SavATree Middleton

This was the 2nd time I used Sav-A-Tree. This time I used an Angies List Big Deal. Not sure if the discounted price drove the responsiveness (or lack thereof) but I had a really difficult time getting the work actually scheduled. Provider wasn't very responsive. I had to follow up multiple times to get the work scheduled. In addition, there was a discrepancy between the estimate and the final invoice that was never explained. Although it wasn't a ton of money, it was annoying and felt cheap.

They did a good job,everything was cleaned up, and they gave me information about future plantings and things like that. It worked out well. I had used them in the past. We had used them 10 years ago to do some tree work, and it was a good experience so I called them again. The price was high, but they did good quality work.

They did a great job. We have had them come out since as well to inspect some tress and they give great advice and recommendations. I would recommend them and continue to use them.

They didn't do the stump removal because that would've cost extra. It did take a long time to schedule though.

Have used this company in the past. Since they are arborist, I needed to have some branches trimmed back. Very neat and quick service. Just a little pricey but they do excellent work and clean up and that is important to me.

I don't recall the cost - I'll update if I find the receipt. I do know they were reasonable and performed all the work they had said they would. Clean up was great and the results were great as well. We've used these guys several times and are always happy with the results. They've pruned several trees, actually saved a tree that another company said needed to be cut down, and brought our crab-apple tree back to a healthy state.

I have one large and one small tree in a small back yard in a very congested section of Salem. No chance to use a bucket or crane. All the limbs and branches had to be cut by climbing and hanging from harnesses. The Sav-a-Tree crew did the job quickly, efficiently and quietly. Except for a few bits of sawdust and a whole lot more sunshine flooding the formally dark space, you would not know they had been there. Job well done!

Ben, the arborist, came out in October to see what work I wanted done and after laying it all out, he suggested that we wait to perform the work until November when most of the leaves would be gone and the ground would be starting to harden/freeze, which would make it less lightly that my lawn would be damaged by the trucks. In November Ben and the 3 person crew showed up first thing in the morning even though it was raining lightly. Ben showed the crew what work was to be done and then got out of their way. They put out mats across my lawn so as to not create ruts or ruin the grass. Over the course of the morning they carefully took down the oak tree that was overlooking my house and fence branch by branch and section by section. I had them chip and remove the branches and foliage but they left the trunk for me cut up into 18"-24" sections so that I could split it for firewood. They did an excellent job and aside from one section that banged off the fence, breaking one small bracket it was done perfectly, including clean up. They also removed a second, smaller tree and took the wood with them as well as pruning back a few small saplings and branches that were starting to grow close to my electrical service line. I was very impressed with their work and how clean both areas were after they were done removing the trees. I was also impressed that they showed up and were ready to work, even though it was drizzling and chilly all day. When they were almost done Ben stopped back to check up on the progress and to make sure I was satisfied with the work (which I was!).

It went very well. It was a one day operation. I was contacted in person on the day I called them, and they did the work in less than a week. It was a two man crew with a cherry picker, using a bucket man, and a climber. We talked about the work all the way through. They were careful of the power lines, the property, and the tree. No vehicle entered the property to cause damage. This was an old tree that they helped to make healthy. They cleaned up efficiently, and left me a pile of firewood pieces. They seemed to enjoy their work and each other. We also talked about some future work on an apple tree that is also overgrown.

This company was very nice and helpful but the price was just going to be too high for us at this time. I would recommend them to other and when the time is right we would use them again.

Not too many details except to say that they were punctual, worked fast, very neat and clean and spent some extra time explaining the condition of another tree and how to resolve it without losing the tree. Good service and I would recommend them.

They were great! I had initial contact with a woman and she gave us good recommendations and a good quote. They were knowledgeable and their prices were reasonable. Everything turned out well and nothing was damaged when they were here.

My experience went well. They gave me an over view of the needs on my trees and we decided on a plan. I have used them annually since then to assess my trees every year. Scheduling is very easy and they are prompt and responsive to my needs.

Very pro and helpful, we just werent ready to do the yet

We were contacted promptly, a preliminary visit was made by Ann to see what we wanted to do. She was very friendly, very professional. A date was scheduled. They showed up as scheduled, did the work as unobtrusively as possible, cleaned up and all was well! They will return in April/May to treat the tree for pests. I'm very happy with the company and happy with their work.

Very knowledgable and professional. On the expensive side, but you feel like they really know what they are doing.

I had the deal refunded but would use them if they serviced my area. They were prompt in getting back to me; they let me know right away that they didn’t service my area. I was disappointed that they couldn’t do the work but was happy with their responsiveness.

SavATree promptly sent an arborist to give us an estimate. She told us that, while the company would like the business, they really didn't do that kind of project, and she referred us to another company. I appreciate that kind of upfront approach. Because I had already purchased a voucher for $300 worth of tree service for $157, we had them remove an unsightly shrub from our yard and trim another shrub. We are very pleased with the results and would certainly recommend SavATree based on our experience. Also, I'd like to point out that although I listed the cost of service as $400, we only paid $257 because we had the voucher.

They did remove some trees and branches for me and they were not punctual to arrive for the appointment. Three workers came to do the work and they were not very efficient.

I originally used Sav a tree when I bought a deal with Angie's list. I now use them for my tree maintenance. I had a couple of hemlocks that were sad and after the spraying and treatment by Sav atree they are looking much better.

In addition to this service, I had also ordered and received Tree Service from Sav-A-Tree. The total cost of the tree service (coupon plus added payment) was not a valuable serive for amount paid. In addition, the Tree Service provided was not what was stated in the esitmate. I had to perform additional work and cleanup to achieve what was stated that I would receive. For the amount of time spent and the amount of effort in providing the service versus the amount paid was not up to my expectations as to the benefits I would derive. Again, this is my opinion in never having had a similar service like this performed in the past.

Excellent. Work was performed as expected. No one needed to be home.

Team showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves as promised.

The work was completed very efficiently, and amazingly quietly. The team working was very professional and careful. They did a very good job cleaning up afterwards.

We bought a new house with an overgrown tree. We contacted Sav a Tree based on Angie's list reviews to see about trimming the tree or if it should be removed. They sent an arborist out to look at the tree first and make a plan. I asked the customer service rep if I needed to be home and she said no. When the arborist arrived, he called to find out where I was. I told him that I was told I didn't need to be home and he looked at the tree on his own. So, started with a bit of miscommunication. It was decided that the tree was in good health and coukd be trimmed to reduce chances of damaging to home in incelment weather. An estimate was provided and an appointment for the work was made a few weeks. The crew arrived on time, although the arborist who had been my contact throughout the process could not make it, so they sent his colleague. I confirmed that I did not need to be home and returned to a trimmed tree. There was no noticeable leftover debris from there work on our property. The tree was to be thinned, shortened, and very overgrown branches were to be removed from roof of house and above power lines. The tree was obviously thinned out (not as dense foliage). The height seemed the same and the overgrown branches were trimmed but still close to roof an wires. I was hoping for the crown of the tree to be smaller. I did inform the aborisist of this and he said he would try to stop by and check it out, but I did not hear back from him. I did pay for services because the tree was in better shape than before, but I was a little disappointed in the final size of tree. I have learned a bit of a lesson in tree pruning. As for whether I would use this provider in the future, I would say maybe (which was not an option).
