Gaby's Carpentry

Gaby and his apprentice Sam did an excellent job of installing two wooden bookshelves and a cabinet in my home. The craftsmanship is beautiful and the installation was very efficient. They even carried the heavy wooden pieces up three flights of stairs. The built ins are great as they add value to my home and aren't pieces of furniture that I will have to move. Gaby is a master at his craft, highly professional, and a very nice man. I highly recommend him - you will love his work.

It exceeded my expectations. It really is a work of art. Gaby helped me decide on the scale and style of the table (based on some ideas I shared), and suggested using a cherry top and mahogany base. The finish is both beautiful and well-protected. I could not be happier with the result.

He was very professional, communicated well and showed up when promised. He was very clean with his work and packed up all the debris after being done. His workmanship on the pieces that were replaced was obvious.

Gaby was responsive, friendly, professional and did great work. We will gladly be hiring him again.

The results were beyond my expectations I was so satisfied and happy.

Gaby really understands customer service and was a great contractor to work with. He always quickly responded to all our questions/concerns (of which there were many so thank you Gaby for being patient with us). He rearranged his jobs to fit us in as we had a tight timeline to get the access doors in in time for the new a.c. installation. He came to the house for an estimate, built the doors and frame from the type of wood we requested, laid out plastic to cover the master bedroom furntiure, cut the hole in the drywall with a saw while using a vacuum to minimize dust in the master bedroom (since I have major allergies), installed the frame, access doors, and weatherstripping and it looks fantastic! Never thought I'd be so excited about beautiful access doors :). We did have to pull the permit ourselves which was a bit of a hassle, other than that and provided the weatherstripping 100% works and there's no cold air leaks during the winter, Gaby completely knocked this job out of the park; thank you so much Gaby for the help and beautiful job!!

I love my new cabinets. It's quality workmanship. It was a pleasure to work with Gaby. He had great ideas and he followed through on everything we discussed and agreed upon. He cleaned up carefully and I would absolutely recommend him.

Excellent. We are return customers and were very happy with Gaby's quality of work and the final outcome. Prior to the decision to use Gaby's services, he came to our home and helped design and layout a new kitchen for our family. He had many great ideas and concepts to utilize our kitchen space to it's fullest potential. When we decided to use his services he gave us an outlined schedule and met all the milestones perfectly. We now have a beautiful brand new kitchen with custom made cabinets at a cost lower than box cabinets. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the final product.

After researching Angie's List for contractors, I reached out to 3 contractors- out of the 3, Gaby was my ultimate choice. He listened well, understood the needs I had and offered various options with estimated cost...work began just before the holidays and ended in February and I couldn't be happier. I had my kitchen renovated and our family room repainted. Gaby was responsive throughout the job and was on top of everything from beginning to end. There are 2 minor fixes he needs to return for and he is working them now...he is very good! He also custom made the kitchen cabinetry himself, he is a very talented craftsman and both kitchen & family room look great! Gaby was extremely easy to deal with and I will definitely be using him again and would recommend him- -Gaby came back w/his electrician and replaced fuse panel for garbage disposal. -Gaby is setting up time w/his plumber to fix kickboard blower for heat in kitchen area near breakfast bar-

With Gaby in charge he made it easy and manageable for us. Gaby helped me designed the layout and cabinets. He had a lot of great ideas. He is an excellent craftsman. The cabinets and drawers look fabulous and work so smoothly. Very solid construction. Measurements were exact..All new stainless steel appliances fit perfectly. He was prompt, respectful and detail oriented. He cleaned up whatever mess each day. Gaby is extremely trustworthy and genuine. He is so talented and a hard worker. I am hiring Gaby to remodel our bathroom. He is also helping with some custom work for inside the kitchen cabinets and drawers. I highly recommend Gaby. And his pricing is reasonable!!

Excellent experience. Met with Gaby at his neat workshop and designed it. He called within the week to say it was ready...well ahead of schedule. The finish and detail work was of very high quality and he delivered exactly what I wanted. Price was very reasonable. Have a very happy son and snake. Will use him again.

Gaby did an incredible job with our cabinets. When he came to see the kitchen and do initial measurements he listened to what I wanted and then made some recommendations that I hadn't thought of, all of which were an improvement to my design. He came back and remeasured and gave me a timeline. The cabinets were ready early, which was a great surprise. He came in and installed them beautifully. Gaby is extremely professional, responsive and punctual. While his price initially seemed a little high, in comparison to others he offered substantially better quality and craftsmanship. The cabinets look fantastic and the quality is amazing. All solid wood, matching perfectly to our existing (many companies won't even attempt to try!) and the shelves are all adjustable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gaby to anyone looking for a talented and professional craftsman.

It went great. Gaby reviewed the job and provided recommendations on the best way to do them. He quickly scheduled us, he arrived on time as scheduled, and did great work. He matched the existing molding in one area where some had been removed during previous work. He was very nice and treated our home with respect. The work areas were left clean and without debris.

Gaby did a great job. The built out doors look orginal to the house. He is very skilled and works hard to get it just right. We were very pleased!

