Description of Work: Melrose came to the house to measure, evaluate cleaning needs and provide estimate for services. Moved some furniture to fold and remove rugs and placed the furniture back. Once rugs were cleaned, Melrose returned to replace gleaming rugs in their proper spots.

+ 0 moreThis company is so responsive, contacting us to arrange pick up and drop off. They are professional and courteous. We have used them several times (problem dog!) and they are great. Will certainly keep using them and recommending to friends. Reasonably priced too.
Description of Work: Cleaned 2 room size oriental rugs after our dog repeatedly eliminated on them. The rugs are great again, no change in color or texture, the small and stiffness are gone, no one can tell anything happened.

+ 0 moreWhen I called to ask about prices, they gave me an estimate based on size so I wasn't surprised when I dropped the rugs off for cleaning. They helped me unload the several rugs from the car and laid them out in the shop to explain what they could and couldn't do in terms of cleaning. Then the gave me the price and a date for completion. The did the work as promised and loaded them in the card for me when I picked them up. The rugs turned out beautifully and I would definitely use Melrose oriental rug again.

I picked the rug up at the store after the cleaning (delivery was optional, but I chose to pick it up). Dave and his staff were kind and professional. Told me when to expect the rug, and called me to the exact day that they said it would be ready. This was the first time I used Melrose Oriental Rug but it won't be the last.
Description of Work: Cleaned and repaired (at no cost) my 10.5 x 10.5 rug. The rug looks better than when I purchased it.

+ -1 moreThe employees of Melrose Oriental Rug are a wonderful example of professionalism. When I first inquired about their service via Angie's List email, they owner responded within an hour or so. After the rugs were picked up, the owner, Dave, phoned me to be sure I understood what they could do for me so there was no misunderstanding. When the rugs were returned to me, they were right on time, moved the furniture as needed and were careful to replace everything back on the rugs as I desired. The price was reasonable and my rugs are beautiful. Thank you, Melrose Oriental Carpet!
Description of Work: Melrose Carpet cleaning picked up 2 oriental rugs from my home, cleaned both and repaired one. The rugs were returned in beautiful condition with pads as recommended by the owner, Dave. When the rugs were picked up, the 2 employees were very clear about what could be done. They explained everything in complete detail.

+ -1 moreDave returned my call immediately and set up an appointment very quickly. I have oriental rugs that have been in my family for 3 generations that were quite dirty and needed a cleaning and new pads and also I wanted to get them out of the house before any damage was done to them during home renovations. Dave was very accommodating and came right out and picked up the rugs and now they have been returned. They look fantastic!! I can't believe how bright they look and how clean they are. Dave called when he said, arrived when he said, and delivered and installed when he said. I can't say enough about the great job and the professionalism from beginning to end of the project. I will use again to keep my rugs in good condition.

+ -1 moreWe used Melrose Oriental 3 times in the last year. First we brought a large oriental rug in to be cleaned. They did an excellent job and it was ready when they said it would be. We also bought some skid resistant backing for a smaller rug. It worked great. Since then we have been back two more times for additional skidproof backing for other rugs. We measure our rugs at home and they cut it at their store when we bring in our measurements. They are friendly, helpful and cut the backing while we wait. Although we haven't bought any rugs from them, the store is stocked with a large selection of beautiful oriental rugs. The next time we need a rug cleaned - and if we ever need to buy another rug - we will definitely go back to Melrose Oriental.

+ -1 moreThe information and service was excellent and I highly recommend Melrose Oriental Rug! They're a family owned business for about 40 years. It was reassuring and impressive to have David, owner and expert, attend to my oriental rugs and my needs as I was moving quickly from one home to another. He gave sound advice on the cleaning and getting rid of a moth problem plus what was worth fixing and not given the value of my rugs. David made a special effort to make sure the rugs were delivered the morning after my move -- with wonderful skill in positioning as well as laying out the padding and rugs in my new space. All was efficient, personable, and high quality. Melrose is a company that does a little extra, like repairing (no charge) what we initially said not to bother with because when they had a look it made sense to do it.
Description of Work: Gave background of their company and cleaning process on the phone. Assessed cleaning and potential repair needs plus costs for 5 wool oriental rugs at my house. Gave expert information and suggestions for dealing with moths. Removed, cleaned, and reinstalled rugs with new padding right after my move to a new place, all with high quality and attention to detail, in less than two weeks!

