Melrose was professional, courteous, friendly and efficient from the moment I first called. I spoke with them on the phone and they asked plenty of questions, had me email photos of the rug and gave me a general idea of the cost. They, then, set up a prompt appointment to come out and look at the rug to give me a better estimate. They arrived on time. They were, again, extremely courteous, professional, friendly and thoughtful. They explained thoroughly what work needed to be done, just how much it would cost and when the job would be complete. Th latter two were pleasant surprises: the cost was a bit less and the timeline a bit shorter than expected. Melrose, in fact, made very clear what we should expect and then exceeded those expectations. The work was done when promised and they delivered the rug when promised and reset our living room. The work was excellent: the rug hasn't looked this good in many years. The colors are brighter, deeper and richer. Contrasts are greater enhancing the pattern. The edging and fringe were repaired far better than we could have imagined. In short, Melrose did a flat out great job from the work to their customer service.

Great group of folks to work with. Very responsive on the phone and because i could drop the carpets off, as well as let them know I found them on Angie's list the 30% discount was fantastic. If you're looking for a rug cleaner you won't be a disappointing experience.

David Mouradian, the owner, took the time to discuss my rug cleaning needs with me...educating me about what was needed and what wasn't...then came to my home and loaded the rugs into his car. He couldn't have been more personable or punctual. When I was ready to have them returned (I was moving), David brought the rugs back and put laid them down in the various rooms. He is a generous man who runs a quality business. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

The owner came to pick up my rug himself, calling first to ensure I was home. He measured it and gave me a very reasonable price including pickup and delivery. Since I am moving I asked that the rug be delivered to my new address and that was not a problem. Again I was called prior to delivery. My rug was wrapped nicely to keep it clean until my move is complete. My rug looks lovely and I am very pleased. Melrose Oriental Rug Company was very professional and I would recommend them highly.

These guys were great--they came when they said they would, spent time assessing my rugs and pads and teaching me about my rugs, and gave me a thorough and accurate estimate. They were very professional and respectful of my home and fun to talk with. The rugs were delivered back to me on time and they installed them beautifully. They look great! I will definitely call on them again and recommend them to others.

They were very prompt returning the initial phone call. David came on time to give us a price and to pick up the carpet. The price seemed reasonable as this was a very large carpet. They delivered the carpet ahead of time and were very accommodating. We would recommend them to others and we would use them again.

My father was in the rug and carpet business for over 45 years so I tend to have high expectations when it comes to having my own carpets and rugs cleaned. Over the last few years Melrose Oriental has cleaned our carpets, Oriental rugs and upholstery and has done a great job on all of them. They are the only rug company we would use. You can tell they are a family owned business who take pride in what they do.

David was a joy to be in touch with from the get-go, providing me with his cell phone number to enable even easier contact (in fact, I was probably the more difficult of the two of us to be reached). Called him in early November, and after him quoting me a figure based on the size of the rugs we set up a time for the rugs to be picked up in mid-December (they were busy in the interim because of everyone cleaning their rugs for the holidays, and I was in no rush to get my rugs cleaned). He arrived promptly on pick-up date, examined the rugs in their places, explained exactly what their cleaning process entailed, double checked the sizes to make sure the cost was correct, and then took the rugs away, estimating about a month to get them cleaned. It ended up taking a bit longer than that, but as I said he was aware that this was not a rush job. When they were done he was able to deliver one rug back to the original location and the second rug to a second home for the same charge as transporting both to the same location. Cost of the cleaning was right on target. Please note, I have given a rating of "N/A" for quality because the one rug is packaged up for storage and we obviously cannot inspect the quality of work without ruining the quality of their packaging. The second rug went to my aunt's, but she doesn't plan on unpacking and laying out the rug until the colder months. The second she unpacks that rug, I will update that quality rating.

We found them on Angie's List and we are so glad we did! The owner and staff came out the same day we called them; inspected the rugs; educated us on moth problems and prevention; and took all 8 rugs to be cleaned, repaired, etc. Rugs were returned a few weeks later along with new pads. They look wonderful and it's such a relief to know they are moth-free! Everyone was extremely pleasant and easy to work with, very knowledgable, professional, prompt and reliable. We wholeheartedly recommend them!

Not only was the work excellent, but they took the time to explain how we should best care for the carpet in the future. The service was excellent, the people polite and knowledgeable, and the price reasonable. We recommend them without reservation.

Based on information in Angie's List, I brought an antique, badly worn but nonetheless prized Heriz rug with one large hole and several small holes in for repair. When I first entered the shop I had expected to see some antique rugs and was concerned that only new rugs were on display. David, the proprietor, looked over the rug carefully, noting its poor condition. He indicated that the rug should be cleaned, and said that his repair people, who were not then in the shop, would do their best to repair it, and that he would attempt to find a suitable patch for the large hole. His projected cost of $500 (after applying an Angie's List discount for the cleaning, which I hadn't known about) seemed reasonable, and I was reassured by his seeming conscientiousness. The end result was more than satisfactory. David had gone to the trouble of searching out and locating from one of his contacts a remnant to use as a patch for the large hole that closely matched not only the colors and pattern of the rug, but also the weave, which because of the rug's worn condition was plainly visible. The small holes were repaired and reinforced with burlap backing.

FANTASTIC.... they did a fabulous job

I brought in three rugs for cleaning, no repairs. Two wool, one wool/silk blend of varying sizes. The results were great and they had them ready on the promised date. Friendly staff, and great value for the price. I would use them again in a second. The cleaned rugs looks great.

Most recently, I had a client who was downsizing from a large townhouse to a 2-bedroom apartment. She wanted to take some of her many oriental rugs with her, and Dave Mouradian, owner of Melrose Oriental Rugs, was incredibly helpful. He offered advice as to the relative value of her existing rugs, which helped her decide which ones to clean and move, and which ones to sell or discard. She also needed two larger rugs for her new living space. Dave listened to her preferences in terms of style, size and color, and showed her dozens of possibilities until she was able to decide which she wanted to purchase. He delivered the cleaned and newly-purchased rugs promptly, and took a great deal of time to make sure they were placed exactly as the client wished. He is incredibly professional, not AT ALL a pushy salesperson, and very willing to share his extensive knowledge.

I went to Melrose Oriental based on their glowing reports in Angies List, and they lived up to my expectations. Because of the age and type of damage to one of the rugs, I was very picky about who I selected. Melrose Oriental didn't disappoint. Dave is very knowledgeable so I was confident that he and his staff knew what they were doing. Moreover, he had very good reasons for making his recommendations for repairs and clearly explained the options without pressuring me. Because it was their busy season, the work took a bit longer than he originally anticipated. He immediately informed me of this, even though I had told him that I had no firm deadline for getting the rugs back. Everyone in his store was professional, helpful, and very pleasant. The rugs are GORGEOUS - they look brand new and all the repairs were expertly done and undetectable. I couldn't be happier, and I'll certainly use them again in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

The staff is very friendly and helpful and we received nice discounts for being 1)referred by Angie's List and 2) being first time customers. The rug was ready exactly on time and looked beautiful! From my first meeting with David, I knew that my rugs were in good hands He was very familiar with the style and I had confidence that the results would be great. He was also very flexible as to timing. I was having work done in my home and requested that the carpets not be returned until after some of the work had been completed. This was not a problem.