Great! He came quickly after I contacted him to give me a quote and was available shortly after that to do the work. He took a day and put glue wood blocks (also nailed) all along all the edges of the underside of the stairs that needed to be reinforced to help stop the squeaking and movement of the treads (we had 3 stringers instead of the 4 in new construction, which was common for a home of the age of our home). A little caulking on the topside of the stairs around the edges/risers (which had been newly installed) before painting was all that was necessary to finish the rest of the noise off. Now we have completely quiet stairs!

I had called a couple potential cabinet makers but no one was really responsive to my request. Gaby took my call and drove out to my house the same day to take a look at the cabinets and review potential options with me. It only took Gaby a couple days to complete the job and he campe back to drop off the finished product. I hung the doors myself and when I was done I noticed there was a small gap between the doors, so I sent Gaby pictures on my phone. He called back immediately and walked me through how to adjust the hinges to close the gap. In the end I couldn't be happier with the cabinets. Gaby was great to work with, he got the job done quickly, he was responsive to my concerns, and the cabinets came out great.

Gaby was amazing to work with. He's an artist, really, and takes a lot of pride in his work. He installed my kitchen cabinets and did a really REALLY great job. He really knew what he was doing and was able to troubleshoot in some cases when the cabinet company didn't supply exactly what they were supposed to or instances when the walls were not exactly straight or floor exactly level. Gaby kept me well-informed throughout the 2.5 days it took for the job. He didn't make assumptions, but contacted me before moving forward. I would absolutely hire Gaby again.

Gaby is extremely attentive to detail and a natural problem solver. He doesn't overcommit and delivers on time. Quality is superb. Some might be able to do your job cheaper but can't do it any better. If you want someone reliable and treats your home like his own, hire Gaby. He is worth every dollar and more.

I had Gaby come out to take a look at a small, unused area we had near our back entrance. I wanted to have a place to store hats, mittens, dog leash, etc that was neat and simple to use. We also wanted to have a place to sit and put on winter clothes before going outdoors. Gaby suggested a combination cabinet/bench with top storage and bottom drawers and a padded seating area with bead board backing. Instead of building the unit on site, he took lots of measurements then built the entire cabinet at his shop allowing it to be professionally finished using catalyzed lacquer to match our trim work in the house. Since we were in the process of remodeling the house, he suggested we add a toe kick heater to the area below the bench to help warm a cold hallway on the North side and give off radiant heat to the seating area. It took a few weeks to design, build and finish the cabinet but this is normal and what we expected. The bench was made using furniture grade materials (not particle board). The doors were raised panels made from hard maple. The drawer slides were high quality ball bearing slides that are completely silent. The cabinet itself is made from 3/4" furniture grade plywood and the entire face frame is made from furniture grade hard maple finished with catalyzed lacquer that matches our Ben Moore paint.. Once the unit was built, Gaby made arraignments to install the cabinet on a Thursday morning at 10:00 am and showed up on time with everything needed to install and finish the job in one visit. I planned to take the entire day off to help out if needed but it only took him about 90 minutes to install, trim and finish the job. The unit looked perfect and we have been using it since 2009 with no problems at all. It looks brand new because of the durable finish that was applied at his shop. Impressive workmanship and meticulous attention to detail are why I keep using Gaby for jobs like this. I met Gaby in 2001 in Wellesley and over the last 15 years, I have had 2 complete kitchens installed by him along with several smaller storage and finish carpentry projects. With Gaby, he does all the measuring, design, fabrication and installation for his jobs so I know I'll always get the most excellent product possible without having to worry about a "no show contractor" or poor quality work. He stays in the loop with me on progress and has always delivered an excellent product on time. I think the real value in using Gaby's services is that his overall knowledge and experience shows through his finished product. He's straight forward to deal with and is a "no pressure" easy going guy. I have seen many of the custom kitchens he has designed and built in Wellesley and Weston over the last 10 years and they are just fantastic. If you are looking for old school attention to detail and prompt, reliable service then I would highly recommend using Gaby for your next project.

Very well. The work was top quality.

Gaby was great! He came the day after we called and wrapped up the whole project in a matter of days. His first task was to help us shimmy a standing cabinet slightly, so we could move a new, larger refrigerator into place. Then he re-worked our over-the-refrigerator cabinet doors to be a couple inches shorter. He is a true craftsman, so you cannot tell they have been altered. Gaby was very professional -- arrived on time, provided an estimate, sent photos to show progress, and protected our floor and appliances with blankets during the re-installation. I have seen his other work -- kitchen cabinets, mudrooms, entertainment centers, etc. -- and would definitely recommend him for larger projects.

As usual, excellent in every way; exceeded my expectations. Workmanship was superb and materials he chose were of superior quality, which elevated the look of the entire project. Gaby made design suggestions that were very helpful. Work was done quickly and accommodated my schedule (even when I had to change it at the last minute). He sent pictures of the progress of the project, and everything was tidied up at the end of each work day. Very reasonable price for the scope and quality of the work. Couldn't be happier with the outcome!

Gaby came on schedule and did remarkably careful and precise work. The doors and shelves are beautiful. Unfortunately, the finish work (installation of the glass, painting) was done by the "contractor" who brought Gaby in, and this work was not great, took almost two months to complete, and still has some details missing. From what I now know about the contractor--who was probably not licensed and whose company now seems to be defunct--the markup on Gaby's price was probably huge. The price I have listed was for the entire job. I want to have a custom table built and will definitely ask Gaby for a quote.