He just delivered my carpets and they LOOK AMAZING Colors are fresh and repairs are BEAUTIFULLY DONE, replacement pad purchased fits perfectly. It had been years since my carpets were cleaned, and a very large one was in need of repairs so I reached out on Angie's list to this company, Dave responded quickly to my inquiry, scheduled an appointment within a couple of days to look at my 2 carpets and give me an estimate. He called me when he was on his way and was very punctual, courteous, friendly and professional. He was very good at explaining the repairs that were needed on one of my carpets and how they would be done. He marked the rugs so that they would be turned properly in the room to balance wear when they were returned. They replaced all of the furniture in both rooms. I am so happy with their service that I plan to visit their showroom at their annual sale for a smaller rug for another area. Call him you will not be disappointed.

+ -1 moreIt was always easy to reach Dave and I was made to feel that my questions and concerns were important. I have 30 rugs ranging from 8' x 10', down to 2' x 3'. I needed to store some of them for a time. Melrose Oriental Rug Co Inc. provides a service where cleaned and treated rugs can be individually shrink-wrapped for protection and stored at the customer's home until it's the right time to bring it out. So, if you have oriental rugs, and they ever need attention for any reason, I would recommend Melrose Oriental Rug Co Inc. When I opened the big rug, it just sparkled like it did when it was brand new! I make this suggestion because in my experience with the Melrose Oriental Rug Co Inc, I was treated with kindness and respect right from the start. They always arrived at my house exactly when they said they would and did what they said they would do. Anytime I had a question or concern, Dave called me or emailed me right away, or within the hour. I would hire the Melrose Oriental Rug Co Inc again in a second because I have total confidence in them. I have already recommended them to my friends.
Description of Work: I had never used Angie's List before but I needed to find the very best oriental rug service that offered specialized cleaning and moth protection, and I needed to find it FAST! My beautiful oriental rugs were infested with carpet moth eggs and larvae. I looked through Angie's directory and found many rave reviews for Melrose Oriental Rug Co Inc, so I sent a frantic email out to them in the middle of the night. At 7am the phone rang. A man (Dave, the owner) asked if I was the person that had emailed the Melrose Oriental Rug Co Inc the previous night. Apparently in my message, I hadn't included a cell phone number, an email address, or a street address! Speaking with Dave on the phone, I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Dave arrived at my door a few hours later, right on time. He was very thorough in his work. He took the time to carefully look at all the rugs and explain what needed to be done and why. After he had answered my questions, David took the affected rugs back to the Melrose Oriental Rug Co Inc to be cleaned and moth-proofed, with repairs to raveling edges as well. A rapid response and a big relief!

The rugs were picked up when promised and returned when promised. Of particular note is the effort David put into and the results achieved in successfully cleaning several bleached out red stains from a light cream colored Moroccan Berber rug. I would certainly use David and Melrose Oriental Rug Co., Inc. again for any of my carpet cleaning needs. I also would not hesitate to recommend David and his company to others.

He came on a weekend, looked at my rugs, discussed cleaning and repairs and I had an extremely accurate estimate later that day. When Dave returned with his helper, Max, they were again very professional. He helped decide on rug placements in my new home. The rugs looked great and the repair job on a very difficult rug looks fantastic! Dave and Max moved furniture, placed the rugs exactly the way I wanted them, and replaced the furniture. I am looking forward to visiting Dave's showroom to pick out a new rug for my dining room! I highly recommend Dave and Melrose Oriental Rug Co. and wouldn't hesitate to use them again for rug cleaning and repair!

He came out to the house, assessed my rugs, explained the process of cleaning and why some rugs needed repair. He was meticulous in educating me about the rugs and care of them. He transported them to his store and had them ready for delivery at promised time. He was professional, courteous and punctual. The rugs look great, the edges are repaired, and the colors brighter after cleaning. I am quite happy with the outcome.
