Description of Work: Jim did an excellent job. He was very responsive, communicative & punctual. He never complained despite the bad weather that delayed doing work and finishing the job. At the end of the day he always emailed what was done and what was left to do. He would tell me when he would show up the next day and what he planned on accomplishing. I would not hesitate to use him again.

Description of Work: He took down the chimney to the roof and rebuilt the chimney to code, put on new flashing and also a chimney cap. He also went up in my attic and took off the old and crumbling cement that was covering the old chimney and recovered it with new cement. My chimney was very old, over 100 years old and was short and not up to code, no cap either and when it rained, it would sometimes leak into my attic.

Description of Work: I had a chimney that was in serious disrepair and it was also not up to code. I had contacted Jim Sullivan through Angies List and he called me back right away and was out at my home the next day to provide an estimate. Once I signed the estimate he came out and rebuilt the chimney.

Description of Work: Jim rescued me from a less than mediocre mason! Jim had to remove the partially completed firewall in my fireplace, the smoke shelf, parging of the throat, and the damper done by the first mason. The town's building inspector felt the partially completed original work was passable but he had reservations about safety and quality of work. He gave me a long lecture on the "science " of rebuilding a fireplace as being a lot more than "piling a bunch of bricks." He did not feel the first mason was very adept at his trade. He left saying, "You should make a fire in there and make sure the smoke goes up before you pay him." I called Jim and he came in gave me an estimate and returned to do the job and did it the way he said he would do it. He rebuilt the whole firewall more completely than the earlier mason, parged the throat, put in a smoke shelf and installed a damper. I am very pleased with his work. Jim arrived when he said he would and finished the job in three days as he said he would. Jim is not a slick and glib salesman. He shares his thoughts and answers your questions to the point. He does not fill the air with useless chatter. He is confident in his ability to do the job and also confident that he has more work coming in. He does not have to spend time selling his services.

Description of Work: - Two chimneys restored - diamond grind and point all mortar joints on the furnace - remove and replace the broken bricks in the furnace chimney - add 2. - 3 inches of new cement to the cap of the fire. Place chimney - remove the moss and mold from the shoulder cap of the fireplace chimney - full inspect the flue liners of both chimney - sweep the fireplaces and check the dampers - apply one coat of clear sealer to each chimney
