before....It makes me feel good that if I need something done, they will be the first ones I call....

Overall it went really well. His whole crew was very courteous, professional, did a thorough and wonderful job. Very pleased with the finish product. I would strongly recommend 3 G's Construction, because they are very experienced, honest and reasonably priced.
Description of Work: I was referred to 3 G's Construction Company through a mutual friend. I needed to replace the old windows and get an entire new kitchen. 3 G's Construction replaced all of the windows on the third floor with brand new Harvey windows. Richard remodeled my kitchen, went through the decision team at Home Depot in Natick Ma. He worked closely with me in choosing materials, colors, installation of new cabinets, appliances, new floor, and a back splash. In addition, electrical, plumbing and painting work was performed.

Overall, the experience was very positive. Rich Gould, the owner, is very good at communication. I never felt out of the loop or had difficulty reaching him. He returns e-mails and phone calls promptly. We agreed on a price that was slightly lower than the other two bids I received, and I felt it was fair. Most of the work (demo, insulation, drywall, electrician, subfloor) was completed by subcontractors. On the whole, they were very good. I?ve told Rich I didn?t much care for the electrician he recommended, but that was more because of personality than lack of skill. I was very impressed by how careful all the subcontractors were with keeping the work area clean and sweeping up after themselves. I also really appreciated how they worked around my son?s nap schedule, making sure to whisper when he was asleep and not using power tools. Work was completed on time, with no major hiccups, and just slightly over the estimated cost. That said, I?m giving the company a B ? a solid ?good? with just a couple minor issues that prevent me from rating it as ?excellent.? We had agreed that I would paint and be responsible for carpet installation. I didn?t notice until I started painting, but there several problems with the drywall, like exposed seems, wire mesh showing, and unfilled nail holes. It?s not major stuff at all, but it looks kind of sloppy, even after I sanded and painted. The drywall isn?t flush with the light switch, so the light switch appears to be recessed a bit. Also, because our floor joists were uneven, they installed the subfloor in two sections, and they aren?t level. I think they felt that with carpet you wouldn?t be able to tell, but even with a carpet pad and carpet which we just installed, it?s still noticeable. I sort of feel like at some point they must have thought, ?You know, it?s just a closet. It doesn?t have to be perfect.? And I agree with them. But it?s enough to make me hesitate to recommend them for more visible work. That said, I have a lot more usable space now, and the project was hassle free and completed promptly, so I do think it?s a good, reputable company, and I?d recommend for smaller projects like mine.
Description of Work: We hired 3 G’s Construction to finish a small walk-in closet area in our turn-of-the-century bungalow. They framed part of a wall, installed subfloor, and drywall.

We had initially contacted Rich for a garage repair job. He was professional and willing to explain every aspect of it in great detail. However, instead of settling on a garage repair, we decided to do a major renovation of our house. Once we were ready to proceed with the house renovation, we got in touch again. Despite his busy schedule, Rich was able to come in promptly and give us a general estimate which was very much in line with what we were expecting. He takes great pride in his work, and was very upfront about doing things by the book and constantly gave us tips on how to save money. His prices were always reasonable, and he shared the details. He also shared pictures of his work, and they looked great. In the end, we decided to go with a design/build firm for the convenience of having both the design and construction being done by the same firm. However, I have no hesitation in recommending Rich for his professionalism and flexibility, and will hire him if the need arises.

These guys are awesome! You want to hire them. They didn't have many reviews since they are new to Angie's List, but since they were nearby I thought I would give them a try. I'm very glad I did! I called some other people but after meeting Rich I didn't bother calling them back. Rich is honest and conscientious and knows what he is doing. He and his guys always showed up on time, always kept me up to date on what was going on and made sure that everything was done the right way. He had everything thoroughly permitted and inspected. Rich always went above and beyond and his pricing was very fair. We just bought a fixer-upper with lots of problems that needed to be fixed right away. Rich and his guys started right away . He introduced me to some great plumbers (McKenzie Plumbing) and electricians (John O'Connell Electric) and they have all been hard at work since. Rich seems to know someone who can fix all of our problems from removing sand from our basement, to building a new bulkhead, to someone who can custom make doors, and has made everything easy. He is very mindful of our family living here and cleans up every night. We still have lots of projects for him and will be calling him back again when we remodel our kitchen!
Description of Work: Demo'ed our old leaky bathroom, rebuilt the floor joists, installed new tub and tub walls, new bath floor and walls. Also installed lally columns in basement, removed 2 ft. of sand from basement, built new laundry area on second floor. Fixed many holes and rotten plaster from years of leaks.

