Excellent service from owner operator who provided great advice on rug care, cleaning, maintenance and also on rug padding. Competitive in pricing; excellent in service. Very honest in assessment of stains that would not come out. Took pride in delivering exceptional quality and timely service.

Dave came over and diagnosed the problem. He also went over the whole rug to make sure there was no other damage. Then he gave us several options--and did not urge the most expensive one! However, we did opt to have the corner rewoven by hand, and it came out great. The rug was also cleaned and moth-proofed. We are thrilled with the way it looks. While Dave was here, we asked him about a smaller rug which we had on top of the wall-to-wall carpet. It kept bunching up. He suggested a special kind of pad. Two nice men from Melrose came and cut it to fit and laid it, and it did the trick.

We were in the process of moving so also needed some flexibility in picking up the rugs and needed them packed nicely. Melrose Oriental Rug exceeded my expectations! In every way they were friendly and professional. From calling them to ask their pricing and details, to dropping off the rugs, being notified when they were ready and picking up - all of it went smoothly and so easy! Everyone I spoke to was fantastic. I found their pricing incredibly reasonable for the work they did and the overall service. I recommend them in every way and will most definitely use them in the future for rug cleaning or if I am in the need to purchase an Oriental. They are great!

They explained their rug cleaning service so that we felt comfortable leaving our rugs in their care. They picked up and delivered the rugs at the agreed upon times. The results of the cleaning were noteworthy. Each one looks noticeably cleaner and brighter, and the fringed was well-cleaned and cared for, as well. They also explained the various types of padding that the offer and helped us determine the best one for each of our rugs. Each person we had interactions with at Melrose Oriental Rug was friendly and helpful. They made us feel appreciated us as customers. We would definitely use their services again in the future and have no hesitation in recommending them to other people who need this service. The cost indicated covered everything--consultation, pickup and delivery, cleaning, rug pads and tax.

The rugs were returned on the promised day and expertly installed in the various rooms. I really was astonished at how good they looked, almost like new. Regarding the one rug that had an actual tear in it, the repair work was perfect and completely invisible. David and his crew were extremely polite and accommodating. It's a pleasure to do business with people like this, who enjoy sharing their knowledge and who take care of your possessions as they would their own. There's no need to shop around for other companies when you've already found the best!

The experience of dealing with Melrose Oriental Carpet was outstanding. I wish that every vendor that I deal with is as good as they are. They represent the real meaning of competence, honesty and excellence in a business. Their service is outstanding. I had 7 light colored rugs that were exposed to a moth infestation and I had to have them all picked up, cleaned and moth proofed as well as getting new pads for all of them. They wrote out a very carefully itemized written estimate for each of the 7 rugs and pads so I knew exactly what I was paying for. They delivered the rugs on the day and time frame that they promised and they carefully returned the rugs to their correct places - which meant picking up some heavy furniture. The rugs looked beautiful. I dealt with David, who is the owner of the business and it was David and helpers who brought the rugs back. He is honest and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this business.

We had an outstanding experience with David of Melrose Oriental Carpet Company. I had used them before to clean and repair a few carpets that had major problems and they pulled through 100%. One of the carpets was in horrible shape after I tried different solvents to get rid of pet stains and David said that he would try to rewash and apply a coloring process but did not know if it would work. So he said he would try and if I liked the outcome, only then would I pay him. This an unheard of very generous approach, which I appreciated. After that great experience, we decided to get all the carpets (a large varied assortment from years of living in Asia) cleaned, moth protected and going to further protect my carpets by getting pads that were suited to the type of carpet and its size and location in the room. I was again rushing off on another trip. So, David was very responsive and flexible and squeezed me in before I left. He also did a very detailed job of costing out all the carpets with all the options, so that I could decide what I wanted to do. I thought that the fees were very reasonable as well. So in summary, I would unanimously recommend Melrose Oriental Company (and they're even family owned for a few generations) for any carpet cleaning or repair needs!

Perfect restoration of edges badly damaged by the gnawing of a new puppy. Excellent cleaning of a rug in service on the front entry hall floor during last winter - Boston's snowiest in years.

The entire experience was wonderful. Everyone we spoke with was helpful and informed and the price was great. Best of all, the rugs came out beautifully. So much better than I would have expected. One was very large, hand woven wool with synthetic fibers (white) and they were able to get out almost every 30 year old stain.