Rich Gould, the owner of 3G's construction is a hard working, honest, fair and forthright person. We have used him for jobs at our rental properties and primary residence and he always does a great job. He also has many sub-contractor contacts that he can bring on-site to address areas outside of his expertise. Whenever he encounters unexpected conditions on a job, as is common in older houses, he always has good suggestions for options to address them. In order to open up the kitchen / dining room area, 3G's removed a structural wall and replaced it with a laminated beam embedded in the ceiling, and a column in the wall down to a footing in the basement. Rich brought the lumber yard and structural engineer on-site to size the beams, and took care of all permitting and approvals from the town. Harvey Industries actually sent us a couple of screens for our new windows that didn't fit properly. Rich took care of this issue with Harvey, and new screens were obtained without any effort on our part. Rich runs a very professional crew. He always makes sure they leave the work-site clean at the end of the day. I would highly recommend 3G's Construction to my friends and family.
Description of Work: 3G's Construction performed an entire gut and remodel of the kitchen and dining room in our 1952 cape. This included demolition of existing plaster; removal of a structural wall; removal and wall over an existing exterior door; replacement of an existing exterior atrium door with a new, larger slider; installation of new cabinets and appliances; new subfloor and hardwood flooring matching into existing; new insulation and walls, and a new ceramic tile backsplash. They also replaced all of the single pane windows on the first floor with new construction Harvey windows, which included siding and flashing work. They sub contracted the associated electrical, plumbing and painting work.

Richard Gould of 3 G's Construction was prompt reliable and courteous. He had to perform this job around the timing of the hurricane with severe rain storms. He was honest and fair with me. There were a lot of unexpected things which could not have been foreseen initially and he went above and beyond by doing extra work. The quality of the work was excellent. I have already hired him for additional work. I would recommend his services to others without reservation.

He helped me with the insurance adjuster. I've never put in a claim before, and he handled everything for me. Having him do that was a huge relief. He said whatever we need to do to make this right, he will fix it so the children live in a safe environment. I had been so stressed, and he took my stress out of the equation. One of the nicest things he did for us was when he was putting the plastering on the ceiling, he offered for my children to put their handprints on the ceiling. He got the ladder and helped get them up to put their hands up there.
Description of Work: A tree fell on our house. We found this company through a friend. Everything was covered under insurance. They stripped and reroofed. They put on new flashing and rakes. They replaced the rotten windows sills and casings from water damage. They replaced the lead around the chimney in a nice pattern. They did work on our 3 seasons room. There was water damage in the ceiling. They pulled the whole wall out and raised up the foundation so it's higher above the ground. They replaced the door so it would be higher. They replastered the ceiling. He dug french drains on both sides of the porch and put piping in. They took the dirt and filled in the holes from the old playground that he moved.

This was an old bathroom with a beat up claw foot tub and a wall mounted cast iron sink that partially overlapped the end of the tub. I wanted to modernize the bathroom, but there wasn't enough room for a new full size tub and vanity. The room was actually too small to even accommodate a pre-made fiberglass stand up shower unit, so I bought a plastic pre-made shower unit at one of the big box stores and had it installed. This failed fairly quickly by developing a crack in the floor, so I had the manufacturer provide a replacement, which also failed. At this point I realized that the only right way to renovate this bathroom would be to have a custom shower enclosure built in place. I contacted several contractors, including Rich at 3G's Construction, to have them look at the job. Rich was knowledgeable, experienced (he had a book with pictures of previously finished projects), friendly and seemed very trustworthy. He had done this type of job before, and had contacts with sub-contractors that he had worked with and trusted. Since a tenant was occupying the apartment during the project, and this was the only bathroom, Rich worked with me to make sure that the toilet was always re-connected each day at the completion of work. He made the project a priority so that we could minimize the tenant's time without a bathroom. He also had some great suggestions, such as a marble threshold to the shower, which greatly improved the overall finish of the bathroom without greatly increasing cost. The tenant was very pleased with her new bathroom, and I was so pleased with Rich's work that my wife and I have hired him to do our kitchen renovation project at our new single family house on a time and materials basis. it involves removing a load bearing wall, replacing it with a laminated beam, digging and installing a footing in the basement to support the beam, gutting the dining room and kitchen, installing new hardwood flooring, cabinets, a door, and windows, plumbing and electrical. We are very confident in Rich and 3G's and would recommend him to all of our friends.
Description of Work: 3G's Construction performed a complete renovation of a very old bathroom for me in my 1890 house, including complete gut, structural reinforcement of the floor, and a custom shower enclosure and pan. The shower walls and ceiling were completely tiled, as were the bathroom floor and the walls up to about four feet.
